  1. Five minutes after bootlegs showed up on eBay?
  2. I'd actually buy that. I mean, it is still an awkward and unfair laserdisk game, but I've got a soft spot for anime girls with green hair.
  3. Play it like it is music, and plug the TI cable into the headphone port.
  4. You got me, Omega. I realized shortly after I posted that I could be interpreting it wrong. But you beat the edit button.
  5. Any tape player with a headphone jack will work for loading. You only need the mic connector for saving. Actually, any THING with a headphone jack will work.
  6. I believe there's speed constraints that make it impractical.
  7. So you're hiring Don Bluth to animate an original title now?
  8. Especially not one with Tunnels of Doom inserted.
  9. You use violence to make some numbers get bigger.
  10. Yes. When I was little, it used to happen with some minor degree of regularity. No idea why.I don't know that it was tied to Extended Basic. Don't recall offhand what carts I saw it happen with. Our p-box had a TI disk controller. That I do know.
  11. Is a 16-bit SAMS design technically possible? You know, get the best of both worlds.
  12. I used to have a Speak & Read, but it died. On the other hand, I have a Speak & Spell Compact.
  13. What are they using for the display? Just a color LCD and a segmented font?
  14. That too. Especially at the edges where the perforations are.
  15. Yeah, but it still doesn't go BRRRRRRRRRRT chunchunchun BRRRRRRRRT as it prints. Feels fake.
  16. Hit scroll-lock to enable "partial keyboard emulation". That regains access to the emulator's functions.
  17. PM sent! Just kidding. I remain very impressed, even though Dragon's Lair isn't my thing at all.
  18. On the other hand, I'm way down near the bottom of the US, and your idea of warmer weather is my "too darn cold". Perhaps even "godforsaken niflheim." So no laughing here.
  19. TIPI likely has some impact, since it IS another route to something floppy-ish. Both approaches have their pros and cons, and diffrent people will make diffrent tradeoffs. The 99 market isn't as large as some other systems, so even just a little bit of competition is going to have a visible effect on sales. I won't say it is the only reason, though. The size of the market also makes saturation an issue. You'll get there faster than, say, a C64 peripheral will. It also isn't too far past Christmas. This is a traditionally slow time for any kind of selling. There may be plenty of market left, it just isn't in a spending mood yet.
  20. Turning the PBox off midway through a Tunnels of Doom session because it was loud and I didn't need the disk drive while playing. I was young and completely unaware of how computers work.
  21. Download multiple copies and swap files between them until you have a single working install.
