could be power supply but sounds like the fan is not working and then it overheats and shuts down. is the fan running, can you hear it when you turn on the xbox, feel in the back.

 

I'll have to ask him tomorrow to see about the rear fan. I know that the power and eject buttons do not turn on the system at all though. He presses the yellow button on the power supply and then the system powers on.

Hi all, I just found this thread and sent Mike a message. My brother has been having an issue with only being able to turn on the console w/ power cord (and it shuts off after 10-15 min), so I am assuming it's that trace corrosion issue.
