  1. So here is a strange one!  Been having a hard time trying to find a working copy of Spy vs Spy and none seem to work.  Even on Patari's site the one on there doesn't work right.  Locks up once it starts.  I spent some time trying to hunt down different versions and the only one that works is the Pasti version, and some of the others might start but they all seem to crash right after the game begins before you leave the first room.  (see screen shot)  Anyone have a working copy?

Spy vs Spy II and III seem to work perfectly from here btw:

  2. Yes if you have a Spanish keyboard you need a Spanish TOS otherwise the keyboard will be in English/USA.  TOS 1.4 is a nice upgrade with a snappier GEM and better support with FAT12 disks.  Some very old games might not work, but there are not many and those have been fixed to work on newer TOS. (Arkanoid is one)   If you get a 6 chip TOS set it would be plug and play.  See if you can find someone to burn you a set or check out Exxos web site to see if he sells them for older ST's.

Hi, I'm looking for an XEX rom download of this game 'Crypts Of Terror' for the Ultimate Cart in my 800xl. Enjoyed this game a lot back in the 80s but can't find file format anywhere that's compatible with my Ultimate Cart. I've tried the conversion tools too without any joy. Supported file formats are CAR, XEX, ROM and BIN. If anyone knows of a download of any on these formats anywhere or can create one for me or advise how to create/convert one that works with the Ultimate Cart, ideally XEX format, that would be fab.

    It's on Homesoft's site.

  4. I think the ST version is descent.  I think the 800 version was amazing and at the time groundbreaking.  Prince of Persia as well.  (nice to see an 800 port being made!)  But I think the issue on the ST version is that the game did not have the wow factor we got on the 800 version.  Would of been hard to recreate that on the ST version IMHO.   The game btw was ported for the Amiga for anyone that wants to try it that might not have a Atari ST.

The compatibility is actually quite high. I have played literally hundreds of .d64 disk images without issue. The loading is extremely fast though, so if you are nostalgic for the original 1541 slow load times this product is not for you ;)

I have the BackBit for my Commodore 64 and could not get hardly any .D64 disk images to work.  .PRG and .T64 work great though.  And most older 16k Cart ROM files too.
