  1. I bought a Sears Tele-Sixer that is modded with s-video, and lemme tell you -- the difference between it and my RF Junior is staggering. I can't see myself ever going back.
  2. I can definitely see how well-made they are, no doubt about that. Yeah, if I were ever to get one, I would never go into the AES, just the MVS due to the prices. Hmm, I may get in touch with him. Though I have a feeling "cheaper" may still be out of my price range, haha! No harm in poking around I suppose! Thanks for the help.
  3. Pretty bummed that CMVS systems are so expensive... $530, and that's not even including an arcade stick... Love checking out these videos though!
  4. Criterion Collection Blu-rays make some older films look pretty fantastic.

Not just Criterions. The movie studios like MGM, FOX and WB are well equipped to push high quality transfers of old flicks. Check out Ben-Hur or The Ten Commandments. Criterion has some good marketing though, I'll give the that. They offer premium packaging (ie booklet inserts) on rare movies, and charge a small fortune.

  5. I'm in the market for new, durable, comfortable joysticks. Are there any in particular that you would recommend that fit the bill and won't break the bank? I've been taking a gander at the Slik Stik and the Wico Bat – heard lots of praise for both. I'm just looking for an all-around solid joystick that won't make my massive hands start cramping after 25-30 minutes.
  6. I have an s-video modded Sears Tele-Game Heavy Sixer as my main workhorse, and I have a Junior model as well.
  7. Updated to 1.06, all good so far, thanks!
  8. Hopefully the AA store needs some Atari carts! Would love to get me some store credit.

So I can of course immediately spend it on a homebrew... the question is, which one...

  9. **SOLD** Looking to sell carts I don't need anymore, seeing as I have a Harmony Encore. All games have been tested and are working. Looking for $22 total for the bundle, shipped to continental US only. All commons and in varying condition. Picture:
  10. That's the long-term plan for my CV at home! Thanks for all of your inputs.
  11. My girlfriend is interested in playing some CV and INTV with me, but alas my CV is at my parents' house until I have my own place after grad school. I've always been interested in dabbling my feet in Intellivision; Rev from the INTV boards here sent me a console a while back out of the goodness of his heart that worked for a bit, but after much trial and error, it just went kaput. It did light a spark for love of the INTV though, for which I'm grateful! I'll get one eventually... My question is: for casual playing with my girlfriend, are the CV and INTV flashback consoles a good way to get one's feet wet for relatively cheap? I'm looking for something I can fit into a small space (tiny apartment) and can carry with me with relative ease during my travels. I know this may sound like heresy on these forums where it's the real deal or nothing (which is how I feel about my 2600), but I'm looking for cheap, fun, and at least somewhat resembling the original models. Many thanks for your insights, as always!
  12. This looks like a fantastic piece of work. Great stuff!
  13. RIP Harper Lee.

  14. Bump for lower price. Willing to negotiate; I'm just looking to get this off my hands.
  15. -20ºF last night walking back from the pub. Awful.

  16. Looking to sell this Sega Genesis Model 2 with the MK-2103 AC adapter (should work with the Model 2), 3-button controller, and A/V cable. $20 shipped within the continental US. I have no games to test it with, so selling as-is. When I played on it a year ago it worked just fine! Pics: http://imgur.com/a/pRHYo SOLD
  17. Picked up some anime DVDs from HoshiChiri. Kept me informed about the packaging, and the shipping was done in a timely and appropriate fashion.
  18. Definitely feeling some New Super Mario Bros. Wii after finishing thesis work for today.

  19. Yeah. I don't see my collection surpassing ~100 titles.
  20. I collect for the Wii, but only titles I plan on actually playing, or have played and have fond memories of. Some of my favorites would have to be: Donkey Kong Country Returns (better on the Wii than on the 3DS, imo) Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 No More Heroes 1/2 Red Steel 2 (whatever the first one was... what a piece of crap, not worth the $0.99 I paid for it) Mercury Meltdown Revolution Elebits WarioWare Smooth Moves All of the Kirby games Metroid Prime Trilogy Resident Evil 4 (other games, like the "Archives," are good too) Dead Space Extraction Lost in Shadow Fragile Dreams Rodea the Sky Soldier (stay away from the 3DS/Wii U versions) Mario Kart Wii Wario Land Shake It Punch-Out!! Dokapon Kingdom Pandora's Tower Castle of Shikigami III The Last Story Little King's Story New Super Mario Bros. Wii Xenoblade Chronicles Tatsunoku vs. Capcom Metal Slug Anthology Super Smash Bros. Brawl de Blob 1/2 Legend of Zelda TTP/SW Goldeneye Bully: Scholarship Edition The Godfather Okami Zack & Wiki Bit.Trip Complete (again, I prefer it over the 3DS version) Cursed Mountain Madworld Klonoa Dewey's Adventure Sin and Punishment Star Successor Excitebots Trick Racing Ghost Squad Fire Emblem, the Wii one, whatever it's called That's off the top of my head. I still have a ways to go with my collection.
