SIO2USB with a FTDI basic breakout board
Hellraiser replied to netbeui's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I tried this with a FT232R breakout board but it doesnt work, the tx led flashes for awhile as the Atari boots but then it stops as it shows the ready screen, I tried with APE and AspeQt and various ATR images, none boot. -
My mistake, I thought it meant you could only use one drive (D1) and not 4 drives at once.
-
Doensnt this "drive ID is hardwired to D1" mean that you can not use 4 SDrives simultaneous?

hmm price seems a bit off, its only 36 Eur shipping included for a FULL functional SIO2SD.......
-
One more thing as I didnt see this mentioned, is there a limit on the size the SD card has to be or can it be any size, I seem to remember some SIO2SD devices stating it only works with upto 2 gb cards, is this the case here too?

Great, then I am going to try this as soon my Arduino plus extras arrives.

Am I right in understanding that with a Arduino uno and a sd card reader, flashing the atmel and connecting it to the Atari this works or do I have to use/build the pcb? Thanks in advance.
