  1. Yes, this was my challenge! I got a hand and it worked out well. Thank you! Now this is working as well! Both Ballblazer, Commando are working great now... so are several other homebrews that have incorporated POKEY audio! Now for whatever reason the Concerto won't let me get past the opening seconds of ANY version of Double Dragon I throw at it, even the new graphics hack. Some atari 2600 games like video olympics go to scrambled video here and there. Troubleshooting a few things here and there but I love this cart! Excited for his next firmware and happy to have one of the first cracks at this!
  2. it's funny, only .a78 that I can't get pokey audio to work on is commando. besides that and a few freeze-ups, the Concerto cart is a lot of fun. getting that Pokey out of my spare Ball Blazer was hard as hell though!! excited to play all of Bob's homebrews now on real hardware! having the complete 7800 and 2600 libraries on one cart is amazing.
  3. so I got a 7800 the other day that was in pretty rough shape, had to swap out most of the switches to get it to work ( pause button is still faulty). the issue that remains is this: when playing 7800 games that require two buttons, the fire buttons on the joysticks do not work. games that require one button: fire buttons work fine. on atari 2600 games everything works great except my paddles will not register movement. has anyone had this issue? I'm at a loss. I reflowed all the solder on the controller port. maybe I just need a new motherboard? help!
  4. I'll check in with a report later today after some further testing.
  5. Concerto is working great and the socketed Pokey is working out perfectly!
  6. do these all work with both the CX22 and the CX80? In other words, if I were to purchase one trak-ball for the 2600, which one should it be?
  7. I put my name on a list for this at the expo but never received an email - I came to the show floor specifically to pick one up so I hope I get a chance to buy one!
  8. Thanks for the unnecessary comment. This sold for $350 exactly in under a week. Shipped today. I figured $350 shipped was just a fine deal, was willing to budge a bit but in the end it sold for asking price. it was modded, two port, in great shape, great shape trackball, working controllers, adapter AND an atarimax cart. I'm not even sure why I'm still defending it.
  9. ***SOLD*** http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-5200-Black-Console-bundle-2-port-s-video-mod-Atarimax-Trak-Ball-more-/201371310508? if anyone here is in the market for a 5200 setup, I'm sadly getting rid of mine. Has atarimax, bohoki's adapter with a mako pad, trak-ball and a RARE COPY OF SUPER BREAKOUT!!! (lol) it has been modded with Electronic Sent. S-video mod. We did a good job on it. looks great with s-vid. 2 port.
  10. What always blows my mind is that my parents actually bought a sears telegames system NEW from sears before I was born! So the machine was there waiting for my arrival in '79. Some of my earliest memories are playing target fun, coconuts, word zapper and squeeze box with them! I later got a master system and that's when they parted ways with video gaming for the most part. Like others have said, they both checked in once again when the Wii was released. My daughters will probably think their parents play too many games once they get older.
  11. of course, I will not be modifying anything that is not plug and play.
  12. I had no idea either before, in fact, I hadn't eaten in a denny's for probably a decade before I wound up there before the event. They sell "pancake puppies", like sweet hushpuppies.. pretty good, but awfully filling. The centipup machine arrives today and i'm pretty excited. Likely will clone the CPU and put some version of mame in the cab as well.
  13. the event is archived at www.twitch.tv/dennys if you'd like to see something full of atari and denny's logos. there's also a cool video on the creation of the cabinets. The whole thing almost didn't go off, it was so hot and the sun was beating down that equipment was malfunctioning.
  14. I'll post plenty more pictures when I get the cab next week. It was running some sort of android box hooked up to a 21" monitor? It is a full size cab. I got the trip, a grand, the belt, and the cabinet! not a bad haul for being an OK centipede player.
  15. Not sure if the pic worked, but that's the "centipup" cabinet on the left. At least atariage represented!
  16. Well, I took home the big prize! It was super fun and the atari arcade cabinet is amazing looking and they did a great job. i personally am going to enjoy this new piece of Atari branded hardware, which is one of a kind! Also, the championship belt is AMAZING!!!
  17. I am actually going to be in the finals in Vegas for this next Tuesday. Feel free to cheer on a fellow Atari age member. Hopefully y'all don't think I'm too big of a sellout. Sounds fun though.
  18. I've got to say - the versions of these games are actually pretty fun - especially as they are free. I've been pretty obsessed with "centipup" for the past few days, finishing #6 in the contest. It got pretty heated. I'm all for Atari in any way shape or form these days, call me crazy.
  19. Wholeheartedly agree. Would be great to have a readily available solution for those who are just getting into it.
  20. thanks for this conversion! the Atarimax cart is getting stuffed to the gills!
  21. just click the "atari arrows" to the left and right of the screenshot and you'll see more. Baffled me for awhile too.
  22. Business is Fun getting a re-edit!!? Prayers answered!
