On a tangentially related note:  Was BattleSphere for the Jaguar a homebrew?  Although it was planned to be an official release, it came out after Atari died.  The coders were professionals with fulltime day jobs.  But, they worked on the game at home, in the evenings, etc.  From a quality standpoint, the cart shell, box, manual, and even the game was definitely up to par with any of the top official releases.

Good question. We've never had to run into that situation with a title for the Atari Homebrew Awards yet. I don't immediately have a gut feeling where that would fall since it would have its feet in both camps.

I've just read the manual for the back story and game play on Audacity's site. I get the basic game play now, but I am curious if you are allowed to repeat a sideshow to get the 5 stars, or if it is one and done which means you have to restart the game and try again. Also, looking forward to trying the transporter out, and hopefully there is a fly hanging around inside of it.

I believe that if you die or leave (but some you can't leave) a sideshow before it's complete, you can try it again. Once you get your star rewards, the hatch closes and you don't get another attempt unless you restart the game.

This post will probably get buried too, but I just thought of something I saw re-watching the stream. I saw one of the trailers had three guys on unicycles moving back and forth. At least that was what I thought it was and someone in the chat wrote the same thing. It was actually three snakes though, ha ha.

I don't think the graphics are bad, but yeah sometimes it's what your eyes see.

Yellow and red hanging snakes or armless unicyclists from the Simpsons universe? You decide! 😂

Granted, unicyclists fit more in the circus theme!

Very nice!  Shells, boards, and labels too.  This is the first I've seen of the shell, and it definitely looks just like an Activision-style shell.  I'll be curious to see how it fits in the 7800.

You can check out the full shell (except inside) on the show, I do closeups near the end of the stream and it fits inside a 7800 quite tightly but works perfectly.

In case anyone else has this issue, I found the answer. Upon creation of the account, if you SUBMIT with a password containing special characters, the server will not accept the submission. When I re-submitted with a simple all-lower-case, letters-only password, the account was created. Then I went back to the Login screen and clicked Forgot Password and an automated email was sent with a temporary password. Clicking on THAT link took me back to the Audacity site with the temp pre-keyed, and it forced me to create a new password. At that point I was able to key as complex a password as I wanted, and it was accepted.

Hope this helps, and HAPPY BUYING!

I had completely forgot about it until you mentioned it but when I created my account (a while back now) it didn't like the apostrophe in my last name. Best to stick to alphanumeric, at least on initial sign up.

  10. Thank you everyone for watching the interview last night, it was a lot of fun talking to David, Garry and Dan about their new game. It's always interesting hearing the feedback after the developer interviews I do on the show, especially ones that may touch on polarizing topics. The lively discussion in this thread shows the passion and love everyone has for the console and our community!

BTW: Did you notice the startup problems of James' cart? Was that a physical thing? Or is James' hardware behaving differently again?

Yeah, and it seemed to be consistent.  I suspect one of the banks is missing the correct startup code.

I just tried the Circus Convoy binary on Stella with developer settings on it booted perfectly even after 20+ tries. I will clean the cartridge later today and see if it's my system or a possibility of something else.

Audacity Games "server error" appears when submitting creds to create account. Anyone else have that issue?

Probably a lot of people trying at once. You have until tomorrow at 2PM to make sure you have an account ready so keep trying!

They did say to use a computer browser and not one on a phone so maybe try to use a different computer/platform/browser.

that picture totally looks like an album cover.

    when does your single drop?

    Hahah, it drops tomorrow, literally.

I'm actually serious. I'm singing the chorus on a song that debuts tomorrow.

I'll leave it as a fun exercise to see if anyone can find out more. ;-)
