  1. Can an Atari Driving Controller be used with a Vectrex? What modifications are required to make it work? Also do you need modified versions of the games to work with it? I know that a 2600 paddle can be modified to work with veccy but wondering about using the driving controller as a spinner.
  2. also recommend looking at the code examples here http://pelikonepeijoonit.net/files/vec/coders.html
  3. I think its the 3d model rotation that is the problem - thats why we dont have a version of Star Wars either... there is Star Ship/Trek but it is not the same. i wonder it it would be possible for some enterprising person to design a cart that can have a co-processor to handle the maths involved? I see someone has tried driving a vectrex monitor using an Arduino i know that this is not the same but ultimately i think the vectrex is not powerful enough for real time smooth 3d animation - although the monitor is probably capable.
  4. yes all done in assember (although i think it is possible to use C also) 6809 seems very good processor with more addressing modes than 6502. I am teaching myself 6809 using this book http://geneslinuxbox.net:6309/gene/Genes-os9-stf/6809%20Assembly%20Language%20Programming%20-%20Leventhal.pdf and using information from this web page: http://www.playvectrex.com/designit_f.htm plus lots of reading Mine Storm and also other peoples source codes I use the excellent ParaJVE emulator and ParaJVD debugger. more vectrex programmers the better!
  5. Hi just a quick announcement that I am currently in the process of writing a version of Beamrider for the Vectrex. This is my first attempt at a vectrex game so it might take a while to complete! Anyway here is video of what I have so far (eg. not much) Cheers! if you are a Vectrex fan why not join our facebook group "Vectrex fans unite!" https://www.facebook.com/groups/104852679725118/
