A nec 1990fxp lcd works great with an ST, no scaler need, it works in all resolutions out of the box, just needs st to vga cables.

Hi, I know there is a arduino TAP player ,tapuino, for the C64, I was wondering if it could be possible to build a arduino CAS player for the A8? Found this but it doesnt really show a lot or give any information about it. Anybody have any idea about this?

Another ordinary Atari 65XE or is it.......?
Hellraiser replied to Hellraiser's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The motherboard does have a small modification. PAL N works ok in color on NTSC equipment, on European PAL equipment is only shows the image in B/W. -
From the top it looks like any other 65XE. but from the bottom it looks different. Who had thought Atari's were "made" in Argentina.

How much are 1040STs worth nowadays anyways?
Hellraiser replied to Yart's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Both statements are wrong, no need for a new power supply, only needs a 110v to 220v voltage converter which you can get for less that $20, and the monitor would just work fine. I have been using both computers and monitors from all around the world since the 70s and never had any problem, when I lived in Europe, most stuff I had was imported from the US and all I needed to use was a voltage converter to get it to work. -

The price also depends of where you are looking for one, where I am residing right now, South America, first of all if you can find one the price range is between $300 (for a ST, main unit only) upto $600 (for a STE, main unit only). But look for one in Europe and you can find them dirt cheap, I got a 1040STFM and 1040STE for less than €50 (and both had a monitor included). I had to pay around €200 shipping cost but still a great deal . -
It doesnt seem to be down at all, last update on 15 jun 2015. Check it out: http://ftp.pigwa.net/
-
Lets see, a mere 40 (or even a 100) is but a handfull of the +2500 ST games around, me thinks.
-
That depends on where you are located and on how handy you are in upgrading a ST
-
If youre on a budget a 1040 STF/M is more than enough, it will play all ST games. There are only a handfull STe only games and NONE that are worth the extra cost. And if you have extra money to spend, use it to expand the STF/M with more memory and floppy emulator.

-The real Atari 8bit Computer Successor

I guess that honor would go to the Xerox Alto, developed in 1973. -
-The real Atari 8bit Computer Successor
Hellraiser replied to Drummerboy's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
It was always obvious to me the Amiga was more an Atari machine than the Atari ST and that is was more related to the Atari 8bits. I had both, first got the ST as it came out sooner and it was/is a great machine especially as it was designed/build in such a short period of time. When I got the Amiga I didnt feel it was that much better despite the fact it took years to design/build, it had better graphics and sound but a lot of games were not that much better than the ST versions. Some games were better on the ST though, Captain Blood comes to mind... I have both again and I use the ST more to play some games on than the Amiga which I rarely use. Of course the one I use the most to play is my Atari 8bit, in my eyes the best 8bit ever made
