And here are the lyrics... Bring those lighters out!
I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance
And I have never seen that dress you're wearing
Or the highlights in your hair that catch your eyes
I have been blind
The lady in red is dancing with me, cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me
It's where I want to be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonight...
Aaahh..... PURE POETRY!!!

Intellivision High Score Club 9# ?

First of all there is no doubt that you are an amazing player, Ignorama.
I have followed some of the high score competitions and was really impressed with some of your scores.
This being said, very often the players who win the competition are those that are the most CONSTANT, that are good at many if not all the games in the competition. So yes, sometimes the winners may not have been the best at all games, but still managed to get decent scores on all games, which in itself is quite a feat!
I agree with you that rules should be clear. I remember that at times all of the sudden the games got an extention for no apparent reason at all, that rules changed mid-game etc... Deadlines and game settings should be respected to keep the competition fair (unless there is a real emergency of course!)
As for the point system, I don't think yours would work to tell you the truth.
It is of the utmost importance to keep the competition interesting and first and foremost FUN! The point here is to replay old games and try to excel at them while having FUN with other members of AA. I don't think that everybody's aim is to get the title perse. With the old formula 1 scoring system there would be gaps too soon between the top 3 and the rest of the players and thus you would end up only having a competition between a couple of people and other players might not even bother playing the games at all. Remember people have jobs and are busy, so they are making an effort to take the time to play the games. Thus maybe the gap between points should be a bit smaller. Just my 2 cents.
Scalpel's idea of prizes sounds like a good incentive 😊
Personally, I don't understand why people would cheat to get say a patch...They are just undermining themselves...
