  1. Thanks for the link. That was my first time reading that. It sounds like with a little polish that could have been a solid game right there.

Am I the only one who pays people to deal with yard work?

No. Grass cutting is typically a good time to listen to music though so I don't mind it. Cleaning gutters? Homey don't play that.

I'm about to make a delivery right after I type this :)

  3. Polygon did a write-up about the book and included a few pages. It looks like a very comprehensive look into the early art. I can't wait for this thing to finally get released! http://www.polygon.com/features/2016/7/4/12083190/inside-the-art-of-atari
  4. I can see how you could interpret it that way. Thanks for the name though. I googled his stuff and it's a very cool style. Sort of a cross between anime and Tron with a bunch of other cool stuff thrown in. Very inspiring. Thanks for the heads-up!

Adding comments on a mobile device apparently behaves completely differently than on a desktop.

Watching Samurai Jack and they worked a Space Ace joke into dialog mentioning a "dragon's lair."

  6. "Where does the other lead?"

  7. "Take the stony path at the fork in the road to the dragon's lair."

  8. DVD came out last week(?) and I finally saw it. Great film. Your review is spot on. Interesting characters you care about, a good story, and a richly detailed environment that begs to be watched again to catch all the goodies. Well done, Disney!
  9. 124,360 Congrats DonPedro! Nice work. Thanks for keeping things going VectorGamer. The MAME hi score challenges are a nice diversion and good reason to fire up the cabinet each week. Looking forward to the next season.
  10. Agreed. It's not just games either. Most software is this way now. Try navigating your way around newer versions of Photoshop, Cinema 4D, After Effects, or anything these days. New features will be introduced but if they're not readily apparent they can go unnoticed for years. The only thing that really does get noticed is when they take familiar items and rearrange them. It's like a game trying to figure out what was changed and what hasn't.
  11. Great game for the 3-day weekend! It's a tough game with more than it's fair share of cheap shots. I'm looking at you, thief. But I always felt it had great replay value and a good balance of fighting vs collecting treasures to obtain points. Plus the Robotron-like dual stick setup is always satisfying to play. Looking forward to this one.
  12. 6707 Who ever heard of driving F1 cars in the snow anyway. That's just dangerous.
  13. 360,560 I wasn't quick enough to snap a pic and there's something wonky with the joystick emulation in my MAME that prevented me from entering initials. Cool game though. Great memories of playing it back in the day. I still feel it's not a legit score when you can start at higher levels. That's just me though.
  14. Awesome! Take my money now! Congrats on accomplishing this. It looks great and I can't wait to get it.
  15. You're right. I wasn't at my machine and I remembered it wrong. It may work the way I explained but I think it's enough just to substitute a joystick for the directional buttons.
  16. Very cool game! This one's all about peripheral vision. The original game uses 4 directional buttons and a fire button. Thanks to the magic of MAME, if you map the fire button to be all directions and map the directions to a joystick, you can really rack up some time on this one.
  17. Edit 104,200 I got some sort of crazy shield that game
  18. "spiraling downward faster than the debris from a collapsing building in Metropolis" That's literary gold right there. This page is likely the closest I'll ever get to the film as I have zero interest in the subject matter. But any film that can spawn the above entertainment is okay with me!
  19. Arcade games are like Pokemon. Gotta catch 'em all! But seriously, do the newer versions of MAME allow for sorting and creating "playlists"? I use an older version of MacMAME that allowed you to create sort files. So even if you have 2000+ ROMs you can always hide what you don't like and focus on favorites. This method allows you to discover new titles which is half the fun I think.
