  1. Before someone asks, "Yes, I own both systems." I just like to watch TV and play games at the same time. PC emulation lets me do that. I can play Mario RPG and watch Simspons reruns at the same time.

    :D

Anyway, I finally got a computer fast enough to handle the 64-bit generation. Which emulators are the best overall?

I started watching this movie yesterday, and I don't see how anyone can say this game sucks. Especially the final battles against Ridley and Metroid Prime. Since I love sci-fi, I just LOVE this game. Putting on a spacesuit and blowing away aliens... what a great way to relieve stress. Definitely deserved the title Game of the Year.

Just curious: Do any movies like this exist for other games?

[Edit: Don't watch the movie at full-screen. You'll get dizzy. Watch it at 100% or 200% zoom for best results.]

  3. I guess you're lucky. I get a lot of deadbeats who bid and then don't pay me... or respond to my numerous emails. Maybe I need a disclaimer: "If you're not going to pay, don't bid."

CPUWIZ: You keep saying I was banned. But if you check my previous profile for electrictroy, you'll see that my old account is still active: http://www.atariage.com/forums/profile.php...wprofile&u=3401 I changed my name by my own choice/desire.

Now, will you people PLEASE stop harrassing me? I'm really sick of the hate.

  4. I just took a whack at this game today, and I'm loving it. It gives me the same feeling that Ico gave me... albeit with more humor. GREAT game! I don't understand why it sold so poorly?

TRIVIA: The voice of the little stone gargoyle is Babylon 5's G'Kar aka Cardassian Commander Tomaluk from Star Trek. You gotta love a game that has G'Kar in it!!! :D

  5. I bought DDRMAX 1 + 2 dance pads for $40.

Then I lost my job and had to sell that stuff to pay my rent. I sold each item separately and got $70 total.

Now, you guys may think such practices are "immoral" or whatever, but this is how guys like Donald Trump and Bill Gates got to the top. Buy low. Sell high. It's the American way.

  6. I admire the website owner's ingenuity. He DOES NOT HAVE A JOB because he was laid off. Therefore he need money. Rather than steal money from taxpayers via welfare or unemployment taxes and be a parasite, the guy has gone out and found an inventive way to make a nice chunk of change.

I admire people who actually DO something with their lives rather than just live off the government dole.

  7. DDR ranges from so slow you'll fall asleep to so fast it's impossible. Your choice.

I still consider Konamix the best. The MAIN reason is because I like the disco lighting effects in the background and the dancer in the foreground. The boring movies in MAX 1 and 2 don't do it for me.

The other reason is Konamix has more songs worth hearing over-and-over (~20). MAX 1 and MAX 2 only have about 5 songs each that I like. Pretty pathetic.

  8. I played Grandia 2 about a year ago, and I really enjoyed the battle system. The story was not great, but good enough to hold my interest. And then I saw reviews that basically said: "If you like Grandia 2, get the original Grandia. It's awesome!"

Well after a day of gaming, I've concluded that Grandia for the original PS1 is NOT awesome. Yeah sure, the great battle system is still there, but what's the deal with the story? Or I should say, lack of story. Nothing's happening... just wander around going from one place to another... and also do annoying fetch quests. Ugh.

Long story short, I ejected the disc and put it on ebay. I'm not sure why people think this Grandia 1 is so great, but to me it's rather boring. Maybe, like FF7, it's just nostalgia coloring people's memories.

And then there's Driver. I played that today, and it's pretty cool. I've tried Grand Theft 3, but did not like the idea of blowing people's brains out. I don't consider killing innocent people fun. This Driver game is more moral in the sense that you're an undercover cop, so everything you do is for the good of humanity (or something like that).

Driver is a lot faster paced than Grand Theft too. Not as immersive, but at least the missions oly take ~5 minutes to complete... whereas Grand Theft you can spend up to half an hour wandering around trying to figure out where to go next. For me, aimlessly wandering is boring. I prefer Driver's straight-to-the-point, let's-not-waste-any-time style.

And of course, there's the sheer thrill of running away from the cops while 70's-era music plays in the background. Overall, a very fun and challenging experience!

    .

Bottom Line: Avoid Grandia and buy Driver. Also Grandia 2. Sure Driver is an "old" game with primitive graphics, but who cares? It's the GAME that matters, not the pretty pictures.

  9. I agree with your point, but I see no reason why a buyer should receive a DOUBLE refund. That's what paypal has done to me. And yes, I supplied a tracking number but here was paypal's solution:

Your account does show that you sent a refund of $20.00 on December 11th. Then on December 29th, the pending reversal cleared for $20.00.  We have sent an email to the Buyer requesting they send you a payment in the amount of $20.00.

The buyer paid $20 and was refunded $40. And paypal's solution is to request the buyer transfer $20 to me??? I'll be waiting a long, long time.

    NOW BACK TO THE SUBJECT:

Three weeks is NOT a long time. I ordered an Xbox game from bestbuy.com and it took a month (just arrived yesterday). YOU KEPONE need to exercise more patience.

  10. sellers who re-list items that were won but not paid for by the buyer will be eligible for the standard re-list credit.

I just found a big loophole. I have many items that are "not paid" but the buyers mailed me checks. Sooo... now I can go back to those items and re-list them for FREE.

    Ooops ebay.

  11. No offense, but for a measly ten dollar purchase with less than a month past the transaction date, you've smeared the seller

This reminds me of a lady who bought Final Fantasy 7 from me. Only 1 week after purchase, she was complaining that she did not have the game. Then her husband started bitching at me, and he claimed he was contacting a lawyer. The game arrived 19 days after the auction ended.

Now in MY opinion, 19 days from Maryland to California with media shipping is a reasonable amount of time. That includes not only waiting for their check to clear, but also packing the game + cross-country shipping time. But no, instead the impatient buyer left negative feedback.

Buyers need to realize that shipping games takes time. Driving a shipping truck across a continent is not instantaneous. We do NOT live in the age of Star Trek and Transporters. They also need to realize that we ebay sellers are NOT stores. We're just people, and we have busy lives with jobs & family. We can't just drop everything and run to the post office (which in my case is closed by the time I get home from the job..so I can only ship Saturdays).

If a buyer wants instant delivery, he/she should pull their ass off the couch, hop in the car, and go to the local store. And also pay more money for that instant service. Orrrr.... they can shop ebay, save money, and exercise some patience.

    .

re: Paypal Refund. I shipped an item to a buyer, but I wrote the wrong address. I gave the guy a $20 refund for my stupidity. Then the guy "charged back" his previous payment. Result: *I* lost $40.

IMHO, that's stealing. And of course, paypal.com does nothing to fix it. (shakes head) I'm glad paypal/ebay has buyer protection, but they also need *seller* protection too.

  12. So, weeks go by, and no money comes to me.  And I leave negative feedback...

So did you try contacting him or going thru the NPB process? It usually takes out the need for leaving negative at all. Only if they don't respond to emails.

No. I don't know how to use that email thingamajig.

    (end sarcasm)

Yes, I mailed the buyer *3* emails requesting his address. No response. I sent an invoice. No response. Filed a non-paying bidder alert. No response.

It's not my fault that 5 weeks go by and the buyer(s) ignore their emails and/or Ebay's notices. If the buyer is too stupid to reply, he DESERVES negative feedback.

  13. there's a level set in a garage with posters adorning the wall. The URL at the bottom of each of those posters links to a Web site featuring graphic images, hundreds of links to XXX pictures and the welcome message "Welcome to Interracialporno!"

    Does anyone have the link?

This reminds me of the Little Mermaid poster that included a tower shaped like a penis. (shrug) I think people need to stop being so offended by body parts. The human body is not something to be ashamed of.

  14. "...Can I bid on your item?"

Naturally I said yes. I want to sell them item, and I don't care why he bids. I don't understand why the guy even asked?!?!?

So, weeks go by, and no money comes to me. And I leave negative feedback...thereby *lowering* the guy's feedback. The exact opposite of what he wanted!

    (shaking head) What a dumbass.

In general, I don't understand why people bid, and then don't pay. I've got negative feedback, "Seller never shipped my item" to which I replied, "Of course not. You need to PAY for it! DUH!"

(shaking head) Too many dumbasses in the world.
