  1. Nope, my 65XE lacks that expansion port. I guess I'll just consider it a XEGS with a built in keyboard...
  2. I guess I'll just suffer with my comparatively lame 65XE.
  3. Does anyone have a list of software that actually uses the 130XE's extra memory? The 130 XE looks cool but man how can anyone justify the price for anything besides just collecting purposes...? the NTSC ones go for like $300 on ebay!! Sometimes Atari 8 Bit strangely reminds me of the NEO-GEO AES...!
  4. Too many options... Is it necessary or possible o upgrade the 65XE to have more RAM? The only thing I don't like about SIO2PC is that you have to have a PC next to your Atari at all times... I have a laptop but it's just a bit inconvenient... So there's no everdrive-like solution to play all the games... I'm thinking I need the SIO2SD and some kind of cartridge device for the cart slot. The question is which cart do I need and which ones are actually still available... I was under the impression that the ultimate cart and the!cart were no longer in production.
  5. ...hmmmm so would going with the compact flash cartridge AND the SIO2SD allow for the best compatibility? The other thing I'm confused about is RAM expansion. Do I need the rarer and more expensive 130XE to run all the software?
  6. So I picked up an Atari 65XE, and I'm having difficulty figuring out what the best aftermarket solutions for flash drives is. I've had prior experience with using the Everdrives on Genesis and similar consoles, but the Atari computers seem to be a little more convoluted. What solutions do you guys recommend? Does the compact flash cartridge support all Cart 400/800/XE game roms? also i've seen those SIO2SD drives... What file types do those support? I'm trying to set this up to be able to play the widest variety of games possible. Another thing, I've noticed A8 roms come in a few different file types. Can someone run me through each type of file and what they are? i've seen .CAS, .XEX, .BIN, .ATR... I'm not sure whats what here.. Also, are there memory upgrades available for the 65XE? Do any games support the expanded memory of the 130XE?
  7. I'll go a step further and only use: 1. Pencil 2. Erasor 3. Notebook 4. 1930's Burroughs mechanical adding machine 5. A map of the state of Kentucky and Indiana 6. Compass
  8. I thought the difficulty switch turned the music off or on
  9. The chances of finding 2800 stuff is low. If he does find a boxed system prepare to pay out the ass for it.
  10. I'm pretty sure I have more rarity 4s than I do 1s. lol
  11. You should use seimitsu LS-40 joysticks instead of leaf switch ones.. They are clicky and wonderful, the same ones used in Japanese NEOGEO cabs
  12. If it can only work on the 7800, then why not just make a 7800 game straight up? Wouldn't that be easier?
  13. You should put speakers in it an call it an "extra heavy sixer"
  14. JUST bought asteroids for 7800! Excited, since I sold all my 2600 copies!
  15. Tempest Gauntlet Missile command Final fantasy R-type Rainbow islands Contra Prince of Persia Elite
  16. How about a sprite from air raid made from dozens of air raid carts?
  17. Try a different TV before messing with your console.
  18. I'm a 7800 guy. It's the most versatile system.
  19. Id like to see some nintendo game & watch games remade on the 2600, such as: Fire Oil Panic Turtle Bridge Manhole Judge Vermin Mickey Mouse/Egg Mario's Cement Factory Chef Octopus I think all those would be doable.
  20. I have some doner carts.. Maybe I could have one converted for myself and do somewhat of a trade. How about money order plus doner carts for one copy of the game? Hers the carts I have: One on one basketball One on one basketball Karateka Karateka Hat trick Pole position 2 You could make six more copies of the game with those. I'd buy one and you could sell the rest I'd also be willing to just buy a bare cart PCB of the game without a shell if that's easier. I'd just put it onto my own shell.
  21. I cant hit anything, i cant tell how high i am, i cant dodge buildings. is it just a flawed game by design or am i doing something wrong?
  22. im talking the actual layout of a 5200 label, like a retail game template, with all the atari logos and stuff on it.
