  1. Looks to me like it's going to be a completely different Brain. Father Brain perhaps? They do talk about how the computers have different genders and whatnot. Also, if you follow the story, I don't see how it could be the original MB from Metroid Zero, since it's pretty much hardwired into Zebes and regenerates (I assumed) for Metroid 3.
  2. Yeah ditto. I just found a Vindicators cart a few weeks back and it'd give me an excuse to try it out
  3. I don't know of another way to Operation Wolf with a gun at home. Not saying there isn't one of course, but NES does offer it and it's fun enough. Shooting Gallery is pretty different and has some character too. Konami made a few games where the gun is optional, but the better if you use it like Bayou Billy and Lone Ranger. Gun games are not worth buying an NES for, unless you are a light gun freak. However, if you have an NES, you need to have a few of these games as a number of them are decent to good
  4. Wondering if anyone has ever used this thing called a Handy FamiEight and what you think. Even if you haven't used it, throw in your 2 cents. I've been wanting a portable NES for ages, and being that I have an GBA SP, this is a much cheaper option than a GameAxe. Basically it looks like this thing is a shell/converter that allows you to play NES carts on an SP or a TV. Let me know what you think guys about this or if you have better ideas about portable NES gaming. Thanks http://cgi.ebay.ca/PORTABLE-NINTENDO-NES-S...1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. Beat Dragon's Curse yesterday afternoon. Good ending that I was satisfied with I guess. I wish that the game would have gone on longer, but no doubt I will just play through it again some time. I guess there aren't any direct follow-ups to this game eh? I really like the gameplay and the shape shifting ability concept was pretty cool, especially in the beginning when you were not able to change forms, but had to find your way around using the abilities of the form you'd been cursed with. Good times and 3 big  from me
  6. My first 3 choices are so far ahead, there isn't much purpose in selecting a #4 or #5. 1. NES - this is a no-brainer for me. The most revolutionary games at the time and the strongest lineup of any system I've ever owned by far 2. Super NES - better than Genesis. Yeah I said it. 3. GameCube - I look at it this way - I can play more games I like on Cube than any other system in existence. With the GBA Player it is untouchable in terms of library.
  7. I don't have this game so I can't play. I'm thinking even if I did I probably wouldn't join this week due to this game sucking ass. Damn you all for voting this in when we could have been playing Cobra Command or Vindicators!
  8. Yeah I think Wii has WB in Monster Land up for download, so I will likely grab that once Dragon's Curse is beaten. Right now I am in what I can only assume is the last dungeon. It's accessible only with Hawk-Man and you can't leave once you enter, which is always a sign of the end. I wish you could save potions in this though. I wouldn't have gotten this far without them and they make the bosses much easier. However, I've probably spent more time hunting potions or money to buy them than anything else.
  9. I don't think anything is going to get you into trouble with anyone. And, personally I say go with wood. It look better IMO and the whole technology meets nature paradox makes it a functional art piece with something to say.
  10. New updated list here guys. 2007 is actually a slower year in terms of me beating games so far Final Fantasy III - DS Touch Detective - DS Bonk's Adventure - GB Bonk's Revenge - GB Duck Tales - GB Metal Slug 1 - Wii Bomberman '93 - Wii Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Wii Final Fantasy IV Advance - GBA New Adventure Island - Wii Pokemon Pearl Version - DS Contra (Konami Classics Arcade Hits) - DS Dragon's Curse - Wii
  11. Where's your profile pic man?

  12. Couldn't you use a cartridge for this? As in, use a clean cart with some alcohol on it and insert, remove, insert, remove to clean the contacts in your system? The way I have always cleaned NESs is to take them apart and soak the connector in alcohol for a bit, but that's not terribly practical
  13. ... and what do you think? Makes me think of Pinball Quest, which I know it can't resemble at all, but still a weird genre-meld there. So is it good? Like $20 good? It's been out for a while now, so I am hoping someone has played it through to the end and so won't recommend through rose coloured 'new game I love' glasses. Many thanks
  14. This doesn't actually clean anything. It might provide a temporary solution and get your game to work but is actually quite damaging to the contacts in your games and subsequently the system. Moisture in your breath = corrosion. The tried and true method of alcohol and a cotton swab actually cleans the games, keeps your system clean and should help your cartslast a good long time.
  15. Touche. However, being whipped is fine, so long as she doesn't know about it.
  16. Awesome. I do that too. Most recently with a bunch of Star Wars Vehicles I bought. Straight under the couch they went and when she found them it's all "those aren't new, I just brought them out of storage."
  17. It's interesting, but yeah. I think SNK was saying that whatever they needed to integrate the Classic in time wasn't made available to them unitl too late. I'd very much recommend the Hori SNES-esque pad for GCN if you have / can find one. That or a straight-up arcade stick'd do it.
  18. I've been Pirhana Man for a while now, and just earned the ability to get into the room to switch forms. This game is getting better and tougher all the time. I've got the music stuck in my head most of the day Oh, and the shopkeepers are purple pigs smoking cigarettes. How awesome is that?
  19. Holy shit. Talk about thick. I don't like to comment on this stuff too much, because someone is going to stamp fanboy on my head, but this guy needs to wake up. Does the average Sony employee actually buy this crap when they spout it at company meetings? He is giving Nintendo some credit, but this kind of outlook is outdated by almost a year now. None of the hundreds of thousands of consumers that buy a Wii each month would give a flying shit if Wii was a re-purposed NES. It's not the point anymore! This is like DS and PSP all over again. Get a clue soon and adapt or else.
  20. Okay so is Adventure Island or is Dragon's Curse Wonder Boy 3? I always though Wonder Boy 1 and Adventure Island were the same. And how did this all start anyway? I mean, who is stealing code from whom? I feel like these games have Hudson written all over them, but then again maybe I just don't know better. I've been a huge fan of Adventure Island for a long time now, but I've never really played anything from the Wonder Boy series. Perhaps I should. There are 4 Adventure Islands for NES - how many are original game then? I know the GameBoy AIs are just the NES versions - as in AI for GameBoy is AI2 NES and AI2 for GB is AI3 NES. The Super Adventure Island games for SNES though I assume are originals, along with New AI that's been mentioned already...
  21. Checked out the Shop Channel for the first time this summer and I think it's looking pretty good. I still see room for improvements in the interface (like, gameplay video instead of stills would be nice) but still, there is a very nice array of games up there now with most genres covered nicely. So I dowloaded 2 games on a whim since I have a lot of points; Dragon's Curse and Chew Man Fu. I didn't know anything about these games other than the descriptions in the Shop, and that they are Hudson's. Looks like I really lucked out with Dragon's Curse, and Chew is surely going to be good - I really dig single screen action puzzlers
  22. No one told me that this game was so flippin' awesome. But, luckily I've discovered this for myself via Wii. Fantastic little platforming adventure so far I must say. Though I am not surprised as I'm drawn to a lot of Hudson stuff. Dragon's Curse has a great style and a whole lot of whimsy - always good in a game, particularly an adventure or platformer. I'd say it's a really, really great blend of Adventure Island, Legacy of the Wizard and Simon's Quest. Huge from me, can't wait to explore further as the Mouse Man...
  23. 24, 290 today. My computer is messed and won't allow uploads, so I'll add the pic tomorrow somehow.
  24. There were some really great gmaes for N64 to be sure. Nintendo and Rare made some of the best games ever made for that system. Unfortunately I feel like there are about 10 or 12 games that are totally awesome, all-time greats, then just a bunch of other stuff. Part of what makes a system great to me is discovering great titles I've never played and with N64 I don't think I can. And - I know it's been mentioned, but as soon as I saw this thread I though "Mischief Makers". It's the only 2D game I ever played for 64, and a pretty great (and difficult) one too. Shake Shake!
  25. We'll see old chum. I'll PM you in a month to see what the ratio was of pillows and/or candles to video games amongst your wedding gifts. I'm guessing 3:0
