  1. Playing through Halo for the first time and it's blowing me away. I can't even imagine having played it in the early 2000s.

      It looks nice and runs great, but it's extremely repetitive on level design. All the space station things are exactly the same...snooooooze

      From the older days of collecting a few weird ones, My favorite ones were Stickboy, Flaming Carrot, Ralph Snart Adventures, The Tick, and 2000 A.D./Judge Dredd.

  5. I have yet to play any of the Fire Emblem games, but they're certainly on my list of games to eventually play. Wrapping up Kirby Triple Deluxe right now, and I'm going to be diving into Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon soon.

  8. I'm done with thrift stores and Goodwill. Everything is always picked clean by resellers, though occasionally I find something useful for my college dorm room. I have way more luck at a used boom store that also carries DVDs, video games, and music. Great Wii and Xbox titles for $5-$10 sometimes. And their graphic novel section and prices are solid.
  9. My CMVS is on Unibios 2.3. Is there any reason to eventually upgrade to the Omega CMVS in the future for the Unibios 3.2, along with the fact that it looks absolutely gorgeous? What differences could I expect outside of how it looks, since I would just run it through s-video anyhow? Also, as per above, I'd be all over the Neo-Geo CD if I hadn't actually experienced those loading times in real life on a friend's system. I didn't believe him when he said it would br almost unbearable to fire up more than one NGCD game in a given hour versus starting numerous games instantly with carts throughout the night. Shrugged it off and didn't care until I realized we had spent 25+ mins waiting for a handful of games to load throughout the evening...
  10. I've been meaning to pick up Monster Hunter 4, it really seems like my kind of game. Just weary of the presumable time investment needed to accomplish anything in the game – isn't it like a lite-MMO in some respects? Much to my dismay I'll never have the time for an MMORPG again, lol.
  11. Finished OoT for the first time (on 3DS) recently... terrific game. Time to wrap up Kirby Triple Deluxe and then dive into Shovel Knight! 3DS, one of my favorite systems of all time.
  12. Thank you so much to all who have kept this thread alive for so long -- namely Anthony. After seeing so many of these awesome posts I sold off (still in the process of doing so...) much of my collection that won't see any use again to find my MVS collection! Metal Slug, Puzzle Bobble, Art of Fighting... so many awesome games that will provide years of enjoyment. Thanks to all! Here's to another two awesome years of Neo-Geo goodness!

      Consolized Multi Video System. Think of it as a Neo Geo AES, but you can play the carts from the actual Neo Geo arcade machine.

  15. One of the primary reasons I've held onto mine, and why I'll be getting it replaced soon -- stuff is rattling around and making me nervous. Served me well for so many years though!
  16. Agreed. I really think the Wii nailed motion controls, especially when they introduced Motion Plus with Wii Sports Resort. Fantastic stuff.

If I were you, I'd lower it by at least 50% to see a quicker sale... or a sale at all, really.
  18. Do you prefer the Wii, or the Gamecube? I personally prefer the Wii because I find myself enjoying more titles in its library, but I absolutely cannot disregard some of the absolute classics that were on the Gamecube – Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, F-Zero GX, Mario Kart Double Dash, LoZ Windwaker, and Mario Gold Toadstool Tour, just to name a few. I've begun picking up classic Gamecube games for nostalgic reasons, but my Gamecube collection will most likely never even be half of my Wii collection quantity-wise. I also enjoy the Wii's motion controls in varying degrees, and I've heard many absolutely loathe that aspect of the Wii. *shrugs* How about you?

  21. I wonder what the Wii's legacy will be. I've certainly loved mine and continue to cherish its many games, but I'm curious how gamers will view it 10-15 years from now.

      100 million, I think. But yes, the Wii is not difficult to find for cheap. It has its uses, though... it's not difficult to hack.

  23. I picked it up for my girlfriend because she seems to absolutely fly through games at an incredibly fast rate; she's been playing ACNL for three months now, half an hour a day. She seems to love it.
