Another spacial thanks to all people present on the live! You're so welcome, it was a lot of fun playing Hellway on ZPH! It's an action packed game with really responsive controls and I love all the options for different tracks on the side of the road.
Looking forward to seeing the physical version of the game!

Try the C64 game, much more pleasant, and probably a better model for a multi player game...
p0 snake looks like a much more reasonable representation of movement with one button, great idea!

Basically, your snake-like character is traveling in a clockwise motion in a small circle when the button isn't being pressed. Pressing the button starts counterclockwise movement and hitting it for short, carefully timed bursts allows you to move around the playfield and pick up objects. It's actually a very fun, challenging play mechanic...
There is a single player game like this for the 2600 called Kuru Kuru Tsuchinoko and it only uses one button to move around like you describe. I find the game extremely challenging but it could be adapted to eight players somehow? Might get crowded on the screen. 🙂

Wow, this is going to be a blast!! I can imagine everybody trying to optimize speeds as much as they can while passing over the arrows. The great thing about it is that as the car goes faster, it's harder to accurately press the button while over the arrows, it automatically balances the gameplay!

Whaaa?? MORE categories, hahahah.. We'll have to add an extra non-televised day for all the technical awards like the Academy Awards does.

It has a ton of changes including a complete rewrite of the collision system and about 50 bug fixes, tweaks, changes and enhancements, not to mention the fab POKEY tunes.
Ooooh, very exciting!! I've got a Dragonfly special show waiting in the wings for it to arrive that will feature E.X.O.!! I checked the mail today, my light gun arrived but no Dragonfly cart yet. I'll keep waiting and checking!
Can't wait to groove to the INCREDIBLE tunes that I've been hearing snippets of from @Synthpopalooza while playing E.X.O.!!

The foot pedal can be found without too much effort, there's one on EBay right now, and it's a definitely must for playing Thrust. I'm sure there's some more games that use the second controller for input that you can assign to the FootPedal but not off the top of my head. Having all these different types of controllers makes playing homebrew on the 2600 a ton of fun. 🙂

He's made some great games that you can easily pick and play for the QuadTari, I hope he keeps it up!

OPERATION 5200 EXTRACTION!
I kept forgetting to post this but here's the pictures from the Pokey extraction I did on one of my 5200's on Feb 14th to try to solve the Pokey issues I was having with the chip that Best Electronics sent me.
Here's the two port Atari 5200 I extracted the Pokey chip from. It was the one of the three I have in the roughest shape.
The Pokey chip in the 5200 is labelled
TOP: 8227 CO 12294-03
BOTTOM: C 10679 / 226
made by Signetics. It was quite easy to take out with my IC puller, so the whole operation was fairly painless.
The one I got from Best Electronics was misbehaving a LOT in Popeye with the music, missing notes and playing the wrong ones. It was a very tight fit putting it in and quite hard getting it out as well with the IC puller. Here's the IMP chip I got from them:
IMP 8322FQA
C012294-31
I10010-01
Here's a picture of the Signetics chip from the 5200 installed in the Concerto cart.
It performs a lot better than the IMP Pokey chip in Popeye but not perfect and it was also having some consistent trouble playing the music in Arkanoid. You can hear various game sound performances in any shows after Feb 14th. I'm guessing that a Concerto firmware update will solve a lot of the issues I'm having with one or both of the chips and I can settle on one of the chips after that. In the mean time I'll be keeping both chips handy to swap out when the firmware gets updated.
I do have a DragonFly cart scheduled to arrive any day (it's been travelling around the world for a month) and I haven't heard of any sound issues in the Dragonfly thread so it'll be a good demo cart for the show until the Concerto gets an update. I'm more partial to the on screen menus with the Concerto than having to stand over the console scrolling through an on small cart display with the Dragonfly.

Damn, wish I had that build last night for the stream when I showed it off through the Concerto. I did play the music separately through the browser emulator so it was almost the same experience.

Chat
in Discussion
I went into the chat room to prepare to show it off on the stream tonight as you suggested but didn't see any of the things you're talking about above. The chat room is under setup and labelled 'Users Online' right? It didn't have any messages or any ability for me to type a message, below is what is showed. Is the chat ability only for people using draft versions?- James
EDIT: It appears that I don't have a cart that's enabled to update with draft versions so I'm not able to show off the chat functions. I'll see if I can arrange to have one of my PlusCarts carts enabled for draft versions so I can show this off on the next show.

Also, you should definitely check out/mention the new Chat Room if you haven't already seen it!
You bet, I've voted in the thread and added it to the news for tonight's show!
Is the Chat Room the thing labelled 'Users Online'? Unfortunately it said 'You Are Alone Here:(' so I'll talk about it at the top of the news and try to get some people in the chat in real time on the show to demonstrate it on the stream.🙂- James

3 hours ago, sramirez2008 said:@ZeroPage Homebrew This game has a plethora of controller options (e.g. joystick, paddles, driving controller, trak-ball, st-mouse). I may have missed one, but IIRC all of these options have been tested and tuned. There may not be enough space on the box, to list all of the options.😊
I'll be bringing out all the various options for controllers I have for the game, should be fun trying them all out.
I don't have a st-mouse so that's one that we'll have to miss unfortunately. Does anyone know if this USB to DB9 adapter would work for connecting a modern mouse to the 2600 & 7800?

Glacier Bell won out for me for having a stylish N, lower case letters, thinner font and a clean sans serif look. 🙂
