  1. I just recently aquired a colecovision and after cleaing it up and plugging it into the main tv, I was shocked at how crisp the picture was! My atari's have some static or fuzz, but the CV is as clean as my Nintendo...is there a reason for that(technical)? Also, one of the carts Zaxxon boots up to it's title screen but then provides junk after that...any remedies? Lastly, any must own games for the CV....currently I only have DKong, Carnival and the tempermental Zaxxon. late, p
  2. I have a friend at the rock hall in cleveland and could probably get a pick of the cart next to jimi hendrix's guitar or something or part of the pink floyd wall
  3. THANK YOU!!!! I was hoping someone could teach me by example....I will give it a try tonite. I don't think I'm going to mod my SC, just keep it stock until I can find another one for a reasonable price. I'll let you know how it worked late, p
  4. Just wondering I got a couple of carts from an epay lot that the owner(jack*ss) had used tape to secure the loose labels. I am going to attempt to remove the tape and fix these, but prior to doing so I would appreciate any advice on the matter. it's just a frogger cart and some cv carts, but i want to fix them as best as possible. Late, p
  5. another atari saved from the clutches of the evil uber-thrift! 2600 six switch w/ all hookups, psu, joysticks and paddles Kaboom(loose) Haunted House(loose) Air Sea Battle(loose) Math Grand Prix(loose) Skiing(loose) Asteroids(loose) and of course Combat(loose) all for $8
  6. Recently I aquired a supercharger and was looking to make a CD of games I own to use with it so I don't have to switch between carts and can keep them wrapped up and safe. I have been trying to use the MWDOS program, but I have no idea how to use it. Evertime I bring it up through the command prompt i try to enter commands but I don't know what I'm doing or if it even works on my computer. The instructions for the program don't really explain how you use it atleast not in a simple way that I can understand. So if anyone is adept at this and can walk me through it...I would be very thankful:) Thanks, p
  7. Does Makewav work with windows XP cause I can't seem to get it to work at all? Any help would be appreciated. late, p
  8. very smooth....reminds me of DJ Shadow. That will be placed on the next mix disk I make, I'm sure folks will be asking "Is that...Defender I hear?"....classic:) good job. p
  9. Thanks for the kind words...I wasn't sure if it came across as well as I wanted it to, but it's hard to transfer an image in your head to a flat graphic surface...anywho, the positive comments have really made me feel pretty darn good Thanks. Late, p p.s. I think everyone has really done some outstanding work
  10. and knowing is half the battle...G.I. Joe!!!
  11. I found a Raft Rider out in the wild today missing its top label. Granted, I know this def cuts into the value, but how much? 50%? FYI, I paid $3 for it. Late, p
  12. I figure I'll chime in on this subject. I never got rid of my original atari...In fact I never have gotten rid of any of my original systems/computers. For me, I had to work my arse off as a kid just to get a new game or a new piece of hardware. My parents taught me that you don't get it all at once, you work and buy it as you go along. You'll appreciate it more and if you value it...you'll take care of it. I remember playing the Atari so much that we snapped those joysticks like they were twigs...hours and hours of gaming action...I even recall, sending them to Atari to be fixed...crazy. Anywho, it's not so much that I spend hours now playing Atari games. It's more so that I spend time looking back at my past and the things that made me smile. I like finding a game that I never had the opportunity to own or play when I was a kid and I like bringing that game home and putting it amongst other games that I have saved from the evil thrift stores of the world and letting that game know that it's just as special/important/relevant in this day and age as it was in 1978. I feel like the people on this site respect and cherish their past...and that's an admirable quality to possess. Cheers to all who keep a suppossed dead system Alive and Kickin' Like a MoFo! late, p
  13. I am the big weiner!! Do I get a combat cart as my prize?
  14. If interested in either of these or both PM me, would like to trade for 2600 carts of equal value PHM3220 Microsurgeon PHM3033 BlackJack and Poker late, p
  15. Excellent! I wish I could join "They" and then I too could control the universe and determine that the hairpins that my girlfriend leaves all over the place are worth a million dollars each and due to the color variations, that some are worth 1.5 million. late, p
  16. I understand that part, but who or how is this rarity determined? How is rarity determined across the board...has one person looked through production runs or are these just guesses? Is their a resource other than AA for these facts/figures? Just tryin' to figure th whole thing out. Thanks for the knowledge. P
  17. Okay, one thing I can't quite get is why and how certain label variations determine the value(market) of a game. For example, I was checking out Atariguide.com and they had label variations of Mrs. Pac-Man going for $24. Why? Is a Ms. Pac-Man from '88 that much harder to find than one from '82 or are they just playin' people? I'm confused. thanks, p
  18. I have been lucky enough to aquire this game and have noted that it is rather rare. However, I don't know much of the history of this game....why is it so rare in comparison to other Apollo games. Any info would be appreciated. late, p
  19. Okay, I have an 800xl, Two 1050s, a 300 baud modem, and a old dot-matrix printer(which I'm sure is broke). I've had the system since I was in grade school. Buying it piece by piece with allowance money. I used to mess around with it everyday until the wee hours of the night....geeking out on BBS's(TAP, Part-time, Bloom County) and various games(loved Bruce Lee, Archon, Goonies and AR). Anywho, I'm 31 now and my 8-bit sits dormant. I would love to bring it into the present day and make it a part of my everyday life, much like my PC is now. I am far from a programmer and have lost what little knowledge I once had of the 800xl. Besides gaming, what can I do now with my trusty xl? What do you do with yours? How can I reeducate myself on this powerful little machine and bring him into the present day? late, p
  20. http:// The only one that has 2600 games thinks that they're all made of gold--sorry, but I'm not interested in a $7 Pac Man cart (and a boxed Othello for $15? C'Mon!) Excellent point! There is a thift store in my area that charges $5 for carts regardless of what they are(NES, 2600, Sega). I understand that they can't be expected to price them all out differently, but another thrift store(same chain) just a few blocks away only charges $2...what's the deal with that???? Question: I did find some carts at the $5 store that I haven't seen before...are they worth $5 each? Sssnake MOTU: He-Man Buck Rodgers Flash Gordon
  21. I wanted to get everyones take on this. Having only started recently collecting 2600 games, I have mainly stuck with hunting for them in the wild(ie thrift stores, garage sales, secret caves inhabited by c.h.u.d.). Mainly, becuase I get a huge rush when I see a combat cart chillin' in a dusty bin at the local goodwill, and because it's the most cost effective way for me to build the "collection"....muwwahhhhaaaahhhaaa! Anywho, do you think it is still possible to build a collection through hunting or has it gotten to the point that most carts have been found and are already in the hands of all of you people? What method do you prefer? Anyone have any ePay Horror Stories of getting sent bogus carts? Late, p
  22. The classic from 1978!! The unit has been cleaned and tested and works perfectly. Exterior is in Good codition with normal wear. 9volt snap connector needs to be replaced due to corrosion(availble at radioshack for $2). Simon just turned 25 years old and is still the best game to bust out at a party...totally Mod. I would be interested in any 2600 cart trade offers Let me know, p Trivia: Where did Simon make his public debut? [/img]
