  1. One small bump with lowered prices before I cross-post to other storefronts.
  2. Happy Birthday, Al! Thanks for all that you do for AtariAge. What a great website.
  3. Had a wonderful xmas with my gf and cat. Couldn't see my folks this year but we had a warm, quiet day together. Can't wait to try out my Switch Pro controller!

The Pro Controller is so good. so so good.  (imo the best one for the Switch)

  4. I stopped trying to collect for anything other than a couple of much more modern systems (Wii, Xbox 360 [which is dirt cheap right now]) quite some time ago once I got my Harmony Encore. I have some solid attachment to both of the latter systems that I just don't have with Atari since its heyday was well before my time. I still use my 2600 regularly, though! Love the thing. But I don't collect for it and have sold off just about all of my old carts, I think.
  5. Nice—that's about what I paid for mine.
  6. One thing I love about my 2600 is the relative simplicity of the games: they lend themselves to short work breaks rather than demand 2-hour game sessions, as many modern RPGs tend to (which I do love, but they take me 8-10 months to finish—looking at you, Skyrim).

I hear people talking about how the latest game is "good for 30+ hours of gameplay" and think - how the heck do you play the same game for 30 hours and not get bored out of your skull?  I find most games, I'll fire one up for 20 minutes and then I want to play something entirely different.

That's one of the things I love about Retro in general.  Lots of quick fun games.  I just haven't been able to find time to get into the more involving games.  Modern or even retro...  Even the older RPGs I loved, I haven't been able to find the time to dig in to...  That said, I did just get Nox Archaist for the Apple II, so I will have to try to find some time...  But as great as I am sure it is, it wouldn't surprise me to if I end up playing some space invaders clones in short bursts more... ;-)

  7. I just finished Gears of War 2. Outstanding campaign—really outshined the first one, IMO. Even though cover shooters can get a bit repetitive, they did a superb job shaking things up with varied scenery and set pieces. An all-around fantastic experience.

  9. I just started Windwaker HD! First time playing Windwaker. Fun so far! Really looking forward to this journey. The last Zelda game I played was A Link Between Worlds.
  10. I appreciate all of your replies! While the price of a PSP 3000 in excellent, minty condition is a bit of a put off on my budget, it seems like it has several titles, mostly RPGs, that I'd like to eventually get around to. I suppose I should put out a call for one in the WTB forum, and see if I can snag some titles I've come across that I'd like to play (Tactics Ogre, FF Tactics WotL, Syphon Filter, the God of War games...)
  11. I find myself in possession of some PSP games in my library that I got in a lot. Unfortunately I can't play them because, well, I don't have a PSP. Ys The Oath of Felghana Ys Seven Crimson Gem Saga Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade Brave Story New Traveler Knights in the Nightmare Disgaea 2 I've never had a PSP before. I guess I should be on the market for a 3000 since that was the last model (right?), but can anyone lay out the pros and cons of PSP gaming in 2020? What the best games are that aren't an absolute fortune, whether it's worth getting one now, if there are any necessary refurbishments I should be aware of? Do you still use your PSP? What do you like about it?
