Hey guys, Is the game Atlantis with the night photo on the label really that hard to find? I have it in the box along with the instruction manual and $10,000 sweepstake book included. Mom and dad bought it for us for Christmas in 1982. It was bought at Lowes, you know now called Lowes Home Improvement. My dad has worked at Lowes since 1970 and still works there.. actually #20 in time served among over 100,000 employees, I have to give him a plug.. sorry if I seemed to be bragging... Yes, Lowes actually sold electronics and ATARI GAMES> Anyway, I had no idea that this game was that hard to find... I saw the rarity guide info on this game, but it made it appear that this game was not sold in stores, but mine was.... It said that it was sent only to high score winners or something like that and that the high scorers would go to Bermuda to compete in a sweepstakes contest. I have no idea how the one dad bought was sold at Lowes, but mine was. Anyway, I also had the Big Atari instore display kiosk that held all of the games and Atari system, but sadly it was destroyed in fire while in storage. Anyway, I will get the Atlantis game with it's box, instructions, and $10,000 sweepstakes book tomorrow and make a photo of it and post it online at this forum tomorrow night...This is just amazing.... I had no idea that this game was that rare on the list.... I know it isn't really worth any great amount of money.... but still..... Anyway, guys, I now have to brag about my little collection. I have nearly 300 games. All of the ones I bought new are still in their boxes. Others just loose. I just wish I still had my ATARI kiosk..... It was destroyed in a fire back in the early 90's.... DANG
Anyway, any info about the Atlantis II would be greatly appreciated, be sure to check back and look at my photos tomorrow night.. God Bless you all!! Doug -

Anybody else from here in east TN? Back in the late 80's, 1986 or 1987 our largest arcade and bowling alley was destroyed by a huge explosion. the skating rink was spared. The name of the center was TWI-LITE RECREATION CENTER in Morristown, TN. It had over 200 arcade games inside along with a bowling alley, skating rink, swimming pool, can am cars, mini golf, restaurant etc. Man, they had everything in that place. They even had poker machines.....
They had around 20 cherry master poker machines sitting in a row...The business was the largest arcade in east TN and was well known. It was always so crowded. If you wanted to play a game, they had it. They even had 2 of each at times. It was near New Years of 1986 or 1987 or maybe even 1988 that the entire facility was rocked by a huge explosion that was felt 5 miles away. Windows were shattered in houses up to 1 mile away. It was rumored that there were shady business practices going on due to the gambling devices in the building.... it was well known all over town. The blame was put on faulty gas lines, but nothing was ever proven and then all of a sudden, eveything about the case was hush hush and no one ever found out. It was so sad, they had photos of the arcade on the front page of the newspapers. You could see the destroyed video game machines sitting there in ruins..... Burned to a crisp. I remember seeing 2 sit down Turbo machines burned to a crisp. Other games like Centipede, Crazy Climber, Spiders, Rip Off, Star Castle, Vanguard, Wizard of Wor, Space Panic, Pac-man, Ms. Pac-man dozens of pinball machines were all nothing but junk. Now that was a sad day. The skating rink was spared due to a firewall. The skating rink is still in business but the arcade and bowling alley were never built back. the swimming pool was filled in and the mini golf, can am cars are all gone. I just thought some of you guys might remember this place... It was awesome..... Especially because their poker machines PAID OFF.
Now gambling devices are illegal in TN. Dang I would love to play a cherry master:) -
What does your wall say? "Magic something"?And how many games do you have?
"My wall says Magic Moments. It was an old business that a friend had and she closed her store. The sign actually is supposed to be mounted on a building and it lights up if it has electricity run to it. For some reason, people always just give me things.... Kind of like all of my games, they were nearly given to me. I have a total of 8 games, The Phoenix costed me $100.00. It needed a monitor. I paid $385.00 for the new monitor. The Frogger was $150.00. It only needed a power supply. That costed $185.00. The Zaxxon costed me $175.00. It was ready to go. The VS. Slalom costed me $200.00. She was ready to go. The Pole Positions both costed me $75.00 a piece. They were ready to go all except one of them needed a small switch in the Gear Shifter. That switch was given to me at no charge. One of the Pole Positions was found in an abandoned trailer, I found out who owned the land and he told me I could have it for $75.00. She had been in the rain and snow for about 9 months. Very little damage. I guess someone thought she was torn up, because she was stuck in the test mode... It took all of 5 minutes to figure out. She needs some cosmetic work done on her, not much though, suprisingly due to the fact that she was in an old trailer that had not much of a roof and not but 2 walls, but she fired right up as soon as I plugged her in. The Q-Bert was $250.00. She was ready to go. The Joust costed me $120.00, she was ready to go. I cleaned her up a bit tonight. She was real clean inside. So, you see, I have been real lucky, none of my machines costed me much. When I loaded up the Phoenix and took her to the repair center in Knoxville, they were ecstatic. The repair guy offered me $1300.00 CASH for her right on the spot. He said he hadn't seen one in that good of condition in years. The Phoenix also had a spare set of boards in it, so I guess I got 2 Phoenixs' for the price of one, I just need a good empty cabinet for her twin to go in....Good to hear from you...

Hey there fellows..... Just thought I would drop by and post some photos of my Joust after I got her inside and hooked up. I still need to clean her up. She needs to have her monitor overlay glass cleaned and she needs to just be given a bath all over. She also has some money hidden deep inside, that has managed to slip into the base of the cabinet.
She took her place well with my other honeys...
She looks so majestic sitting there in my den. I know I probably bore some people talking about my games, but heck, what does other people talk about, there family problems??? LOL Anyway, I hope I don't bore any of you. I have also included some more of my games. They all need to be played. I just never have enuff time seems like. I have 9 in all. Most of you have probably seen them, but I will show them again. Maybe one day I will get my place cleaned up enough that it will look good enough to show the entire room. Anyway, my Joust is in her nest. She plays great. I will show some more photos in a few days after she has had her feathers washed....
be good men.. Hope you lke my arcade.... Doug -
hey there good people.... Just thought I would drop by and post my latest find at the flea market. I found JOUST. I have been wanting this game for years. We pulled into the flea market this past Sunday and the first thing I saw was JOUST sitting there. It needed a new home. The dude that had it for sale, said he wanted $150.00. I talked him down to $120.00 and then loaded her into my worn out S-10 pickup. Then I had to rush to the nearest Big Lots to buy a tarp to cover her up and keep her dry. It was about to rain. Anyway, The guy said she worked perfectly, and he told the truth. She fired right up and has been played several times. All of her boards look great and well maintained. She only has a couple of cigarette burns to to her control panel, but I will repair that later. She also has a few small scuff marks on her sides, but I think that will wash off. Anyway, here are a couple of photos... I hope you enjoy them. I am the guy in the photos... Enjoy them.....

Here ya go guys... another photo of some of my machines. This was right after I got them. the Zaxxon is a bit dirty in this photo. The Frogger is in great shape.... All of these games are in my den.... I have it fixed up like a real arcade. Black lights, big screen television.. and nothing better than REO Speedwagon, AC/DC, Ratt, and other great 80's hits playing..... I must admit that I also play the cd of Arcade hits, Pac-Man Fever, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Berzerk and more...... I know this will sound a bit weird, but I have my bed also set up in this room. This way I can sleep amongst my games and feel as if I am one of them... LOL! It seems strange at night when everything is off and you can see the games sitting there in the dark.... kind of makes one wonder at all the conversations, fights, and the ghosts of players that have been in front of these games..... if only arcade machines could talk..... Dang, I need a Berzerk machine bad!!!! I will post more of my photos soon. I hope I am not boring the heck out of anybody.... My GF says I tend to do that.. but hey.. she loves my machines too...... How many women can you find that share your obsessions with video games???

Hey fellow coin op lovers!! it's been awhile since I posted here. I was going thru some old photos today and found one that I hadn't posted. It's a photo back in 2001 when I brought my first baby home. This is about 3 hours after I cleaned her up. She worked great!! She had been sitting all alone in an old out of business store in White Pine, TN. Luckily, there was a ATM across the street. I only paid $100.00 for her.... The best thing that came of this deal and great find was that there was a cache of old arcade machines , 5 to be exact... and they are all now mine.... ALL of the machines worked excellent...... Only Zaxxon needed a new Power supply..... The Phoenix machine also had an extra set of PCB boards stored away in her belly...
and guess what??? they work perfectly... Anyway, type in my username on the search section and see my old posts for a complete set of photos of all of my games and my arcade that resides inside my home in Morristown, TN -
I would have been tempted to grab a handful of quarters if they were reachable. LOL! Sure, always carry cash with you. Some people just can't let the site of $100 bills get away from them. He may need extra money and say "what the heck, I will take less for them." I am beginning to think that most people here in East Tennessee are stupid because every game I have bought has been way cheaper than what they should have been. Is the Ms. Pac-Man in great condition??? It may be well worth $800.00. I couldn't believe that I bought Phoenix for $100.00. I laughed all the way home. My buddy and I also laughed our butts off all the way back from Knoxville the day I bought VS. Slalom, due to the fact that it was full of money and the idiot I bought it from was too busy running his mouth a mile a minute to notice that it was full of quarters. LOL!!! Good luck on buying the games. Maybe you can talk them down on the prices. I would love to have a Ms. Pac-Man.

The guy who owns the gas station that is out of business also owns an antique store right up the street from the gas station. I was in his antique store and he told me about the games. I visited him on different occasions and paid him for the games. First, I bought Phoenix, then I bought Frogger and Zaxxon on the same day, then last I bought Q Bert. Pole Position and VS. Slalom were still in use at the flea market when I bought them. They had "for sale" signs on them. So, I paid for them and loaded them up. All of the machines had some amount of money still in them. The VS. Slalom machine had the most in it. It contained over $125.00 in it. I only gave $200.00 for it, so I gues I actually only paid $75.00 for it. The guy at the flea market was selling them for someone else and he had no keys. So, a friend and I loaded them carefully, hoping he would not hear the quarters jingling around inside, he was talking so much , that I guess he wasn't paying attention, because he never opened his mouth and nor did I. So, Me and VS. Slalom, along with my buddy went up the road and didn;t look back!!! LOL! His loss, not mine.

LOL! I loved it. I can watch it over and over. I have no idea why most people hate it. It is one of my favorites. Much much better than most of the garbage that is on tv today such as "reality" based tv shows. What gets me about reality shows is that most Americans are dumb enough to believe that reality based shows are real. They have no clue that they are all scripted. Anyway, Joysticks is an awesome movie!!!
-
Anyone here ever watch the Vestron Video release titled Joysticks??? This is an all time favorite that all videogame fans need to see. There are lots of video games featured throughout the movie in the arcade where everything takes place. Satan's Hollow, Super Pac-Man, Pole Position, Pac-Man, Defender and many many many more!! Great video to add to your collection!!

I hope I am not boring everyone with my pictures of my games. Anyway, here are some photos when I first got my games. This is before they were cleaned up and right after they came off of the truck. They did look pretty rough, but they did still have their charm. Nothing like an arcade game, no matter how rough it looks. I still fall in love with all of them. Hey guys, post some of your photos, I would love to see them. Anyone have a Vanguard machine they want to sell???
-
Here ya go. I went and took some photos to show where some of my games were found. The Phoenix Game, which is my favorite, was found at the gas station/store in White Pine TN. It had sit in the store for 17 years. My Frogger, Zaxxon and Q Bert also had been at this same location. The store closed in 1993. One of the Pole Position machines and the VS. Slalom machine came from the Green Acres Flea Market (old, out of business discount supercenter) in Knoxville, TN. They had been there for at least 10 years. I can remember seeing them that far back. The other Pole Position came from the abandoned mobile home. I was unable to get a photo of it due to overgrowth of vegetation. Anyway, here are my photos and also a photo of me and my favorite game Phoenix. By the way, Anybody, have a Vanguard machine that they would like to part with????

LOL! No one can ever guess what the letters say. I will tell you what they say. I am a professional videographer. The name of my business is Magic Moments Video. The sign was given to me by a friend who had a business named Magic Moments. Her store went out of business and the letters (sign) were removed from the storefront. She was going to throw it away. But, of course, I had to have them. Hell, they were free. Actaully the entire room where the arcade is is my own personal arcade. I have changed it around some now. At one time, I had all of my games sitting in a circular pattern and had a queen size bed right in the middle of all the games. That way, I could always be near my games, even while I slept, not to mention when you have a friend over for some (fun). Nothing like getting cozy on a bed while Phoenix, Frogger and the other games are watching you!! LOL! In my world, my games are alive! They are like a good ole friend!! The entire room, is highlighted by black fluorescent lights and mirrors that make it like a real arcade. Loud music and a big screen tv, set it off!! My favorite thing is the black lights. They make everything glow. I will get you some more photos soon!! I will also get you some photos in a day or so showing where the games come from. You would not believe where some of these games had been sitting since 1985. They were right under my nose in a store that was out of business. Phoenix was in this store and I passed by this at least 3 times a week. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my tour of my arcade.. I need to set my bed back up in the arcade, so that I can be with my games at all times!!
-
Hey man!! Yeah, the Pole Position on the left had been a Pole Position II at one time. The artwork behind the steering wheel is badly faded, but you can still make out the different tracks that were part of the PP II gameplay and there was also schematic books, service manuals and conversion manuals inside the machine. The reason I have two PP machines is due to the fact that I saw the one machine sitting in the mobile home and I just couldn't bear to leave it sitting there. I guess I have a big heart!!! LOL!!

Hey there everyone!! I thought I would post a couple of photos of some of my games. I hope you enjoy them!! I call this my own personal arcade. I just got Q-Bert about a month ago. I only paid $250.00 for him!! The Phoenix was only $100.00. VS. Slalom costed $200.00, Zaxxon was $100.00, the first Pole Position was $75.00 , the 2nd one costed $200.00. Frogger costed $100.00. I think I got some great deals!! They are all in really good condition. Frogger, Phoenix, and Zaxxon came out of an old store that was out of business. The Phoenix is pretty close to looking new!! Especially the sideart, it is in near mint condition!! Q-Bert came out of a barn. One of the Pole Position machines came out of an old abandoned mobile home. The machine had been exposed to the weather (rain, snow etc) and it still works perfectly. The other Pole Position and VS. Slalom came out of an indoor flea market in Knoxville, TN. They were both still in service and being used when I bought them, and guess what???,,,,, They were both full of money. So, I got some of my investment back!!!! The Pole Position that came out of the mobile home was a lot of fun to remove. The mobile home sat about 4 ft off of the ground. The machine had to be tilted on it's side and slid down onto the ground. This was quite a feat for two boney ass dudes that literally would sell their souls for an arcade coin op!!! I have no idea what the machine was doing in the mobile home, but the owner had no idea either, but he did want the money for it. I guess someone thought the machine was torn up because it was in the test mode. It only took me about 5 minutes to have it up and running. I choose to leave my games original. I do clean them and I do replace any mechanical parts that affect gameplay, but I will not shop a machine. I kind of like to leave them just as they were in the arcade!! I hope you enjoy my photos!! This is my arcade!!

LOL! thanks for saving me the embarrassment. LOL! Mine does not have the white label on it...... I am glad you included the link about the game... I did not see it. Anyway, sorry for all the excitement.... I feel like some kind of fool now..
LOL!
