Our neighbor mows his yard from 7pm to 1am and it's driving the wife insane.

Why can you lock an SD card if you can unlock it and lock it again as many times as you want?

You're never wrong to do the right thing...

The thermostat in my house only has two settings. Freezing cold and a billion degrees.

Wound up getting that Fire HD 8. My Nexus 7 is getting old, and other tablets cost way too much. This should be sufficient for late night web surfing.

Today I learned that on a CRT TV that only does 480i and not 480p there is no discernable difference between composite and component video. Unfortunately I learned this after spending $30 on a set of official component cables for my Wii. =P
-
Depends on the TV, some don't even try, some do actually show a hell of an improvement. Component on 480i is morally as good as RGB, now if you send a 480p signal to a TV that can only do 480i I am not really sure what it needs to do, can't display in progressive as it is too fast, cannot even drop each other line because it doesn't work that way .... so I presume it buffers the full screen ... ouch.

Need a new tablet... my Nexus 7 is getting long in the tooth. Any suggestions? Preferably cheap ones?

I'd skip the Fire 8HD (I have one and it's meh), but I'd recommend a Lenovo Tab 4 8Plus (aka LTE) as that rocks (I have one). It's ~200$ for 16GB (this is the only complaint) and an Octacore and Android 7.1
I like it (just disabled the fingerpirnt sensor in the powerbutton as that is garbage).
The presence of a 4G LTE DataSIM slot is really nice (I'm on projectFi and the dataSIMs are free)

Do you have a spare minty fresh condition TI-99/4A stashed away in a closet somewhere that you wouldn't mind selling to someone interested in getting into the TI? If so, feel free to check out my WTB thread here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/272531-wtb-minty-condition-ti-994a-computer-silver-black-version/ =)

No, I was more thinking along the lines that like some of us you're getting consumed and sucked in into wnating to possess these old clunkers just because and in the end having diminishing returns on enjoyment as more and more pass through your hands ... but maybe I was projecting my own state of mind .... nevermind

If you must use the restroom while eating hot wings, remember to wash your hands before unpacking equipment.

I always forget that the difficulty switches on the 7800 are opposite of what the manual says.

Just a heads up I did reviews of some of the new Atari & Sega Flashbacks on my channel

...and wrt the Sega unit you weren't exactly thorough as all the units in the wild are defective and have been panned across the board):

Did you have a fixed unit perhaps?

Just saw the post about the guy finding it on Reddit earlier today, and now it's on Ebay. Atari 2700 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-2700-2600-Prototype-Game-Console-RARE-/292197468017?hash=item4408538771:g:GP0AAOSw4IlZeuT7

I wonder if any handheld will ever match the original Game Boy's longevity? It had games released for it in the US from 1989 to 2001, giving the system a remarkable 12 year run. The 3DS is 6 years old at this point and still has new games coming out for it every month, which is awesome if you ask me, but it's got a long way to go before it catches up with the old gray brick; or the 11 year lifespan of the original Nintendo DS for that matter.

Coleco Holdings' so-called "apology" to the community reads like a Mel Gibson apology to the Jewish community.

Cat got hit and killed by an asshole speeder today. It was a good 8 years buddy, I'm sure as hell going to miss you. Hope you have a nice sunbeam to sleep in, wherever you are.

I had never really given much thought to the premise of Dig Dug before tonight, but what kind of demented sicko kills people with a bicycle pump? That's pretty messed up when you stop and think about it.

I know I want to get my first classic computer in the near future but I just can't seem to make up my mind whether to go with an Atari 800XL or TI-99/4A. Any thoughts?

I just had a call like this today so I figured I should warn people. If someone asks "can you hear me?" hang up immediately. I heard they can record and manipulate your "yes" answer so that it looks like you've agreed to something you didn't.
