So, for the Hits of 1982, Google is suggesting Michael Jackson - Beat It, and the AtariAge forums users are suggesting Survivor - Eye of the Tiger. Both have their challenges and distinctive sounds, I really like these choices. We will see which music I end up composing first between the two... unless I've already done it but I don't remember.

  2. In case it has any relevance, the following songs are not part of the High Voltage SID Collection, meaning there are no known C64 covers of those songs. Whether that is due they weren't popular songs, too difficult to cover or something else is not known. Also I haven't cross referenced any AY, POKEY, NES etc chip music libraries to determine if they're present there.

    ...

Men Without Hats - Safety Dance

    ...

I've found a disturbingly funny text-to-speech and C64 version of the Safety Dance. So the SID version might be under an unusual name or simply composed and never shared by this guy.

  4. Currentl I've found another site and I'm in the process of moving my files. I've been sidetracked by projects, but soon I hope to have news icon_smile.gif

Anyway Scubbly will continue to work till March.

Let me know how it goes for you, I will wait to see how things go with popular opinion. Hopefully I get more comments before it's too late.

  5. To reply to my own blog post, I've asked myself the follow question:

"Will I recognize these movies by looking only at a single iconic frame?"

In my mind, I imagined an iconic image from each movie: the shadow of Nosferatu walking up stairs, the female robot in Metropolis, the monster in Frankenstein, King Kong at the top of the skyscraper, Chaplin being pushed around giant gears, etc.

And so, here's my list once limited to the ones I will surely recognize:

    1922 Nosferatu
    1927 Metropolis
    1931 Frankenstein
    1933 King Kong

    1968 The love bug
    1971 The Big Boss
