  1. 175,025. Here a tip: Try to hit the swirl in mid-air on the first levels to bring up your lives to the max. Yes your score will ramp quicker, thus ramping up the difficulty faster, but you have more time to line up your shots with the slower moving destroyer missle. By the looks of the score on this first day it's going to be a week of late nights trying to stay in the top 10!! God damn Todd is more than human!!! - Sal
  2. Just for fun I sent him an e:mail asking him if these were the 51 games he told Lars he never received (also said something about visiting him in jail when he's busted for mail fraud ) Anyway here is what is wrote back (he is not one for capital letters at the begining of his sentences! Also is he a he? He goes by Liz C): "different games, moron.made two purchases.your such a loser to come at me like that.as you can see i am getting tons of hits on this auction and lots of bids.first nasty email i got was from you. keep on living your dream.ill live mine.jail.that is so funny. ill win,his business is almost dead, wait till i get my money back.even better." - Sal
  3. Good point Nukey....I would assume that they have some sort of account history on their site. I would also print that sucker out to have a record of out in case they go belly up!!! I don't think we'll be seeing a crack down on illegal classic game ROMS anytime soon. It would just cost the right holders way too much to prosecute compared to the profit they are making from those old games, or any fine that they would collect. - Sal
  4. Not to dredge up on old topic, but I thought someone might like to know there is a small article on these guys in the June 2004 PC Gamer mag. Basically Atari is the only rights owner that has signed on. All those ROMs that people are mentioning downloading technically are illegal if you don't actually own the game  . With Starroms since you are buying the ROM it is a legal copy. - Sal
  5. Damn...one more thought. The patch issue. Since this is turning out to be such a big time consumer for Lee and his wife, maybe it's time to just STOP with the patches!!! Now I don't know Lee, but the guy seems pretty straight up since he volunteered to design the patches and have his WIFE sew these up. While they have all looked fantastic, do we really need need to pat ourselves on the backs so badly?? Maybe a solution would be to forget the patch and just take Lee's designs and put them into a certificate that can easily be PM'd or e:mailed to the the winners and they can print them out. This way this sets Lee's wife free, Lee can still do the designs if he wants to, and there is no postage to worry and delivery issues for him to worry about. Ok that's it, I've posted three messages in a row, that's all I'm saying for tonight!!! Good night!! - Sal
  6. Shannon said it better than I did....this is the point I was trying to make!!! - Sal
  7. Here are my thoughts on the whole flipping thing. I have no problem if someone wants to do a marathon to see how far they can get, more power to them. If it ends up with Todd always coming in 1st every week, well that's life (I think there are some people here that could give him a run for his money though!!). On games that max out, if more than one person achieves that level than they should each get the 12 points for the week and that's that. I don't think there is a need to prove that you can flip a game X amount of times. Chances are if you can get to that level you should be video taping the session to validate the flips and send the tape to Twin Galaxies!!! Also, remember this weekly contest was conceived for fun and to get people to take out those old games and rediscover them again (I know thats what this friendly contest has done for me). I've played games that I've never played before, or haven't touched in 20+ years!! I even dragged out my original heavy sixers from my parents house so I could actually play these games on some real hardware (my collector units are packed away ). I think it's a great honor to play with the likes of Todd Rogers, 5th Ghost JediJeff, sku_u, and the others who consistantly blow the doors off everyone week after week. If you don't have people like this to play against then you never push yourself and you never get any better. I know when I'm playing I always say to myself "this is the game that I beat Todd Rogers on"....of course I never even come close!!! -Sal
  8. 89,520.....I just realized I was playing games 16, but with the left difficulty set to A!!!! LOL. Switching to B helped a little bit!!! - Sal
  9. One question for the guys in 900K club....will the score flip if you don't stop before 999,999??? Just wondering if by chance I make it into that realm  !!! - Sal
  10. 53,790.....l'm betting that by the end of this one nothing under 200K is going to be in the top 10!!! - Sal
  11. 2,945. Thought I was going to break 3,000, but I choked!!! I'm thinking I'm reaching my limit with this game. Anyone who can get over 3,000 is superhuman in my book!!! - Sal
  12. Thanks for the tips ghost....I though it was just me with my eyes bugging out on the screen after I shut down the emulator!!! The desktop picture on my PC would move up and down!!! Also, while your tips are great accomplishing them is the hard part!!! I pretty much figured out if you can't get to the free paddle points without three paddles intact you might as well reset! - Sal
  13. 2,426....The mouse actually simulates the paddles pretty well in the emulators. - Sal
  14. I just start playing this about an hour ago and damn is it hard!!! I'm playing with Cyberstella and it even emulates a set of jittery paddles with the mouse!!! I found this to be the best emulator to play this particular game on. I tried PCAEWIN, but as stated before it seemed to have problems with this game. Z26 just didn't have a good feel to the controls, and I just couldn't get the game going with MESS (the picture looked blurry also...no time to fiddle with the configs). Anyway so far 861 is the best I could do so far. - Sal
  15. 23,050 Tomorrow's another day....... - Sal
