  1. Sorry, this is what I was talking about in that last post.....
  2. Just to play devils advocate, how do you plan on doing this? At this point without an actual Amico to compare against you don’t know how the Amico controls are going to work. You obviously mean when the Amico comes out you do a comparison....
  3. Mine is still at my parent’s in the box. The box isn’t in the best of shape, no inserts anymore, but all the pieces are there. I fired it up a few years ago and it still worked. Loved that game!
  4. Yeah, definitely a great time for 1st gen consoles. The handhelds were the definition of simple graphics (just a bunch of LEDs) but highly fun to play. Personally I had the Mattel Battlestar Galactica Space Alert.
  5. For me JC Penney was the go to catalog, the Sears layout always seemed dated to me. I love looking through them to see the old toys I had and what was available back then (and the prices)
  6. You should checkout this site then: http://www.wishbookweb.com They have compiled a bunch of Sears, JC Penney, Montgomery Ward, and other Christmas catalogs. Talk about nostalgia!
  7. I’m betting Tommy has had it ceramic coated and doesn’t need to wax it....
  8. Ha! Love it! So, the house I’m in currently was originally built in the late 1800 and was rebuilt in 1928 (I think the original burned down). It was abandoned for about ten years before I got it and was a gut job, we gutted it down to the studs and rebuilt it. We took out 3 40yd dumpsters of junk, not including the demo material. It was used as a boarding house and had 13 bedrooms and every mattress was left behind! There was just rooms full of junk. Not only did I find that Flobee, but in keeping this retro there was a working a Game Cube with 2 wireless controllers and Animal Crossing. Also an original PS controller.
  9. Mine is musical in nature. Back in the 80s I was into Aldo Nova. The first time I saw him live was in 1982 as the opener for Blue Oyster Cult (one of my all time favorites) at Music Mountain in Fallsburgh, NY. Well of course concert t-shirts were bought and worn to school the next day. A few of my friends started calling me Saldo, (pronounced Sal-doe, not Sal-do) a blend of Sal, my name and Aldo from wearing that concert T all the time. I liked it and it stuck for an online handle.
  10. Don’t laugh, but I actually have one of those in my basement! I didn’t buy it directly, it was in the current house I’m in when we bought it. Being the pack rat that I am I couldn’t bring myself to throw it out. I just thought it was funny that someone actually bought it. Now I’ve never used it (that would be pretty gross) but my wife keeps threatening to use it on me if I don’t stop complaining about how long my hair is getting!
  11. Yup, remember that watermelon! As someone already posted, Jim Dandy is still in existence. For me it was the Reeses peanut butter cup Sunday.
  12. Wow, I thought they all closed up in NY. I guess a quick Google search would have revealed that they didn’t all close! For me the closest one would be the Albany area, about an hour fifteen away. I don’t actually live in Newburgh, I’m about 15 miles north across the river from Poughkeepsie. Back in the 80s/90s there were probably 5 in that 15 mile radius.
  13. Nope, never went for that. Heck, I’ve never even been to a NY state fair! Is that when they do the big equestrian show? My one daughter is into horses and went to that show. She was on the equestrian team in college. She did very well considering she never rode English until she joined the team her freshman year. All the other riders had been riding since grade school.
  14. There is one about ten miles from my house in Newburgh, NY. I think Wyndham bought them out, at least that is how comes up when I Google it: “Howard Johnson’s by Wyndham, Newburgh, NY.”. I don’t know if they still sell ice cream there though, maybe at that family owned one that was mentioned.
  15. We go to Springfield every February and spend a long weekend to go to the Northeast RV show at the Eastern States Expo Center. We always have a great time. One of my best friends (known him since elementary school) managed a Friendly's while we were in collage. Always loved going there to eat, he would jack up the syrup on my orange sodas for me! I also loved the Fribbles. All of the Friendly’s shut down in NY decades ago. My daughter went to college at Montserrat College of Art in Berverly, MA and we would pass that big Friendly’s sculpted hedge along the Mass Turnpike near Springfield. We looked into it and realized Friendly’s was still around and there is one about 1/2 mile from Eastern States. We always do a lunch there every time we go. Sorry for the ramble!
  16. My daughter and her boyfriend have a husky and a mini Aussie. I’d rather have huskies (we had two). That mini Aussie is a ball of energy!
  17. That might be an East coast reference that everyone won’t get! Was Carvel a nationwide chain?
  18. I was going say to it looked like an Egyptian themed dining room!
  19. One thing I would say about the American Girl lines is that they are quality products. With three girls we dropped some money on those products many a Christmas and birthdays. Yes, those dolls were $100 but they were made extremely well. The clothing and accessories were top notch as far as quality goes. Just like the gaming crowd they have collectors also. Those $100 dolls that are 15-20 years old are now worth $400-$800.
  20. Tommy, Thanks for the info. I will give it a little more time and then reach out to them. With all that is going on I expected delays.
  21. Good to know. I placed an order about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I haven’t received a shipping e-mail yet. I’ll reach out to customer service on the Intellivision website, Tommy has people for these situations!
  22. Tommy, How are the orders for merchandise being handled during the quarantine? Are orders placed being processed and shipped? If so what is the average time it is taking to ship items?
  23. That one doesn’t sound very family friendly, lol! I wouldn’t put that one on a shirt or mug😄. Back in the late 80’s our local rock radio station used to do a touch football tournament, entry fees went to charity. A group of my friends had a team called the Muff Divers. They had jerseys made up with the team name on the front and everyone on the team was number 69!
