  2. This one is cool too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMD2nF7meDI&feature=player_embedded
  3. That was a very cool interview. I had flashbacks to my early Atari days and running a BBS on my Atari 800 with a 1200 baud modem and 4 floppy drives. It was a "Small Fry BBS" and that is what it was called. 1986-1987 it was on line. (Phone line that is)
  4. Okay just ordered the driver software to support my IDE DVDRW on my Mega ST. http://www.anodynesoftware.com/
  5. Got a replacement power supply for the IDE CD Rom drive and started playing with it today. I have it hooked up to the Mega ST with Alanh - IDE board. The HDDriver software sees the CD Rom drive on bootup. The two older software programs I have are not working correctly yet and I believe it is in the configuration files. The older Extendos Pro does not show any info supporting the IDE drive. I may have to breakdown and purchase the newest version.
  6. It is the Mega 30 and will be cutting the hole at some point. Was planning to use a power supply I had taken from an old SCSI case but managed to smoke it last night. (Shorted it out) So That part of the project is going to be on hold for now.
  7. I have a DVD drive that I am adding to my Mega in a separate case. I bought an empty Megafile case. Also mounted the Eiffel and Ether NEC in it.
  8. Been having fun with this IDE controller "The Doubler" from Alan H. Still learning about the system I have a CD ROM drive and second IDE drive I am hooking up to the Mega ST.
  9. Started laying out the parts into my Megafile empty case.
  10. Is this the same one? http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FLogikhron-Clock-Module-manual-LCM-2000-for-the-Atari-520ST-1040ST-%2F400528138790%3Fpt%3DUS_Vintage_Computers_Mainframes%26hash%3Ditem5d41566226
  11. Every part and software update keeps the Atari world evolving....
  12. Yes so true. I have installed those in my Mega. I have the extra Megafile empty case that I plan to mount some of that into.
  13. No I actually had bought my RAM from a different vendor. He sold 10 sticks for $26.00 USD or $2.60 each versus $10 each. Memory Ten Inc. 1MB 30p 70ns 9c 1x1 FPM SIMM http://memoryten.com/ Shipping was $9.00 So for $35 USD I got 10 sticks versus $80 plus for 8 sticks. Marpet manual says 80-120ns.
  14. Just a reminder Alan H still has these for sale. http://www.freemint....fel/eiffel.html (Ps2 keyboard and mouse connector) and http://www.freemint....c/ethernec.html (EtherNEC - Ethernet card connector) He also makes the IDE /TOS 2.06 cards. (Aladdin - IDE controller with TOS 2.06) I nicknamed this the Aladdin. http://www.fairlite....NT/ide/ide.html Atari ST alive and well in 2013.....
  15. I am using a Microsoft USB mouse with the PS2 adapter on an Eiffel and it is working fine. I did try a smaller Microsoft USB mouse and it doesn't seem to see it. Nice using a optical USB mouse on the ST.
  16. Thank you. That is better than saying I am becoming a pain in the rear... Photos of add on's to the Mega ST in the past 6 weeks. Eiffel 3 - PS2 connector EtherNEC card Marpet +8 Memory Alan H - IDE / TOS 2.06 upgrade I see this as fun and supporting my habit... Computer Geek... Still have the Megafile case to put some of this stuff into.
  17. Playing with some of the software tonight. Cool memory test program.
  18. I love this IDE / TOS 2.06 combo from Alan. It is being used with SD cards, mSATA SSD, and spinning HDD from what I have seen. I attached a photo with mine using a mSATA SSD.
  19. Funny but I saw the same thing. 520ST on the label. Still looks nice.
  20. After the initial exchange of emails we did a few more. Seems like a very pleasant guy in a band. Last email a few weeks ago he was still pulling out boxes from corners and trying to get a list of everything. Once he reaches that point I think he plans to sell what he can locally. Didn't seem like he wanted to spend too much time packing and shipping stuff. I can't speak for him just passing on the flavor of our email exchanges. I considered driving out there to take a look, but gas alone for the round trip would be over $300.
  21. I sent Bradley at Best Elec a note that I had installed the RAM upgrade combined with Alan H IDE/TOS 2.06 upgrade. The instructions called for a different brand of TOS 2.06 upgrade. He did reply back saying he was glad it worked out for me and that he only has one of these RAM kits left. So if you own a Mega ST and want to add this +8 board here is your last chance from Best.
  22. If you see the second photo it shows System free memory 12. This version uses the 4 on the mainboard plus the 8 on the upgrade.
  23. I know this specific Marpet upgrade is for the Mega St. Fixing these things up it most of the pleasure. Adding new toys to the computers of my youth. If I just wanted a PC, I have a Windows 7 tablet PC and a Mac Powerbook Pro for that. Like I have said before when working on my retro stuff, it is not the destination it is the adventure.
  24. I recently started upgrading my Mega ST4. With the RAM upgrade it is now a Mega ST 12. I bought the RAM upgrade from Best Electronics, this is in addition to the IDE /TOS 2.06 board from Alan H. I added the Eiffel 3 and ordered the EtherNEC card. Will let you know how the RAM upgrade works out.
