  1. Have you received it back yet? How does it look?
  2. The Halo trilogy is one of my favorite FPS series of all time for the campaigns. I played the first two Gears of War games and while the first one was mindblowing, I never felt as driven to finish off the series or anticipate the release of the third iteration as I did for the Halo franchise.
  3. My father purchases every Missing Manual for OS X, and most recently for the iPhone 5 once he and my mom both got one. I have browsed through them, and I think they're a really great resource. This isn't on the topic of computer manuals specifically, but I remember when I spent hours reading the Neverwinter Nights manual. I remember opening A Link Between Worlds for my 3DS and... the manual is digital. Here's a picture of the NWN manual for reference, maybe it'll help explain why I thought it was so cool: http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/3/39419/2239171-$%28KGrHqNHJBME7%296Mq7pNBPHOZNmIi!~~60_57.JPG
  4. Just picked up a Sega Game Gear, an SMS converter, a carrying case, ~20 games, and some awesome 2600 carts! I'll be set for gaming for a long time. :)

I got the Majesco model, so I'm hoping that the caps won't need to be replaced.

  5. Is that the Majesco version of the Game Gear?
  6. That was a very informative review. Still won't be purchasing, but a solid review nonetheless.
  7. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/remembering-the-atari-age/1100-6419856/ I was absolutely shocked to see anything 2600-related on GameSpot. Thought some here might enjoy giving it a quick, brief read.
  8. I know it's really dumb, but maybe some here might enjoy it: Cheers! EDIT: Really fucked up the title, something else was on my mind. Oh well.
  9. Hey everyone, thank you for your input. The opportunity I had fell through, but I suppose I'll start poking around in the Marketplace here in the future, or maybe head to eBay for a NES. There's also a retro game store about 20 miles away from my college, but the guy who runs it isn't very polite with customers, so I'm hesitant to give him business. Granted I called earlier and they have a NES with a new 72-pin connector and two controllers for $50. Thank you!
  10. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Really enjoying the updated graphics. I have ALBW waiting for me once I finish up OoT later this week.
  11. I recently came into a nice little bit of money, and I might have an opportunity to pick up a NES or SNES to complement my Atari 2600 (if not, oh well, it'll happen eventually). In your opinion, which would be a better complement for the 2600, and why? I would just be focusing on picking up loose carts for the best games for either system, just as I plan on doing for the 2600. Thank you!
  12. Saw Godzilla this afternoon. Was pleasantly surprised; it was fantastic. Recommended!

  13. Thanks for the help; going to grab some Goo Gone for the tape residue and use my microfiber cloth + screen cleaning solution to polish the screen. I'll use some q-tips and some cleaning solution of some sort to clean out some of the dusty vents on the back. Thanks!
  14. Thanks, I'll pick some up from Wal-Mart. There is only a tiny bit of tape residue on the bottom of the screen. Would a microfiber cloth and some screen cleaning solution I use for my laptop work?
  15. Hey folks, I grabbed a Sony Trinitron for free at the end of my college academic year when everyone is dumping unwanted items into various "rescue boxes." Here are some photos: http://imgur.com/a/CyyKH Any ideas for cleaning the gunk off and polishing the screen? What specific materials/products should I use? I don't want to damage the plastic casing or the screen. Thank you!
  16. Just grabbed a free Sony Trinitron! http://imgur.com/a/deeJF

I moved my 5200 into my new game room with a Trinitron from the CRT in the front room. Last night my brother-in-law noticed it looked different. Boy howdy, does it.

  17. Not even joking, this was the game that pushed me to begin looking into the Atari 2600. Saw a demo of it a while back when it was first announced -- someone posted a link to it on reddit.com and I thought it was just one of the coolest things I had ever seen. Good luck! Can't wait for this to be released!
  18. From what I have heard it looks very promising. I'll probably pick one up in the future if the reviews are generally positive.
  19. These look absolutely gorgeous. I should get one for my 2600 Jr!
  20. Thank you very much for the input. Compiled a list of what homebrews I plan on eventually picking up: Harmony Cart Halo 2600 Fall Down Lady Bug Thrust+ Platinum Star Fire Seaweed Assault Pac-Man 4k Juno First Strat-O-Gems Deluxe Skeleton+ Gunfight Dungeon Climber 5 Go Fish! Colony 7 Oystron Dark Mage Crazy Balloon Hunchy II Toyshop Trouble Squish ‘Em! Space Rocks Lead Epic Adventure Cave In Reindeer Rescue Blinky Goes Up K.O. Cruiser Allia Quest Stay Frosty 2 *phew* Goodness gracious, these all look like so much fun. Can't wait to gradually break the bank.
  21. Just picked up my first Atari 2600 (a Junior model), so I'm glad to hear there aren't any major compatibility issues. I'm planning on ordering a metric crapton of hombrews in the future from the AA store.
