Schmudde,
Really using the Mega for games and as a play thing for adding Hardware hacks to it.

Sauron, nice to see you on here. Been about 11 years or so when we were hanging out in the Austin area with our 8bit stuff.

I ran an Atari BBS in 1986-1987 in Houston, Texas area. It was called Atari Smallfry. Around 1998 I created a webpage with the same name. Mainly I just listed links to all the sites out there at the time. Since then I periodically check the links and see who is still out there. In my early days I was an 8-bit user and later the 16/32 with the different ST models.
I am sure there may be many new sites and I know many have gone away.

I took my Mega ST 4 and added a few things.
- 8 Meg memory upgrade
- IDE Interface board
- TOS 2.06
- 8 GB SSD for storage
- DVD Burner
- Ethernet
- VGA video card
- Mouse and keyboard adapter to PS2
Having fun when time permits.
-
Sounds cool.

Since I did it over time I really can't say anymore. Alan has links on the Atari-Forum that will give you pricing.
- IDE Interface Board (Run 8 GB SSD and DVD burner on it)
- TOS 2.06
- 8 MB Memory card
- Ethernec card
- Eiffel PS2 Keyboard and mouse card
I bought all of these from Alan H who makes them. (Spread it out over a year.)
I also added the External HDD case that I use with a DVD burner in it and the VGA card doubler.

I played this game when it first came out. Loved it and kept looking for an ST version to come out but never did.
I played for hours on this game and it never got old on my Atari 800.

Good looking port.

This is like watching a "Roast". I can see based on the previous postings and all the stuff across the web, why this kind of hits a nerve. Glad 99% of the users are regular guys and gals.
-
Alan was selling them about a year ago. I got the one that works on my Mega 4 ST.
-
How did the show go? That would have been something to attend.
-
I have the original base w/o the 8MB currently. I do have the IDE interface and TOS 2.06 upgrades in my Mega ST. I do plan to get the 8MB board too.

Sounds like some choices are to be made. What ever you do, do not trash it. Someone will buy it from you I am sure, if the price is right.
-
I just saw this post on Alan H's 8 MB memory card can be used with the IDE and TOS 2.06 upgrades.

I found a English version a few months back. Just don't remember the site.

Has this stuff been taken yet?

Looks like two people on the "Atari Forum" site live in LA and want to help you out...
-
Thanks hopefully someone in LA will reach out to him. I sent him a couple emails asking to contact me. I am in Central Texas but would like a couple of those peices.

Tried to install but requires NDVI or SpeedyGDOS. Downloaded those but have not tried to install.

Dmitry,
Yes I did the 8 bit then the ST. At one time I was running the 130XE, 1040ST, Apple "Fat" mac, and a Zenith PC in my man cave at the same time. (Late 80's) Settled into PC for work reasons but kept the other stuff to play with. Did a big house cleaning around 2006 and gave away to a local Atari group tons of my stuff.
I only have the Mega ST stuff now and some software for it.
