  2. Yep, I just hooked up my s-video cable, thanks for the tip! I'm afraid I'm unsure what that black port is for. Thanks! Yep, Puzzle Bobble is on the way! Looking to sell off a bit more of my collection – stuff I don't really have any need for anymore – so I can have some money to pick up Neo Turf Masters and some Metal Slug!
  3. My CMVS has arrived! I'm in love with it! The beautiful controller: BEHOLD! THE CMVS ITSELF! Oh man, I'm salivating. This thing is gorgeous. Definitely needs some dusting and cleaning but I'm thrilled nonetheless. If tape gets the job done, so be it. The guy I bought this from threw in this World Heroes cart for free. I'll get around to printing a new label and cleaning it up pretty soon. SHE LIVES! I'm so pumped. Can't wait to have tons of fun with this thing! Can't wait to start dusting and cleaning it too... heh.
  4. I have a Super Famicom for trade, system only, make me an offer: http://imgur.com/w2S4FKy I'm looking for any Neo-Geo MVS carts that you may have from the following list: King of Fighters ’98 Samurai Shodown II Metal Slug 1, X, 3, 4, 5 Shock Troopers 1/2 Strikers 1945+ Pulstar Aero Fighters 2/3 Magical Drop 3 Super Baseball 2020 Crossed Swords Windjammers Blazing Star Ironclad Neo Turfmasters Street Hoops Nam 1975 I'm also looking for PS Vita games: Gravity Rush Muramasa Rebirth God of War Collection Steins;Gate Wipeout 2048 Dragon's Crown
  5. Hence my intense interest in making this system my primary video gaming device along with my 2600, Wii, and 3DS from here on out. I plan on gathering up many great games over the coming years – just ordered Puzzle Bobble off of eBay, and I'll be saving up for the 161-in-1 multicart to pick up in a couple of months. I wish the multicart was completely free of issues, but I guess that's what you should expect with one of those things. I'll just be happy to have that many games readily available until I can afford to pick up some actual carts for my favorites.
  6. Great to hear about what people are playing!
  7. Hmm... in no particular order: Metal Slug Neverwinter Nights Super Mario Galaxy 2 The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii) SSX 3 Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Bubble Bobble H.E.R.O. Quake 3 Arena
  8. Due to the sheer cost of many MVS carts, I'll probably go for the Multicart route for a while (since from what I've gathered a flash cart won't ever happen). Here's a list of games I'd like to pick up eventually: King of Fighters ’98 Samurai Shodown II Metal Slug 1, X, 3, 4, 5 Puzzle Bobble/Bust-A-Move Shock Troopers 1/2 Strikers 1945+ Pulstar Aero Fighters 2/3 Magical Drop 3 Super Baseball 2020 Crossed Swords Windjammers Blazing Star Ironclad Neo Turfmasters Street Hoops Nam 1975
  9. Eagerly awaiting the arrival of my CMVS.

  10. Thank you for the advice! I'll be sure to ask for pictures of the PCBs whenever I can.
  11. Yeah I held off, thanks for the input though!
  12. Absolutely gorgeous day in Maine! Might take a walk later with my girlfriend to take advantage of the weather.

I'm going to miss the cold weather Bix. I personally like the winter and snow!

  13. Looking to buy Metal Slug or Puzzle Bobble for the Neo-Geo MVS.
  14. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Arcade-SNK-NEOGEO-Metal-Slug-cartridge-original-mvs-/311561228574?hash=item488a7f111e:g:qfMAAOSwZ8ZW3GPY http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMURAI-SHOWDOWN-II-2-KING-OF-FIGHTER-94-ART-OF-FIGHING-2-mvs-neo-geo-cartridge-/152010737740?hash=item23648bc84c:g:iGQAAOSw--1WtmTy Certainly tempted... not sure if those are good prices though.
  15. I'm ecstatic Steam is getting more and more shmup releases.
  16. Yeah, same. There are so many wonderful Vita games, but so many of the better ones take forever to get through. I'd rather play more games in shorter chunks that take less time to beat than far longer games, which – given my limited free time to play games – take me months to get through (see: any JRPG). Not like I'm in any rush though.
  17. Since there's a thread for what people are playing on the 3DS, I figured I might as well fire one up for the PS Vita. A great handheld gaming console. I just finished up Killzone: Mercenaries, which I thought was a superb FPS. The story was shallow and corny (classic Killzone), but the gameplay was tight, the visuals were stunning, and the game featured a number of awesome set pieces. The last boss was a pain in the ass though. Maybe I just approached it wrong, but that thing took me half an hour to slog through. I'm playing through the Sly Cooper Collection that I received for Christmas, specifically the first Sly Cooper game. It's a delightful platformer that I skipped over on the PS2, and can't believe I did. Great fun! How about you guys?
  18. I'm playing through Kirby Triple Deluxe right now; it's a fantastic (albeit relatively easy) 2D platformer. Highly recommended for the great soundtrack, charming visuals, solid gameplay, and overall brilliant aesthetic. I'm also addicted to getting those collectible keychains.
  19. Post some pics when you're done!
  20. Been looking at the prices of the MVS games I want to pick up eventually, and been looking at the 161-in-1 multicart... despite some apparent issues, that looks like it'll have to be the route I go until I have a decent job. To be perfectly honest, as long as it plays the Metal Slug games flawlessly, it's fine.
  21. So fed up with this universal remote, can't even access the settings menu to adjust my TV's brightness... just ordered an official Toshiba remote from eBay lol.

And I bet you probably paid more for it than the TV cost in the first place.

had a similar situation with my Toshiba. Got a remote off ebay for $11 or so..

TV was free, universal remote was $5, Toshiba remote was $10; not terrible!

  22. I can foresee myself getting another 5-8 years' of enjoyment out of a combined DS/3DS library, so unless the NX -- whatever it'll end up being -- is fully backwards compatible with the DS and 3DS, I'll hold onto my New 3DS XL indefinitely, and will continue to collect/play games for the DS and 3DS.
  23. The New 3DS XL is my favorite video game system that I have ever owned. Huge library of quality titles, both DS and 3DS The size is perfect for my massive hands and the screen size itself is neither too big nor too small The 3D tracking is something that sounded "meh" on paper and blew me away when I tried it The ability to download SNES classics that I never got a chance to play is just icing on the cake at this point Also, do any of you use screen protectors? I haven't seen the need for one, but if everyone but me uses them, I guess I might as well hop aboard that train.
  24. To lock, or not to lock, that is the question.
