Tried to run a 7800 game on MESS, couldn't get it to run from command line, couldn't find a good frontend. Why the hell is MESS so user unfriendly? Time to see if Prosystem works...

  I've never found MESS to be as difficult to use as its reputation suggests.
  
  Getting it to work basically involves: unpacking it to a folder, editing the INI file to make sure the default ROM locations and other options are correct, putting the right files in the right places, and invoking MESS from the command line with the correct options. Not that difficult, if you understand folder hierarchies and command-line switches.

  The lack of a GUI may seem annoying, but it's one of the reasons MESS is so versatile.
