  1. It seems that my English vocabulary is becoming ancient. I had to look further for the meaning of "BS" to understand the tone of the message. I like the way of how to make the SIO cable ends explained by @mechanerd. However, I always stand away from Atrimax like/dislike issue. Honestly speaking, it only brings members apart and never change things as wished. I wrote the above to show my supersize of how easy things can be overlooked or misunderstood. Well.. madi
  2. When the game is left on the title (Demo) screen, the game always crash Altirra after the second round.
  3. It is written "Assembler" not assembly. I am not a programmer, but i know for sure that, the debugger part for MAC/65 (DDT) is using RAM from $80 to $AF. Quote: "The DDT manual gives more information on this subject, but as a general guide you must avoid locations $80 through $AF (in zero page) and the memory location located within the bounds displayed by the SIZE command" Page 13, Section 2.5 _DDT Mac-65 with DDT manual Rev 1.2 madi
  4. Hi Mclaneinc Just asking. Is possible for you to contact John regarding the development status of his Ultimon II? It was almost complete. Hope to hear good news. madi
  5. The company code should be : BENSON as stated in the Sample Data Base disk. I removed the protection, but did not thoroughly test the software package. The unprotected "Atari Book Keeper - Reporting.ATR" disk image is attached. madi Atari Book Keeper - Reporting.ATR
  6. The protection is based on Sector 365 ($016D). The Basic file "BOOT" in disk image "Atari Book Keeper - Data Entry.ATR" has the protection code (sector #140 on the disk).( line 32760 in the BOOT file). Attached is unprotected "Atari Book Keeper - Data Entry.ATR" PRO disk image that was provided by AtariGeezer . Please note that the Software was not tested further madi Atari Book Keeper - Data Entry.atr
  7. I ran the demo under Altirra 2.99 test 10, Windows 10 The demo doesn't run with 256K memory (Rambo) The demo loads and run with 320K memory (and higher - 576K and 1088K) In both PAL and NTSC modes, pressing any key temporarily, the demo switches between the loop version (red) and single demo (grey). Both versions of the demo will crash Altirra if the demo is left running to the end. 1- Any key pressed: 2- No key pressed: madi
  8. Sorry, the resistor value can be from 100 to 300 ohms or a small diode I was thinking of the proceed line (SIO 9 pin) Duhhh ..
  9. I am sure you are not wrong about use of RTS as a handshaking method. Actually, you can also use it as 1050-to-PC (10502PC) device via ProSystem software. This will enable you to connect the device directly to your disk drive without the need for Atari computer. However, you will need to make the following modifications to be able to do that. 1- You need to connect the Red wire of the FTDI FT232RL USB cable (+5V) to the Atari SIO pin #10 through a 5.6k resistor (in line connection), because Atari disk drive needs +5V which will be supplied from the FTDI FT232RL USB cable. 2- You need to switch the two data lines: To connect to Disk drive: Pin on cable goes to Pin on SIO ------------ ------------ GND 4 or 6 RXD 3 TXD 5 RTS 7 This can be accomplished by another switch in order to switch between the two configurations (SIO2PC and 10502PC). 3- Switch for CTS/RTS handshaking lines. (You have that already) I am thinking of building this dual setup using this cable. I will use CD74HC4053E (TRIPLE 2-CHANNEL ANALOG MULTIPLEXER/DEMULTIPLEXER) inside the Atari SIO Plug, thus eliminating the need for physical switchers and the bulky box. Hopefully, I will comeback with a successful story within 2 months (order delay) or less. madi
  10. Level42 "that ad clearly shows that women are second grade human beings in countries like Saudi Arabia". What made you sure about that? Ad picture?. Ask yourself (honestly), What do you know about that country's habits and customs. Media tells you that his picture is a clear evidence of racism? I am honored to be a Saudi. I have read your previous note and simply ignored it. I am responding now, because you are trying to make another (LOCKED thread). If you are interested in politics and you want to curse Saudis and thier country, you are in luck. There are many thousands of websites that you will find interesting. Join them shout, empty your anger or whatever hot feeling you might have. Please :Level42, keep Atariage out of that. Keep it as it was intended. Enjoy all the creation, invention and help that our respectful and gifted member provide. Share your knowledge with others. Keep Atari alive Thank you
  11. Hi brenski I am not 100% sure of the accuracy of my writing, Only aDawliah management can ascertain that. I can only speculate that they ran out of the correct (newer) Arabic keyboards during the assembly of the new batch and forced to use the older keyboards of the single letter “G” (ل). Examine the following picture of the Arabic Typewriter. It hash correct letter arrangement. This suggests that they made an error while engraving the Arabic key “ل”. The letter “لـ” is the letter that was supposed to be engraved. This will mach with all the letters in the 2 lines of the next picture: To correct for this mistake, they made another mistake ( I think). They took all the key “G” that had the Arabic letter “ل” and engraved the letter “لـ” on top of it, which was supposed to be reversed (see the picture of the typewriter). If I were you, I will look at the bright side. It is highly possible that you have one of the rarest NAJM65XE that have the a later 130XE 4-chip mobo with the older Keyboard. madi
  12. The word نجم consists of 3 letters: ن - ج - م. They are either come at the end of the word or typed alone, the above letters identical to: N - J - M in English Wen these three letters are connected they become نـ - جـ - م the shape of the letters in Arabic changes according to its position in the word. This produces the so very rich and beautiful Arabic calligraphy/fonts. Literally, unlimited. madi
  13. Well, here is a free Arabic lesson NAJM = نجم Is referred to STAR. e.g. Look at this STAR in the sky. So, "Vega" is a STAR/نجم The plural of STAR/ نجم is STARS/ نجوم In English, a celebrity is a STAR and in Arabic it is also called نجم I would like to clarify the actual meaning and structure of the word نجمة نجمة is for a single female of نجم (which is for a single "male" name) In Arabic adding the letter (Ta'a) "ة" or "ت" (T in English) to the end of so many names or verbs or adjectives, will change the words from a male to female . Example: (Human/ انسان to Human/ انسانة) Thus: نجم is a single "male" Star نجمة is a single "female" Star نجمان are for two Stars (male) نجمتان are for two Stars (female) نجوم are the plural of نجم ) male نجمات are the plural of نجمة) female And there are a lot more About نجم madi
  14. What you program is yours. You have the right to protect it form unauthorized people in any way you feel suitable. BUT I believe that you have gone too far by accusing Atariage community members of being traitors and thieves. Why do you have that tendency to intimidate peoples? Stop it please. madi
  15. Same here Win10 x64 and winXP 32.

  17. Sorry, I overlooked it. Congratulations on your daughter wedding. Wish her a happy and successful life. madi
  18. You are right DrVenkman Jindroush's Atari Cartridge Dumping Project gave more attention to detailed information on Cartridges such as packaging, label variations, photo, boards/hardware, cartridge headers/memory arrangements, etc. and not the software dump of the Cartridges madi
  19. An archive of Jindroush site is at Atarimax website. There is a nice article made by @dhor at Atarionline.pl where he had some Arabic Atari software to show: HERE. It depends on where you live. If you live in Egypt, you may have the best (although minute) chance to get some of the rear ones. I stopped by at ADawliah store in Jeddah in APR 2016 to ask for the faith of Atari Najm. As expected they had no clue of what ATARI NAJM meant at all. Good luck in your venue of searching. If you get some interesting findings, please post them here at Atari age. madi
  20. Caution: I do not have that Basic Breakout Board (FTDI FT232RL) type. I highly recommend that you test polarity (+/_) by a multi mater before going any further. There are several ways you can add an external Led(s) to your board. I will try to describe two of them only: One LED only (red or green , etc.) You need two wires. The first one should be connected to Atari GND pin (SIO4) or (the GND of the breakout board) to the short leg of the LED ( - ) via a 100-220 ohm resistor. i.e. GND point --> Resistor --> short pin of the LED. The other wire should be cumming from CTS pin on the board (Command pin #7 on Atari) to the long pin (+) of the LED. i.e. CTS --> Long pin of the LED The led will pulses whenever command is set. Tow LED (red and blue as an example) see the Picture. Note: the negative point should be taken from the other side of the resistors (cut trace side) that are labeled (102 ) Also, use 2.5mm LED or smaller for best results. madi
  21. Turbo Dos v2.1 with Utilities and help file! This is an interesting DOS. I got the disk image from Mr. Bacardi's website. Quote: "a very good Dos that can handle SD/MD/DD/QD This is the complete system-disk with all utilities!" I made a dirty translation of the "HELP.EXE" file which is in German. The PDF is inside the zip file. madi TURBO-DOS XE 2.1.zip
  22. Edit ... Sorry, the TextWriter is for Atari ST. Although it has some functions similar to the TextWriter for 8 bits, it is totally advanced. Please ignore the text file.
