I just realized I never responded to this topic.
Awesome website Kamshaft!
Late to the party! LOL
Thanks Phil!

I'm bumping this thread in case some of the "non-regulars" missed it.

Maybe use a FPGA solution for the custom chips?

This is the same issue I noticed with the Raspberry version. I called it choppy but it is a popping/clicking issue. I was thinking it was due to the Raspberry not having enough performance.
I'm running Windows 7 on a i7-2700K running at 3.5Ghz, so there shouldn't be any sound issues. I'm confident nanochess will figure it out.
-
The only suggestion I have is the have most of the chips socketed. For easier removal/replacement in case of failure.
-
I ran princess_quest.rom and in the intro music, I hear a pop.
Again, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.
-
In normal run or recording video?
Both I believe, Let me run more tests. But I'm pretty sure it's both. It's like a poping/click in the sound.
-
LIttle crackle in the audio. Just thought I'd let you know.
-
Those two chips are easy to replace, and it's a good idea to put a socket while your there.
And it's a good idea to get a person that has the skills to do it too. Lol

Did you say video recording?

Check first post, all platforms updated

New features:
- Fast startup of Colecovision BIOS.
- Fn-F5 enables/disables roller controller.
- Fn-F6 starts/stops video recording (AVI format with ZMBV codec)
- Support for Shift+Enter to exit in Raspberry PI (useful for Retropie)
Awesome, where does it save the video file in Windows? It's not in... "your Movies folder My Documents folder in Windows, or home directory in others"
I'm running Windows 7.
EDIT: It's in the "/{user dir}/My Documents/video00x.avi

What are your plans with it? Meaning, are you going to put something on the market? (This Atariage market) or just for fun?
-
Wow! Nice work!
What would be cool is the ability to record video, set the resolution, and screenshots.
-
Again, that's really cool.

We will try to organize a 3rd run next year, one that isn't as bumpy as this 2nd run. But we are going to need another 200 orders, because we will be out of boxes and manuals once 2nd run is shipped.
Would you consider doing a box-less version? Meaning just the unit itself? Nobody reads the manual anyways. LOL
-
Nice! Once you're done I'll add it to my site!
-
That's really cool!

I'm generally a pretty technical person (not an engineer), AND I have no idea what this is! Looks like a SGM clone or something. Do tell!

-
I personally don't currently have the cash to back this awesome project.... However, I've posted the details on colecovisionaddict.com (cvaddict.com) and the facebook fan page to help you guys out! Good luck!

How many games actually use the thumbwheel? Is there a list?
Why yes there is in fact.

Very cool! I'm glad I could help. I'd love to get a complete loose collection too.....I'm sitting at 85 carts now. Still have a few to go.

Will it be possible to connect 2 flashback controllers into it and connect both connections to the original CV?
Or is it one/single player connection?
