When I put in a cartridge, it turns on fine, but I'm not sure how to actually start a game. The buttons on the module work fine, but when I use the CV controllers they don't do anything? Do I need different controllers or something?

Try rebuilding your power switch, if you haven't done so already.. I had the same exact issues and was told the same thing about a bad RF module, however the power switch rebuild took care of it.
I had Yurkie do a test and clean so my power switch should be fine.

Yurkie--if I have you install this it will take care of my RF module issue? (giving me black and white screen at worst, extremely de-saturated colors at best)

Yurkie--how much just to have my RF module fixed? Versus the composite video mod? Thanks.

Contact coleco_master , I trow at him about 12 consoles
Sounds good--thanks!

I need a clean, completely working CV console only. I have the controllers and power supply already. The one I bought off ebay was "working" but the RF module appears to be bad, so it probably needs replacing. Not sure if I want to pay for shipping both ways to have it fixed if I can get a nice clean one from someone here that works perfectly. Let me know if you have one and what your asking price is. Thanks--Mike.

The CV I just got off ebay has this issue--i may or may not try this as I am sending to Yurkie to get all checked out and cleaned, but thanks for the tip!

It's not really supposed to "click" per say. but you should feel a certain contact when you push the switch all the way to the top.
Yeah, I know what you mean--i couldn't think of the rights words. When I turn the CV the power button moves like it's in quicksand. Very mushy.

Try wiggling the power switch around a little bit. It may need torn apart and cleaned. I had picture issues with mine and after cleaning and regreasing the switch it works perfect.
This makes some sense as the the switch doesn't "click" when you turn it on, it just moves up. How do I get the CV apart to check it?

Something weird happened the last time I played (this morning). All of sudden, the color saturation came back, but then disappeared a minute later. Also, I started to get "ghost" images and some general flickering. Do you think this leans more toward the power supply, or away from it?
-
Even if the power brick is not the problem I would want to go buy a new one anyway because a taped up falling apart one is not worth burning down your house when I think you could get an new one for like 15 or 20 bucks.
Good point! I will def get one.

I recently won a CV on ebay with a few games (and a couple super action controllers), and have some questions:
1) The color is pretty faded and I read that the power supply might have something to do with it. The power supply that came with it was duct taped and when I took it off it looked like the big box was coming apart so I may need a different one. How exactly does the power supply affect color saturation? Seems weird.
2) I need some of the old games I had when I was a kid...where is the best place to get them? I know Ebay is out there, but any place else? Does anyone here sell them? I'm mainly looking for Popeye, Omega Race, DK Jr, and Miner 2049er. Am also interested in Cosmic Avenger, War Games, Time Pilot, BumpNJump, Rocky Boxing.
3) Can anyone recommend some of the better games (besides the ones I'm looking for).
Thanks for your help! I can't wait to get back to CV again!

I did plug the controllers into the expansion module and nothing worked.
