"It is simply because we have moved into next-generation development,"
I think this is key. Before the release of Rebel Strike I remeber reading an article in EGM or some rag, where Factor 5 had talked about an ambitious online Rogue Squadron game. At the time it was insinuated that it would be for the GCNext. I certainly hope this is the plan

Has anyone else seen this? It's for a Volvo S40 or something (I know nothing about cars). Anyway, the commercial is presented as if it's a vid, with PS2-like graphics. I thought I was watching a trailer for Gran Turismo 4 at first. Strange but cool. It just shows how mainstream video games are right now and totally hits the appropriate target market of Males 18-34 with disposable income. Looking for a car? Like PS2? Volvo's for you!
Thoughts?

I think I remember seeing some sealed stuff at my local game shop. Feel free to Pm me if you want me to scope it out for you

GBA:Donkey Kong Country and SMB Famicom
Xbox:
Vexx and Futurama
Cube:
Zelda Collectors Edition (Ocarina)
You have superior taste in games.

Was this game originally intended for the NES? I love the style and gameplay, but the NES hardware seems pretty under-utilised on this one.
For it's time the graphics are not too good and it doesn't really "fit the mold" in terms of the style of most NES games. It always seemed to me like a PC game or something that was ported to NES for the cash grab...

How good are you at racing games?
Usually lousy. This can be attributed to a general lack of interest in most racers however
Can you keep your cool and not get frustrated at higher levels or when you make too many mistakes? I can't keep my cool on ANY games. Once I start sucking, the system goes off
You prefer cartoon or realisitic racing titles?
Cartoony for sure. Mario Kart IS racing. Love Cel Damage too

Nintendo DS of course!

So far in April:
GameCube - Mario Kart Double Dash (Mirror Mode is EVIL!), Jedi Knight 2, Midway Arcade Treasures
NES - PinBot, High Speed, Double Dragon, Castlevania 3, Ninja Gaiden
GBA - Activision Anthology, Zelda Famicom Mini
VCS - Ice Hockey
SNES - Gradius 3, Mario All Stars, WWF Royal Rumble
Wish I had more spare time to dedicate to these awesome titles though
-
I'd like to add Kid Icarus as an Honorable Mention. And what about the original Castlevania? I consider this a 'must port ' for the Famicom / NES minis
-
I've always liked the 'X-Universe' not as much as the real Mega Man, but still had a great personality. What about Mega Man Xtreme? The 8-bit Mega Man X titles for GB. Never tried them, but forever intrigued...
-
Ice Hockey is sooo easy even with Difficulty A and on game 3, I crush the computer every time . Most times I win by at least 9 goals
-
Sheesh, $30 is awfully expensive... For any of you who actually want these, you'll save yourself at least $10 by waiting for Nintendo to bring them hereI imported Zelda from Lik Sang knowing that they would be coming over. Once I saw the differences in packaging I will always favour the Jap versions, even if they cost more

I'm shocked no one has mentioned Saturday Night Slam Masters for SNES. It's sort of a Street Fighter / Final Fight / Wrestling hybrid, but it kicks arse
-
There is a legit sequel for GB - The Rescue of Princess Blobetta or something.
-
I 've always loved that game! Really wish they'd make a next gen sequel or something

Thanks for the input, the lists and recommendations'll help.
I agree that most of these games do suck, but it's more of a kitschy thing and I like to "have them all" as it were.
BTW - I have Pro Wresting, have for years and it kind of sucks too. Don't get me wrong, it's cool enough and easily the best NES wrestling game, but it is really just a button masher. If you use the NES Advantage, challenge factor = zero.
-
I am trying to put together a "subcollection" of all NES wrestling titles. Any one know what I should be looking for, or have a complete list of wrestling games for the system?

-
If you like PinBot, you have to also find High Speed for the NES. It's the same basic thing, but based on a different pinball machine. I personally prefer PinBot just a little more, but I was really surprised by High Speed's great quality too.I went looking in the wild, found High Speed and bought it based on your recommendation. You're right - same idea, but different enough. Also much faster! I'll be logging some hours on this one too.
Any more NES pinball recommmendations?

We're getting a bit out of the video game realm here, but Star Wars kicks ass, so hey why not.
I highly doubt that that'll be the new title. Did you catch the rerun of the Simpsons last night? In mocking the Phantom Menace they had renamed it the Gathering Storm. Of course you never know what George will come up with
BTW - Bounty Hunter does rule. Especially if you are right into SW lore and such. The detail and the characters etc are like crack to a hardcore SW geek
-
I'll bet that way more people got Nintendo Power / registered the requisite games / bought a Cube to get the Collector's Edition.
Though WW did well enough, I question how many pre-ordered it, in comparison.
-
For every system I own, I do this everytime. I think I read or theorised that turning off any game from the title screen is easier on your hardware than if you just flick it off during play, thereby slightly prolonging the life of the system.
Any one have feedback on this? Urban myth?
-
Hey dude, want a free copy of Super Wrestlemania for your new SNES?Yes please
-
I have this for Cube and dig it a lot. Considering it's value priced, well worth checking out. Gamplay is fast and fun and the cinemas (which I generally can live without) are pretty cool as well
