Intellivision plug and play from AtGames in Oct 2014
AlecRob replied to Flojomojo's topic in Dedicated Systems
i want an Atari PONG flashback, it would have every version of PONG from all the dedicated Atari Pong systems. that would be awesome, and it would have four paddle controllers. -
Those are VERY rare. You could make a few hundred bucks if you decided to flip it, easily.

any way to know how early/late your unit is by its serial number? mine is 80088A made in Los Gatos, CA.

post-7800 launch 2600 games that DID NOT have better versions on the 7800
AlecRob replied to AlecRob's topic in Atari 2600
you can also mention good games that only came out on 2600 and never on 7800, post 7800 launch. -
its not the worst game ever, but still a very bad game IMO

Thought i'd revive this thread... I love 2600 and 7800 sound effects, while the TIA isn't very well suited to music, its the KING of great sound effects. heres some of my favorites. The shooting sound in Defender 2600 The shooting sound in Centipede 7800 When you beat a level in Yars Revenge 2600 When you die in food fight 7800 walking in Donkey Kong Jr. 7800 When you die in Space Invaders 2600 Everything in super breakout 2600!

AlecRob replied to RedRaider's topic in Classic Console Discussion
These look great. I'll be picking up the 7800 and Saturn ones eventually. Now if only she had Neo Geo AES ones... -
Video Olympics is underrated. nothing beats a good game of PONG. or FOOSPONG

how is artifacting done, anyway? and do 2600 and 7800 games use it?
-
you could build an arcade style joystick using one of these: http://na.suzohapp.com/all_catalogs/joysticks&R=16&S=TS&FILTER_NAME=JOYSTICK_CONTROL&FILTER_VALUE=Analog&FILTER_UOM= plus add a telephone keypad: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Professional-metal-telephone-keypad_808579361.html and seimitsu buttons: http://www.focusattack.com/buttons/seimitsu/ and an LS-40 for games that work better with digital controls: http://www.focusattack.com/seimitsu-ls-40-joystick-187-fastener-type-with-re-plate/

Is anyone else interested in a better Donkey Kong Jr.?
AlecRob replied to sunsetrider91's topic in Atari 7800
nice! the arcade sprites are actually very different looking compared to the NES and standard 7800 ones. -
Maybe an adaptor to use a Sega Saturn analogue controller on a 5200? Or maybe a PS2 controller. (try to avoid modding saturn controllers, they are sacred!)
