How the Colecovision flashback got me back into video games
Kamshaft replied to AlexKIDD's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Welcome! Glad you're back into the swing of things! -
Since I've never actually sold any labels and only traded with Marcks73. I'd be open to trades and such, for carts I don't have. And there's a lot I don't have.

$2 each, plus shipping.

Which ones? Some of from Phil, and some from me.

What are your expectations for a "Homebrew" release?
Kamshaft replied to TPR's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
That's what it means. Original, never seen before. Totally new. Original, one of a kind. -

Creative and original, I think the words are self-explanatory. -
It's so easy to make a repros of this old stuff. With all the tech we have these days.

I'd like to take some screenshots of this game. Anyone get this rom working in an emulator yet? If so, what are the settings? You guessed it, it's for my site. The tractor doesn't move! LOL Thanks!

Thanks for the help today Vincent! You are the man!

I'm still looking for one! Nice find!

I'd like to try my hand at programming once BasicVision comes out.

I've added a handful of overlays. Games include Super Action Baseball, Super Action Football, Mouse Trap, Fortune Builder and WarGames. The overlays will only be meant for on-screen viewing only. More to come as I get them. Enjoy! If you want to help me with ORIGINAL overlay scans, please send me a PM. Please scan at 600 dpi/ppi Thanks!

What are your expectations for a "Homebrew" release?

Don't get me wrong.... I really adore this community, and the awesome people within it. Otherwise I wouldn't of created my site. My dream (if I may) is to see more creative and original titles come to the Colecovision by means of homebrew. Whether it comes from Collectorvision, Team Pixelboy or Opcode games, or anyone else for that matter. I think a lot of people would be on board with that. Again, just my thoughts. Kam -

I sadly haven't been around that long. I bet recalling 100 carts, has to be a crappy thing. And I'm never going to get into publishing on a 30 year console! I have too many grey hairs as is! -

Coming from the same department as TPR, being relatively new to the scene. Plus, not having purchased any homebrew titles so far, for life reasons. This is not a monetary perspective. But, if we are talking strictly homebrew games at their core. I would expect the following.... The the price point reflects the quality of the game. I've seen $50 door stops that friends purchased. Not cool. Creativity. With MAME out there, and so easy to setup these days. I don't really like the idea of paying for an arcade title watered down this day in age. The "this is cool" factor dies pretty fast with me. On the other hand, if you turn back the clock to 1983, and getting "Bagman" then would have been cool. Where's Doc Brown when you need him?!?! Support. I'm not a fan of abandonware. Meaning if it has bugs fix it. It's completely possible these days. The truth is this homebrew stuff is like the wild west a bit. -
My labels from this thread have been made available at cvaddict.com

Tron Light Cycles for Colecovision - Work in progress
Kamshaft replied to parkfun101's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Looking awesome! -
Right now, anything over 300 pixels wide is really hard to get. Since I don't have any games in Box in order to scan myself. With the help of some awesome people it will happen. But, 300 pixels wide is pretty good no?

Today, I added all the additional screenshots from NIAD's collection of the Legacy games. The site now has over 1200 screenshots! (1266 to be exact) I can see how a person like NIAD could go a little stir crazy! Plus a few pieces of box art has been replaced too. 98% of the box is near perfect. Enjoy!

No Kidding!
-
That may happen. My main goal is to get everything in there first, then add "different stuff" - Good idea though....I was thinking of doing that from a video perspective.
-
It's coming.

They are exactly the output resolution of the native Colecovision. Scaling would look , well ... scaled. I removed the ONE arcade shot that accidentally got in there. LOL
