OK, i managed to add a photo of the whole serial tag. How is the serial# interpreted correctly?

When having a look at the tag of my 2600 jr i wondered about the serial# details: On the pre-printed area there is an"199" and a stamped"4" = 1994. It looks like a typical production year part of the serial#. But i aleays thought the production was stopped some years before. Maybe this is just a wrong interpretation but i am curious now. The console is a eurpean model. Does anyone know how to read the sign?
