Mean 18 Famous Course Disk 2! -edit-
tjlazah replied to tjlazah's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
I tell you what, I will give you a copy of the main disk if I can get a copy of the Famous Course disk 2! Can you use it in ST, MSA or Zip format? The one I have is not copy protected. -
Doesn't there exist a copier that apples a patch to a copied game to make it work? Like a parameter? Like on the other platforms. The C64 and Amiga had lots of them. You would copy the disk, then apply the patch for that game, and presto a cracked copy!

My original disk went bad, anyone have the 3 course files of AUGUSTA.M18, PEBBLE.M18 AND STANDREW.M18? -edit- I was able to salvage the files!!! Woot! So... anyone have the 2nd course disk by chance?

Great port so far. That said, I really do hope this ends up with 128k and NTSC support, It would be a shame if it doesn't...

I like V1.1 title screen better!!!!!

Seems that most ST games are not rare. I have been collecting them on eBay for dirt cheap the last year or so. Most are arriving DOA too. (Bad disks) Tis a shame. So I am just doing the disk image thing now and collecting originals from the net. TOSEC is a great start.

First off thank you for doing this conversion! It is very much appreciated! It is really great! I know this is a beta but I have one request: Can you get this to work on NTSC too by chance? It shows black screen with music when run on a NTSC Atari.

I tried the ATR on a NTSC 130XE and 800XL and I also get garbage after a few secs. Every time. On my Emulator it seems to work ok. Any reason for this? I have it set to NTSC on the Emulator...

What kind of monitor do you use with your 8 bit?
tjlazah replied to BoatofCar's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Well I am in the US, and I have tried 3 different C=A1080's and they all sucked when tested on a 800XL and 130XE, on a C=1702, 1902 and Magnavox RGB 80 the output was superior! (The output was kinda washed out/blurry on the 1080.) -

All of you that use a Amiga 1080: How is the picture quality in composite? I found it was really bad compared to other C= monitors. I also use a C=1702 and a Magnavox RGB 80. -
I use to live in Moffet field housing as a kid, I remember riding my bike right in that area in front of Atari and Apple! Ah those were the times...

Is there a way to get this great game working on NTSC Atari's? Every version I d/l needs PAL to play it.

Use a DOS program like STDISK to write the .ST image to a disk on the PC. If the image is inder 730K or so it will work in XP, if the image is over that like 800K, you will need to boot the PC into true DOS mode and then STDISK will write it to the disk! For STDISK go here: http://www.8hz.com/stdisk/page.html

Last year I bought a nice 130XE lot with a 1050 drive, and a bunch of software on eBay for like $32. I later was shocked to find out that the 1050 drive was fitted with a Happy chip! Woot!

Why are the stickers gone on the XE gun? I have seen a few like this...

I got my Mega STE (1MB RAM, No HD Kit) from a seller on eBay for $175. It was new in the box! Steve's Music is the seller. He sold a few for over $300. They pop up on eBay now and then, and I am sure you can get one for under $400 no problem.
-
I would get both the Mega ST and STE! That's what I did! Nice to have the old machines I could never afford. Well I about have ALL the Atari computers now. More or less a hobby. The Mega STE actually really nice. Not all come with a SCSI adaptor inside. Mine did not come with one and actually has a blank HD module with no LED, it also came with 1MB. I upgraded it to 4MB and next will want to get the HD kit which comes with the SCSI adaptor and different HD module for HD with LED. Good luck...

I didn't know you used a Mac. What made you think that? -
DOes it work? I have one here and it sticks on the title screen. Just wondering if this one was 400/800 only. How can I get it to run since it is a cart?
