  1. @foft: can I insist for settings save? Like, for example, save the scanlines setting so the core boots with scanlines on.. Sorry if I am annoying, but that would be the last detail I would like polished on my new Atari800 machine.
  2. But booting directly with scanlines ON would be nice. No way the setting could be saved?
  3. @foft: I have updated to the latest core with Airstrike fixed but now scanlines are gone again Any chances that you add them as an option on the MCC-216 (VGA) build? They make a BIG difference on how things look closer to a TV.
  4. Thanks a lot for that, foft! It works perfectly! Now it's ATARI SHOW TIME! I hope you recover soon! It's been an intense flu year over here too...
  5. @foft: could you please build an mcc-216 version with scanlines on? I want to show the core to some friends this week and I want them to see it "as intentended". No need for an option, just a simple build with scanlines... I would do it myself but I think one can't simply do an .arg at home without additional soft components from the board manufacturer.
  6. @foft & NML32: it seems that Tail of Beta Lyrae doesn't work because this incredible Atari 800 FPGA implementation we have here is very accurate So I understand things are working as they should... The "XL gravity balls" version on the thread that foft pointed me to does work, although it lacks the fabulous intro. But it seems that the other versions shouldn't work on all hardware anyway. (at least it's what I understood from that thread). The best part in that thread is when Philip Price himself appears and explains the tricks he used for the starfield and tittle screen
  7. Also, I have found there's no way to get "Tail Of Beta Lyrae" to work past the intro. I have tried every version in ATR or XEX format, with no success. Can you guys reproduce this problem?
  8. If you could make scanlines on by default when VGA output is used, it would be great (at least or me!) On S-Video it doesn't make sense I guess.
  9. Hi, foft & all! I'm trying the core on the MCC-216 (VGA version) and some questions came to mind: -How can I update from the scrameta autobuilder versions? I can see the atari800core.rfb is 291KB, same as the official .arg core, but the core update menu of the MCC-216 doesn't detect it as a valid core bitstream. I also tried changing it's extension to .arg, but it's still unrecognized. -Is it possible to enable scanlines? How? If it's not possible, could you produce a version with scanlines ON? They could be disabled with a key. I thing that for VGA version it would be the best option. On the DE1, it looks great with scanlines.
  10. @GadgetUK: thanks for the response! I guess the problem in Windows Handy was it had audio gaps so you had to increase buffer size? In RetroArch handy core, the problem is that notes sound strange, so I believe it's a internal problem with the audio emulation, not an external buffering problem. @aminor00: don't worry! @mvirtuale: don't bother with standalone Handy on GNU/Linux: use RetroArch + Mednafen-Lynx core. Here's the PPA: http://www.libretro.com/index.php/downloads/#linux I am sure you can add a PPA and use it. Use RetroArch+core without X, with GLES2 on KMS/DRM, for lagless emulation not available in any other OS.
  11. I will try again... ahemm... @GadgetUK: Could you please point me to the source code of your fixed version, or a patch at least, so I can integrate into the Handy core for libretro?
  12. @GadgetUK; could you please point me to the sources with fixed audio? RetroArch has a Handy core fast enough for low-powered devices, and I would like to "merge" your fix. Thanks in advance!
  13. Hi, foft! I have a friend with experience that's interested in producing a custom board. He would do an study on time and prices in a couple of days. Should I put you two in contact?
  14. Can't wait to play this amazing port! Sounds and looks SO sweeeeet!!!
  15. I think I have found an incompatible game: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-jewels-of-darkness_6708.html The ATR available there will only load until one selects the game. Then the selected adventure will start loading but will stop loading soon after. I have also tried the PAL versions and the same thing happens.
  16. No news on this?? Looks INCREDIBLE and finished!
  17. Thaks A LOT for the joystic-on-keyboard on the latest DE1 version, foft!!!!!!
  18. @foft: I was testing latest DE1 core, and it seems keyboard-driver menu navigation doesn't work here. Is it supposed to be available in the venerable DE1 too? Also, could you release as POF for the DE1 instead of SOF? My DE1 is an Atari800 and having to boot it from the PC is clunky... Or maybe there's a SOF loader for the DE1 I don't know about?
  19. @foft: the compatibility problems I was having where entirely my fault. Pressing F8 when pressing F10 to reboot did the trick as you said!
  20. Also, a lot of games (most I'd say) require ATARIOSA.ROM instead of ATARIXL.ROM, so I think saving configuration changes would be VERY useful
  21. I think keyboard-simulated joystick would be great on the DE1 too. I have a joystick interface, but menu navigation at least would be way better with keybard
  22. The project to get all the different boards together with a common codebase is very exciting! It's as the Atari 8bit hardware is going to live on forever
  23. How're things going on the reborn Atari 8bit hardware front, foft? I've tried to find the latest version of the core today, to test it on the DE1, and I can't find it for download anymore on your scratchmeta page. Any news on this INCREDIBLE project are good news!
  24. I have the FPGA ARCADE, and now I have a reason to get a proper ITX case for it now. IN CRE DI BLE.
  25. I can't wait for this!! Now that I have Atari800 running PERFECT on the Raspberry PI (lagless input and smooth 50Hz scroll included) and a new Atari 800XL computer in the form of the Altera DE1 thanks to the incredible work of Foft, this is the a dream for me: one of my favorite ZX Spectrum games, at last on the Atari Great work Tezz!! Oh.. the music.. I LOVE it.
