  1. Just don't jump backward and forward, or forward and backward. So long as everything flows on the real timeline, it'll be alright.

For example - I like to play AC before work in the morning. However, playing at 7 am is no good, because the stores aren't open, so I roll the clock ahead and play as if it's 10 am. Then when I get home to play at night, I put the clock back to where it should be.

There's no potential for Resetti, or confusing the logic of the game there, and I don't really think of it as cheating. More like re-scheduling AC to fit my life, rather than rescheduling my life to fit AC.

  2. I am down with this. Been waiting a long time for it actually. Some of the rewards are pretty funny, like playing cards :) I can see myself hording the points I earn and fearing spending them just in case something better comes out.

Cool thing is I am entering games right now. The site is bogged, but it looks like it works retroactively as it finds and allows me to add certain games that I registered long ago. Site is sooo slow. I just did a survey for Animal Crossing WW and I think it bombed out.

  3. I finally got around to playing ;). So here's my codes or whatever:

    Name: Ice (easy ;))

    Town: Emmytown

    Code: 5284-5161-7511

    Fruit: Peaches

I am going to add you tonight when I get home. Been too busy to go online lately, but I need to again soon. Need to get rid of that crying cat in my town! Ccville - I'm looking at you ;)

My 3rd bridge is up now and the placement is pretty good. Not where I would have put it if I had the choice, but it was the better of the 2 options they gave me and it'll make my apple picking a lot easier.

It has occurred to me also that I think I am going to need to cheat at Christmas. I don't plan on being in town that day, but I don't want to miss Jingle, so I think when I return home, I will need to roll the clock back and play Christmas at least before rolling the clock forward again to the real time.

  4. I actually got to mess around with this a bit on the weekend.

My friend is right into it and insisted I come over to check it out. This friend of mine is big on hype and eats up whatever he is told, so we don't see eye to eye on a lot of stuff. He once told me he bought Little Big Planet only after reading somewhere that the Sackboy character was intended to be Sony's next big mascot. That's the reason he bought the game, I am totally serious.

So yeah - Home. I guess it is pretty cool for what it is. I am just not wholly sure what it is for. Is it basically an MMORPG where you can watch movie trailers and play minigames after waiting your turn? What's the big picture here? I realise this is 'Beta', but I feel like it's missing something, though maybe I just don't get it since I haven't really read anything about it. Just kind of jumped in and checked it out.

  5. Today is a snow day in Goobville! So feel free to stop by for some fishing. It'll probably be only cookie for a little while since I will be out for a bit.

    Cool.

The fishing tourney is coming up this weekend, so any tips? Can I cheat at this and fish in advance?

Also, I'm getting a 3rd bridge built soon through the Town Fund which is kind of cool. Apparently all the residents are voting for 1 of 2 locations for it.

  6. Well in layman's terms, Fable plays a lot like Diablo II. Similiar game engine and gameplay mechanics.

They did indeed port Baldur's Gate to Cube, if that's similar. Not nearly as complex as Diablo 2, but I thought it was cool and I beat it. Gauntlet Dark Legacy is just a hacker, but it's kind of the same idea I guess.

  7. Okay, I have everyone here added now.

    And, I pose 3 queries;

    - how many animals is the max for your town? Is it possible to have someone living in each lot? Right now I have 10.

    - are any AAers here playing from Europe or Asia? I read that there are region specific events.

    - has anyone ever said anything about ongoing support from Nintendo? Like DLC or item patches or something?

  8. My theory is that all the kiddies who loved the first three STAR WARS movies growing up were kind of blind to their flaws. When they watched a new movie (done in that style) without the nostalgia of their youth, they had a huge letdown when seeing those same flaws in a new film.

You're pretty much dead on here.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull suffers from the exact same phenomenon.

  9. All in all, I think you need to be a huge Star Wars geek (like me) to see this as anything other than a pretty good action game that's worth playing through one time only.

Okay, so I should get it then? On a scale of: (Thrawn Trilogy (incredible) ---- Attack of the Clones (terrible beyond belief)) where does the story fall?

I'm from the camp where pretty much everything Star Wars related is rated on a scale of Incredible ---- Pretty Cool. :jango:

If you are a big geek, you'll like the small touches like Rodians, getting to toss around a wheelbike and Garm Bel Iblis. Parts of the story are inconsistent and just stupid though. The controls are fun - like Zelda kind of, but different. Nunchuk Force chokes are cool too. So, I don't know. I bought it the day it came out and beat it maybe 8 days later. I don't regret buying it, but I kind of wish I'd waited until it was 34.99

  10. EDIT: On second thought, I did think of one game I'd consider buying myself. How is the Force Unleashed? How is it on the Wii?

It's okay. Easy, with only one difficulty level - no real replay value. The story tries to be great, but has a million holes in it and takes too many liberties in my view. It's pretty repetive - kill, kill, kill. 90% of the combos and upgrades are unneccesary and not used.

All in all, I think you need to be a huge Star Wars geek (like me) to see this as anything other than a pretty good action game that's worth playing through one time only.

  11. I've been working on the Mushroom set and Robo set and need to check to find out if I'm missing any of those items.

I am pretty sure I have complete Robo set that can be ordered via catalogue. I'll have to open up my town, have you over and see what I can order for you.

  12. Even if the major companies did put all their resources into making "green" systems, the next week these people would be saying "But you use toxic dye in the labels!"

And this would be wrong exactly how?

I am a little surprised by some of the short sightedness here to be honest. I mean, they have a point.

Companies need to think about stuff like this. Have a responsibilty to, in fact.

Not saying that I'm all about Greenpeace or anything, but making excuses for companies who pollute the earth and cracking tofu jokes is a) not terribly intelligent and b) an example of everything that's wrong with consumerism as a whole. "I like buying this product, so I don't care"

  13. You gonna be on AC tonight at all man? I still need to visit your town sometime or have you visit mine. My Able Sisters needs to be pimped with your fabulous Superman gear! :)

    -MrsMMF (aka Chelzie)

Ha ha nice. "Real life" has been getting in the way of my AC life for the past 2 days. Tonight though I should be on for a while

  14. Quick question: do I have to have other people's CONSOLE friend numbers added in addition to the Animal Crossing codes? I am not sure if I can't connect to anyone because no one is my friend (I added all you guys!), if the Nintendo servers are still messed up, or if I am doing something else wrong.

You won't need anyone's console code, just the AC code. I haven't added you as yet but I will once I get the chance
