When Ataribox gets a release, will atariage have to make its own forum section dedicated to it? I mean, it's just as much an atari console as the Lynx or 7800 IMO.. (i.e. not designed by the original atari)

Honestly im glad i preordered just so i can be part of this whole dramatic... thing. Its been a fun ride and brought me a lot of amusement. Worth the 200 dollars just for that. Maybe ill even get a linux PC out of the whole deal.

Yeah but what about people who backed/preordered before 400 and 800 were announced? What version of the console will we be getting? Confusing.

I firmly believe VCS will see a release. I just don't buy the vaporware hype at all. It doesnt seem, feel or vibe as true to me at all. I think theres definitely room in the market for this. Even AMD mentioned atari in one of their press releases, which boosts their credibility a lot to me. Atari, SA is a HOLDING COMPANY, meaning they must be partnering with AMD to make this console. All atari SA does is manage Intellectual property. I think perhaps Atari VCS is not merely an atari console, but really an AMD console in disguise.. atari SA, a holding company licensing the atari hardware brand to AMD.

I think they wont bother to make another prototype with the new shell. next time itll just be the final unit IMO

I’d love to see superscaler-style 2D games on Amico, like Galaxy Force II, Power Drift, Space Harrier, Rad Mobile, After Burner, Out Run and other similar things!

I preordered the console but no controllers. Why bother when xbox pads are nearly identical and compatible?

Atari is pretty smart marketing to stupid people. They are the majority after all. This thing will do well.

Thats so cool that you are friends with them. It has to be one of the coolest consoles ever made.. I regularly play my PC Engine CoreGrafx and i also have a TurboGrafx16.. its a system with a unique spirit. I love it!! Air Zonk, 1943 Kai (amazing sound design) and Mizubaku Daibouken are my addictions.. Bomberman would be a great fit for Amico...! I wish hudson soft would come back...

I can see it being a nice emulator box, at the very least... other than that i dont really know what i personally would use it for... perhaps... checking my email... or word processing?

I think ataribox will get released, but the end product will be frankly extremely boring.

Just because other people that used crowdfunding didnt follow through doesnt mean atari SA wont. Im remaining neutral until the end of the year.

At the end of the day this will only be a PC with an atari logo slapped on it. Most of us getting one will probably just use it to browse the web and continue posting about tacos in this thread??

I think making a single board computer like the VCS wouldnt really be hard to manufacture... the software side will be trickier IMO Im not confident atari has ANY software knowhow.

who cares how bad or good VCS is? none of us will survive the apocalypse anyway...
