  1. Same thing happened to me. Satdisk got all corrupted and did not work! Twice, with two different. How can you trust a name like that!?!
  2. Here's to a kinder, gentler Atari. How do we make computers fun again, anyway? Someone made a good point that when they first came out the industry was basically inventing itself. Now we have bloated compatibles. And revenge of the nerds.
  3. Congratulations for your victory. There's always a workaround, or a hack.
  4. Thank you Ray. Star Raiders is pretty amazing for only 8k. I will check out the source code.
  5. The light just stays on. One of the absolute best Games and it's shareware.
  6. Sorry Faicuai I made a mistake. Thanks Nezgar.
  7. So then what do you like to compute with?
  8. CyprianK what did necrocia do to make you go back to 6502?
  9. I remember the decomposing of the mushrooms and stuff, finely done. My guess is that it uses hi-res graphics.
  10. the Beatles are great thanks for replies amazing sound from a tiny speaker!
  11. i stand gladly corrected. er actually i am sitting right now 😩
  12. well said, last guy Thorfdbg
  13. Far as i know 'Bug Attack' was the only solitary game that actually played a tune through the A8 internal speaker. Anybody care to confirm? have a great day
  14. i just hope my drive lasts a long time i kind of like floppies
  15. dont get me wrong BITD i did my share of copying i also (well my Dad) bought a lot of software. I guess 'not knowing better' is not really an excuse. in the 80s computers were new and exciting and i guess we all had to have the latest games but now older, i see how messed up it really was i didnt have the cracking skills, i did try to teach myself a JSR $E453 sector scan which accesses the 810 disk drive but now, at age 49 (jeez) i really try to give back (read: pay for original floppys) and recognize just how much hard work it takes. learn from the past live in the present look forward to the future
  16. well AtariGeezer, i actually read some people said that 68K codes it self (!) and that it is orthogonal (right-angled) and it was one of the more favored ASM Languages, it was preferred. but all i know what my instincts tell me and if Star Raiders can be developed in 8 measly kilobytes than i wanna be on that gravy train! yeah Abacus makes good books
  17. Well after some serious soul searching I have decided to return to 6502 and not pursue 68000 assembly anymore. To me, 6502 is much more elegant and more bang per byte. All 56 instructions are 3 character symmetrical and I can really wrap my noodle around its structure and stuff... I was really barking up the wrong tree with 68K! And to share a side note with whoever is reading this i was half asleep and my higher self (you can call that the subconscious or the fact that the soul ascends to Heaven when we sleep, i.e. G-D) was the determining factor that pretty much said to me: 'return to 6502'. So there you have it. I would love some feedback guys. I posted this also in the ST section. but not this part: to anyone who is interested I coded a mini app for the Assembler/Editor cart that will print the 8 bit status register, like this: S V B D I Z C 0 0 1 0 0 1 0 (for example) it gives the selected bits that are set. I just gotta either get a SIO2PC or i dont know what to post the util on AtariAge for youse guys. i think it can be useful

I was really barking up the wrong tree with 68K! {i couldnt' stand 'TRAP' or the arbitrary 3,4,5 character mnemonics and i really hated ADDQ instead of INX !} And to share a side note with whoever is reading this i was half asleep and my higher self (you can call that the subconscious or the fact that the soul ascends to Heaven when we sleep, i.e. G-D) was the determining factor that pretty much said to me: 'return to 6502'. 19. I don't know about you, but I make it a point to use software that does not have the blatant 'cracked by so and so' splash screen. that kind of stuff kinda really irritates me. and then they wonder 'gee, what happened to Atari Corp.?' I mean its great you are an ace hacker and what not but really what happened to morals and decency anyway? And earning a living?
  20. Why does the disk access light stay lit after booting Llamatron, both versions 512K and TRON1MEG? This can't be good for the drive! And I love this game! why oh why? I even have a 512k version straight from England that does the same thing.
