Star Wars: Clone Wars -- better than I thought
figgler replied to kisrael's topic in Modern Console Discussion
We're getting a bit out of the video game realm here, but Star Wars kicks ass, so hey why not. I highly doubt that that'll be the new title. Did you catch the rerun of the Simpsons last night? In mocking the Phantom Menace they had renamed it the Gathering Storm. Of course you never know what George will come up with BTW - Bounty Hunter does rule. Especially if you are right into SW lore and such. The detail and the characters etc are like crack to a hardcore SW geek -
I'll bet that way more people got Nintendo Power / registered the requisite games / bought a Cube to get the Collector's Edition. Though WW did well enough, I question how many pre-ordered it, in comparison.

For every system I own, I do this everytime. I think I read or theorised that turning off any game from the title screen is easier on your hardware than if you just flick it off during play, thereby slightly prolonging the life of the system. Any one have feedback on this? Urban myth?

Yes please

I have this for Cube and dig it a lot. Considering it's value priced, well worth checking out. Gamplay is fast and fun and the cinemas (which I generally can live without) are pretty cool as well -
Yoshi's Island is about as fun and well designed as platformers get

Over the years I think I've finished various SF2s with every character but Dhalsim and Zangief. Anyone ever seen these endings? Blanka's reunion with his mom rules the fighting genre
-
I was wondering the same thing....what's wrong with the original cases? I have a need to keep everything in PERFECT condition. Open the game, remove the disc and slip the original case away to be touched as little as possible. The official Nintendo wallet is the way to go

The label art on this cartridge is worth the price of admission alone I think the music on the title screen is done well also. It is only a short tune, but sounds like the super nintendo Donkey kong country. It is the same tune that Cranky is playing from the opening of DKC methinks

Not true! I have a controller from ASCII that is the best ever. Same shape, size and feel as the official one, but with rapid and autofire switches for each individual button + slow mo. It has a short cord, but hey.

Multiplayer Gamecube suggestions please....

You should pick up a copy of Star Wars Rebel Strike. It's cheaper now and the original missions from Rogue Squadron 2 are available 2-Player style. Awesome -
Going back to the original NES title: I jsut beat this one today for the first time in fact. The last boss on the roof was Simon, but at the beginning of the game it mentions 'Slick'. What gives? Should I play through it again in expert mode?

I've really been getting into Climber 5 on Activision Anthology GBA. Can't get past level 6 yet. This gaem is perfect for the bus ride to work

Is Wrath of the Black Manta any good?

I love this game! Treasury is the best looking level of all. The continual ghosts flying around is priceless. In terms of difficulty, nothing gets me more frustrated than the bird-man with the staff right near the end. That boss is such a bitch even in the first quest
-
You're right, my local gaming store asks 29.99 for Mario All Stars/World. Ridiculous! Luckily there is a good number of fun games that I've hunted down for $5-$7; Breath of Fire, Art of Fighting, Gradius 3 and such. In general though, SNES isn't getting cheaper anytime soon

It's the part in the fake article when they draw quotes form a source who *gasp* "actually liked Virtual Boy" and go on about the rapid price reductions the new product will undergo when no one buys it. That's pretty convincing Nintendo bashing I say
-
I would buy this in a second flat, but only with the red and black. That said, does anyone else out their find this a little "inapropriate" ? I just think that it's bad form to poke fun at Nintendo this way on a site many people are going to because the are Nintendo fans. They do this all the time.

Right on man! I honestly believe that IGN is total pollution. It seems their focus is furthering the kinds of attitudes and trends that will make me hate modern gaming oneday
-
I always liked this game, but these days I can't get enough of it. I love the cool special effects - when the ball turns into a cube and the "enemies" appear. Loads of fun, an awesome blend of video game and pinball

Anyone? Anyone? Seriously can any one out there hook me up with a Top Loader working in top condition? PM away.... Anyone?
-
Have a look at this lot and PM if you like. I'm looking to sell it all or trade for NES stuff. Console and every game tested and working. Boxed games shown come with instructions, Star Raiders is complete and nearly new. Thanks!

15 Classics For 50 Bucks - Worthwhile?
figgler replied to PaleGreen's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Actually I took them up on the NES deal a few days ago. Nothing here is great or rare, but depending on where you live it may suit your needs. For instance I can never seem to find any PowerPad games even though they are easy to come by (according to most) and this was a great way to snag a couple plus grab a bunch of common titles I wanted but never seem to buy at the game shop.
