  2. Heya waderain! We'll be featuring your game on ZeroPage Homebrew Twitch livestream on the Wednesday August 22, 2018 episode! Looking forward to playing it on the show! :-)
  3. I've scheduled Climb the Tree to be on our next episode of ZeroPage Homebrew on Wednesday August 22nd! :-) I don't have the exact time it'll start but probably around 3-4PM PT, hope to see you there! Here's the upcoming schedule of shows.
  4. Wow, that was quick work! Looks like you fixed up everything I talked about and it's completely playable now on real hardware for the stream, thanks! I'll include the game in an upcoming episode of ZeroPage! :-)
  5. Hi Coolcrab! Looks like a fun two player game. I'd love to play it on our show ZeroPage Homebrew but it's a little too jittery on real hardware at the moment. I recorded a short video of it playing on my VCS. The line count for the game seems to jump in the range from 262-276. It jumps to 264 when the screen scrolls down and a big jump to 271 lines when a piece of the tree disappears off the bottom of the screen. You can check out your line count in Stella by pressing ALT-L (on windows). You can analyze it frame by frame by jumping into Debugger mode (~ on Windows) and clicking 'Frame +1' over and over to see it in action. Also, as you can see in the video I noticed you can get six powerups in a very short amount of time by going right to the top of the tree. Other that that, keep up the good work. Looking forward to updates!
  6. Thanks so much LLI! Glad you're enjoying our shows!! It's definitely a lot easier to figure out patterns within the game while watching someone else play, especially with a game as intense as this one!! Another thing I observed after the show watching the video is that when you fire at the parts of the ring that the mines are clinging to they will release early, at least in the early stages. In the later stages, they just jump off right away and go after you. Thomas J. let us know on the stream that his 32k in the highscore table isn't real and is just a factor of 2, he said he's never actually got even close to that score. It's definitely something to aim for, it's such a crazy high score but since you've already made it past the 20k it doesn't get any harder! I also played the hell out of Yar's Revenge back in the 80's and 90's, it definitely deserves its place as the best selling original title for the 2600. I'm also glad you picked this game as I also don't think I would have put in this much work to get the score that I got!! :-) This tournament was a great idea and also some great content for the stream!
  7. We played our first broadcast of entries for this round of the Homebrew Tournament yesterday and got some non-embarrassing scores! We'll be playing our final round of games LIVE on August 31st on ZeroPage. cimmerian 9740 @ 1:35:20-1:39:19 Aerlan 9190 @ 1:14:12-1:18:32 Here's the video:
  8. No problem, it's was a blast playing it! We didn't catch on to the vulnerability of Kraal, no wonder we were having such difficulty it!
  9. Thank you to everyone who continue to tune into the show live every Wednesday and Friday on Twitch and watch all the archives on YouTube, the response from the community to the show has been amazing. It's really a ton of fun being able to show off all the hard work the designers put into these creative and amazing games! We really look forward to each and every show we do. Stay tuned as we have some big plans for ZeroPage Homebrew in the coming months, see you on the next stream!
  10. I'm both looking forward to playing this game again and also afraid of the huge scores people are getting!! We'll be playing Star Castle Arcade on both the next upcoming ZeroPage Homebrew show on August 15th and on the very last day of this round on August 31st trying to squeeze our way into the top scores. Wish us luck!
  11. Heya ultima! We played Sword of Surtr live on Twitch on our show ZeroPage Homebrew yesterday! Super fun adventure game and I think we made it about half way through or more collecting all the pieces. You can check out the YouTube archive of the show here:
  12. Heya Karl G! We played Space Game live on Twitch on our show ZeroPage Homebrew yesterday, tons of fun! Thanks for making it! You can check out the YouTube archive of the show here:
  13. Heya Dion! We'll be including Amoeba Jump in today's Twitch livestream on ZeroPage Homebrew as it's been a while since the we played it and there have been a bunch of changes since then! Hope you can join us at 7PM PT/10PM ET tonight.
  14. They did replace it promptly, this time the flap was sealed and everything was inside, hooray! Sorry, I forgot to follow up here that I got the replacement and just talked about it on the ZeroPage livestream. Thanks for putting out this book Dion! :-)
  15. Thanks so much LidLikesIntellivision, glad you enjoy the show! Also, thanks on the high score. I think you're right, with a little more practice we could roll the draconian score (although I'm not sure if it maxes out at six or seven digits!!) Yes, I think the strategy for getting higher scores is going for as many pods as possible and then the core. Any other method in the game just takes too long to rack up the score and is too dangerous. I find the diagonals sometimes a little tricky to use them to my full advantage but I probably should practice so I can add that to my arsenal of attack. That's amazing that you're able to remember the first homebrew you ever played. Missile Command is great, I found that game to be hauntingly tense. Of course playing it in the 80's had a very different meaning, during the cold war. Thanks again for hosting this tournament and giving me another excuse to play this amazing game!
  16. You're very welcome. I *love* this game and I can't wait for future versions with a ramped up difficulty. It's on my to-buy list if you decide to put it into a cart! For those of you who missed the live stream here's the archived version on our YouTube channel, Quantum Tunnel is the first game we play:
  17. You're very welcome, thanks for porting this great game to the 2600! It was definitely fun and challenging to play! I don't know if this will work aesthetically but for the shading I was thinking to draw it in solid every second line in the PF. This will give it a sort of shutter look that will break up the blockiness of the current sides of the screen. Check out the quickly mocked up attachment where I fill in a few of the lines on the left. Just a suggestion! :-) Also, here's the archived show on YouTube for those of you who missed it:
  18. Damn you retrogoober!!!!! Hahah. Great job on the score, glad the ZeroPage livestream inspired you to play! :-)
  19. Screen tearing looks like two pieces of gameplay were spliced together vertically and they're a little off from each other, usually by a frame or two. You can see it fairly clearly in pipes from the footage of me playing Flappy on the Retron 77 here (@2h18m2s): Screen Tearing: Screen tearing is a visual artifact in video display where a display device shows information from multiple frames in a single screen draw.
  20. Here are our scores from Wednesday's show! cimmerian: 200250 (1:09:32 to 1:30:32) Direct Link Aerlan: 96990 (1:45:23 to 1:59:10) Direct Link
  21. I just tried Quantum Tunnel through my setup and there's a couple things but nothing game breaking. I've PM'd you a video so you can check it out.

  24. Awesome, thanks for the updated version! I'll make I use whichever the most up to date version you have posted here on Friday's show.
  25. For sure Nathan! I love out of the box thinking for Atari 2600 games as there's so much untapped creative potential. I definitely need to check out more of Seemo's games as I've only played this, Lead and Omicron, all of which are astounding in their own right!
