Apple IIc Check Disk Drive error in Apple II Computers Posted March 17, 2017 I have a similar issue with my IIc. On boot the drive makes a rapid tapping sound, then displays "CHECK DISK DRIVE". I ran the system check, and it says "System OK". I don't have an external drive to test.
