DD disk images formatted by MyDOS show the same bug (only 8 files) on Altirra. Exactly same as DOS 2.0D. The case is the same for MACH DOS v2.1 XL DD images . Only show 8 files. madi

Hi phaeron while I was working on APX- FAMILY BUDGET software, I noticed couple of strange things when working with Atbasic v1.25. When starting the ATR image with Atbasic , the autorun.sys file in the disk loads to DOS directly (no basic). However, when the auto autorun.sys is loaded via ATARI BASIC rev C, it loads and waits for a key press then continues the loading process. Also: When running "BUDGET" file from the ATR image, Atbasic gives an error 129 at line 80. It looks as the error originally occurs at line 55 (error 137). And since line 55 has trap on error, it goes to line 80 instead of line 100 as it is suppose to. With ATARI BASIC, the "BUDGET" file runs fine. Thank you phaeron for your own time that you spend to improve Altirra. Maybe, you are aware of the following issue: When dropping files that have no extension (such as MUD) directly to the disk image via the Altirra's "Disk Explorer", all the remaining spaces in file directory are left at zeros (original state). This will prevent file renaming or deleting. Is there a simple fix to fill the remaining characters with $20 instead of leaving them at 00 when directly adding files to the ATR image? madi

For WIN 8.1 x64, I found only 2 installed updates related to windows system update (not security updates) on my computer: 1. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2995388 Installed (21OCT2014) October 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2. But no mentioning to FTDI drivers.. Please check this one. 2. There is another update but has no update number and has no information whatsoever (22OCT2014) for: Synaptics - Other hardware - Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad I am sure that MS had stopped updating WIN-XP. All updates are related to products other than Windows systems ( i.e. MS office 2007 and later versions), MS visual studio, etc. Note:I have just checked all FTDI related files in my computer, and I did not find any was added/modified after 16SEP2014.

Thank you phaeron for your kind reply. IMOO, H-device is potentially, a very versatile option in Altirra since I am dealing with multilingual software environment (Arabic, English,Urdu and Farsi). Hi phaeron It looks to me that MAINMENU.LST file has more to reveal. As I had mentioned before, I was modifying the "Home Finances" software for Arabic localizing. I thought it will be easier to use "H" function In Altirra, since I used to "LIST" and ENTER" the files very often ( and view them Memopad, and MS Notepad with Arabic font enabled). Then I noticed that when ENTERing the file that has been LISTed to H6: will show garbled data only(along with some Arabic phrases) without line numbers. But when I opened the same file in Memopad, the line numbers and other data structures were shown correctly. Next, I saved the same file to ATR image and tried to ENTER it. I only got READY, nothing else. When I copied the file to screen (from DOS) I discovered that Altirra list data with windows/DOS new line number characters (0D - oA). This solved the puzzle of showing lines in Memopad but get garbled in ATARI. That was because Memopad has the end of line character checked on Windows/DOS Off course, I will continue with the normal List/Enter from disk until solution is obtained madi

Hi phaeron I was modifying the Atari APX software "FAMILY FINANCES" when I encountered the error shown in the pictured attached. The error occurs only when running AtBasic (tested versions: 0.99 p to 1.2). The error always occur on line 640 and the Entering of file is terminated (the basic MAINMENU is attached in the tokenized form ). The error points at the EXPTOT array. Is it possible that AtBasic interprets it as "EXP= Exponential function" ? madi MAINMENU.zip

You are correct. The total number of disks are 59 and they are included in the attached ZIP file. However, they are named 1 to 28 based on issue numbers by TWAUG. As an example, disk #15 consists of 4 disks (a to d) and most of the issued disks consist of side A and B. Thank you for your kind input. madi

Smurfs (Labibah and Smurfs) is a cartridge educational Arabic game produced by NAJM (aDawliah) in 1988 (Amman, Jordan). The game is compiled Basic (can't tell what type of compiler though) Smurfs and Labibah is an educational Math game is quite good one. It has 6 choices as it can be seen in the picture. It teaches counting in ascending and descending order. The game has several difficulty levels (up to 4) in each category. For example in the Addition category, there is the Demo where it gives the addition (summing) basics and summing rules in addition to the with the general exercises choices. The Math game category is really interested with different difficulty levels. The math game part is very similar to "Hangman" basic game, where you have to save the Smurf by going through several exercises and collect points in less than 60 seconds.
