Welcome purmike to Atari community. I bet you, you have been working very hard during the last few weeks at the new project and for that, we appreciate the great efforts you are putting in. With regards to the command line switches , I am not aware of such list in existence. I tried to search for some info but with little use. But I think that ATARI800 switches can be used by ATARI800WIN plus (at least most of them) either by creating a front line application or use the Windows Command prompt to pass them. I tested several of the switches by my self successfully e,.g Atari800Win.exe -atari <filename> Atari800Win.exe -run <filename> Atari800Win.exe -basic_rom <filename> Atari800Win.exe -cart <filename> Also, find attached, a text file of command lists used by Atari800. Thank you once again madi Startup Switches for atari800.txt

It appears that RodLightning already pointed out to the fixing in his post, where he installed a red wire from PIN #11 of the breakout board (CTS) to the back of the board (soldered it at CTS point). Alternatively, since the CTS line is damaged, you can solder the wire to PIN #09 which is for DSR handshaking. See image: Beside genuine FTDI chips (which are the standard), I recommend trying one of those. Tested and perfect. They are realy tiny that can fit nicely in SIO plug. Dimensions are 19mm X 10 mm Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-V2-0-MICRO-FT232RL-USB-to-TTL-Serial-Breakout-Best-/311586161695?hash=item488bfb841f:g:YDgAAOSwZd1Veq5p Note: FT232RL chip is on the back side of the board. madi

I managed to collect some extra pits and pieces of the ATARIMODS archive "http://www.wolfpup.net/". However, there are missing links and pictures i couldn't find during my search. Part 2 of the following link is missing. A SmartIDE mod for the XL/XE series (Part 1 & Part 2) Pictures are missing from the link: TTL Video For The Classic Atari (second page.. 8bit-ttl2.html) Pictures are missing from the link: A hard reset switch for the 400/800 computers I assembled the attached archive using MSWORD. So, it is not in its best layout/format. madi Clarence Dyson AtariMods.zip

Thank you rdea6 . I spent a lot of time trying to gather sources (loose ends at pigwa.net). I found another link :http://web.archive.org/web/20050209151624/http://www.geocities.com/atarimods, but many links were missing/broken. madi

Problem with David Bohlke's "Blocked" on a XEGS
Madi replied to SumerNivek's topic in Atari 5200 / 8-bit Programming
@SumerNivek Since I had no Analog software disk 01-1981, I had to type-in the short listing. The game runs fine with no bugs. I think you made a typo. Check your lines with the typed in attached listing or load the game from the ATR imaged provided by rdea6 . The typed in game is attached as basic LST format, Thank you rdea6 , You are always there when someone needs help. madi BLOCKED.LST -
Thank you drac030 for the valuable update. I noticed that the SDX binary image / update ATR for "MyIDE II" is corrupted. This makes any attempt to download other SDX images combination along with "MyIDE II" to become corrupted. It may need to be reuploaded. madi

Sorry, didn't notice that I had attached the unprotected file. Please find the correct unprotected ones. Mar Tesoro_Unprotected_Good.atr.atr

The attached files in ATR are unprotected. You can copy them to other disk and list them. Also, once the game is loaded and run, just hit RESET key and list it. I tried not to alter the file contents. You can make CAS out of the files if you you wish. madi Mar Tesoro_Unprotected.atr

Do you mean this: Newest version of Altirra Basic and manual? madi

From time to time, life shows us few more special ways to appreciate it. Whenever people’s joy comes out of giving joy to others, then life must be appreciated. Let me express my gratitude to you Michael for the time and money, thoughts, Ideas and emotions you spent in these projects. I am sure that Atari Age community is proud to have such members. I regret that English is not my mother language, but have to say THANK you Michael. madi

Unfortunately Not. I never had a real BlackBOX. I just was learning how it works (under emulation environment) and experimenting with its capabilities. I also wish if Altirra can handle "real" peripherals such as "Disk drives", real printers, etc. The bottom line is that it is up to Avery to add such devices to Altirra. I thank him very much for the best Atari emulator out there. madi

While I was setting up BlackBox under Altirra (not so fun but successful ), I observed that Altirra crashes (black screen) whenever BlackBox device is installed in the Emulator while running under Ultimate 1MB (both Bios v1.02 and 1.08). Black screen (crash) = True .. If: BackBox present "AND" U1MB --> PBI BIOS =Enabled OS: Stock XL Hi speed OS Qmeg Other setup that has no effect on the "black screen": - SIO drive: HSIO or Disabled for bios 1.08 ( High-Speed SIO: Drives 1-4 or Disabled for bios 1.02) - SpartaDos X: Enabled or Disabled. ------------------ System Boots normally when; BackBox device is not present "OR" U1MB --> PBI BIOS =Disabled OS: Doesn't matter -------------------- Note: Altirra will boot normally when selecting OMNIMON XL as the OS regardless if PBI Bios is Enabled “AND” if BlackBox device is present. However, U1MB Setup screen becomes garbled under U1MB bios v1.08, (for v1.08, Setup screen show normal pages). madi

I may try it and test it once I make the cable. The XFormer cable can be made easily. One end of the cable should be an Atari SIO plug and the other end will be a male parallel plug. Then connect the male end of the Xformer cable to one of the widely available USB to Parallel printer cables. this will allow the new computers to utilize the XFormer cable. I think. Note: The two cable solution is for people who do not wish to destroy their USB-to-Parallel Printer cable. madi

Than you UNIXcoffee928 for bringing such important subject. Sure, this is one of the really needed features that Atari emulators still do not have. @ Michael, did you have a look at this project: Software/hardware (Raspberry Pi) to provide an easy to use printer interface to allow connecting vintage computers and equipment to any modern printer such as a USB or network printer. madi

Thank you russg for the MIO manual. I spent some time converting the manual to text in order to rearrange the pages in simple continuous form. Although I tried my best, I can't guarantee that the conversion process is error free. madi Edit: Also, attached the a ZIP document file for MS Word if any one is interested in further typesetting/modifying. In my continue of searching for a good Atari file management program, I have approached Mike the author of the C64-Archiv. http://www.purmike.de/documents/c64archiv_en.html I asked him if he is willing to port his famous software archive program for C4 or make a similar one for ATARI. I am happy that he took my request seriously and positively. I believe that with the usual help and support from Atariage community, we will have an excellent file management for Atari computers. As far as I know, Mike has already have a username: purmike Let us give purmike a warm Welcome to Atari community. madi

That is true for Altirra x64 v2.8 test 43 (WINDOWS 10 x64). It just crash. However, the game executes and works just fine with Altirra v2.50 (WINDOWS 10 x64). Didn't test other versions. madi

I did not remove the RF shield off from my 800XL. I used it as ""a fixture" to make pressure on the U1MB board and cables so they do not move (firm in place). I do not have other add on modification devices on board. I just but the RF shield back and forgot all about it. No drilling and no special mounting. Never had an issue. madi Edit: I soldered the 4 wires directly on U1MB board to avoid the height added by the jumpers (if used). I covered the soldering spot with a piece of a thick paper to avoid direct contact with RF shield.

Slight correction to .LST file: line 180 should read: 180 ON A GOSUB 400,450,500,550,600,650,700,750,800,850,900,950,200 -
Excellent way to simplify starting Altirra for new commers.. Really nice Drag and drop works for basic files. Also, Altirra will recognize .BAS files and will turn on BASIC if it is not already on. madi

True.. this FTDI clone breakout board is the one I used to build my SIO2PC/10502PC Dual-USB device. It has all extra pins such as RXL/TXL (for external LEDs) and DSR/CTS handshaking lines. In addition, it has 6 pin panel (VCC, GRD, CTS, DTR, RXD and TXD) which is all what you may need to build SIO2PC or 10502PC device. The drawing/connection in post #16 applies. The device can be mounted inside the Atari computer (SIO2PC) or inside the 1050 drive (SIO2PC) or even as 10502PC but the Atari computer must be disconnected from the line. Actually, I built my first FTDI based breakout (SIO2PC only) inside the disk drive (at the pack side as see in the picture): madi
