The original TMNT had more than a couple ads for Pizza Hut, both in the arcade and on NES. The coolest ads I ever saw were the playable ones for Gradius that were put into the intermissions of Blades of Steel

I'm a pretty big Hudson fan, so I like this. However, I need to gripe a bit because Hudson has a good list of games for other systems that are worth having too. Xexyz, Milon, Bomberman, Dino Riki and Felix on the NES are good. Okay, maybe not Dino Riki so much. Still, I have never been able to find the Bomberman 2 cart or Adventure Island 3 and 4, so if they ended up on the VC I'd be quite pleased

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
figgler replied to RickHarrisMaine's topic in Modern Console Discussion
It's an action game mostly and a hell of an awesome one too. Easily the best horror game I ever played, mostly because it's so smart in it's story telling, the scares are real and the gameplay is very cool. There are some exploitations you can pull off toward the end that make the game kind of easy though. You can craft your own spells in the game and if you think about it and try diffferent stuff you can make spells that continually refill your vitals -
I am thinking while America's Next Top Model is on. 8-9 EST I think. I can't get at the Wii during this time, because I am not allowed. I'll probably be digging up fossils and writing letters instead

Here's my info I dug up from a previous post of mine. I play most evenings for a bit at least and will most likely be online Wednesday and Thursday nights this week

VC games are awesome. Some one is going to post after me some gripes about prices, unenhanced roms, no online play, etc. But these things don't bother me much. Convenience is where it's at and getting those hard to find titles or games from a system I don't own is pretty cool. I love that I can turn on the Wii, send some Miis, go to Everybody Votes, browse AA, then fire up Bomberman or some other VC game all without switching carts or even getting up Here's what I've got so far and all of them are obviously good games; Altered Beast Alien Crush Bonk's Adventure Bomberman 93 Gunstar Heroes Splatterhouse Mario Kart 64 Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

OMG. Do Gabriel and I agree on something? Next thing you know I'll be playing a PSP. But seriously folks, reviews are pretty much shit. When and if they start reviewing games more in the vein of the way they do movies I'll start paying attention. Just the fact that they dissect a game down to it's basic elements is insulting to the art. Most reviewers seem to want to break things out, so a game gets a sepreate score for Graphics, Sound, Gameplay, Replay, Blah, Blah, Whatever. Can you imagine the laughability of critics scoring movies on individual parts like Cinematography, Acting, Plot, Sound, Special Effects, etc? I mean they'll comment on these things, but to treat the piece as if it's nothing more than the sum of its individual parts does no justice to the game, the reviewer, or the gaming journalism 'industry'. Thank god I've been around long enough that reviews have no bearing on the choices I make. I know pretty much instantly what games I want based on developer, system, franchise and reader comments from AA members, and stuff like that.

Is any one else still playing this? Or playing it again like me? I've gotten back into it lately and try to hop on the WFC most nights to see who is on. Which is no one. So come on and let's play! Also looking for advice here. If you have been playing you know that the Flower Fest ends Sunday. Any tips on how to win the Green Thumb? I've been trying to nicely plant, mostly focusing on pansies and tulips, but I have no idea how well my flowers will be rated vs. the animals in the town..

Holy Crap! They were way ahead of schedule!

I don't knw why I didn't get the message, but I will grab it from Wii Shop later. So what are the enhancements anyway? The original version was fine with me to be honest. -
Gamestop spoils Twilight Princess ending in stores
figgler replied to 8th lutz's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Agreed. Very simple and emotional with things conveyed more in the eyes of the characters than with text or some over-dramatic blow off. I felt this was pretty great story telling too, not unlike OOT -
This looks like it could be cool. Yes it's basically the same collection I've seen a bunch of times, but it is looking to include Dig Dug 2, which I haven't seen in a while. Don't think I've ever even played any version other than the NES one. The really cool thing is the inclusion of Pac-Man Vs. If you've played PM Vs, you know that it is totally awesome. Mind you if you can't play it on the WFC (and it looks like you can't), it's not going to be anywhere near as fun as it could've been. http://ds.ign.com/articles/779/779364p1.html

Yes it is. This strikes me as a "mature" GTA. As in there isn't lots of swearing and "dirty" jokes thrown in to appeal to 17 year olds. Being the Godfather, this is indeed Mature content, as in best enjoyed by adults. Still good immature fun though. Staring mob wars and getting the cops on your ass to the point where the neighbourhood is nothing but chaos is just too fun

Now I enjoyed the last Paper Mario game for as much as I've played it. What you've mentioned above though has me instantly sold on this new game. New SMB 2? I am so there

Because the majority of "mature" gamers, are short-sighted and prefer irrational video game dsicussions. Even here at AA where intelligence standards are higher

I recommend checking here http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetai...amp;catid=24674 Free delivery nationwide I believe

I love how Nintendo stays right out of this stuff most of the time. Nothing says mature like staying out of pointless bickering wars while the kiddies fight it out.

16 Bit wars finally over - Mario and Sonic team up
figgler replied to figgler's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Mario fits into any kind of game. He's proven that to us time and again by starring in tonnes of Action, RPG, Sports, Dancing, Racing, Painting, Party games, etc. I think this Olympic set up is a very good one as it will centre on competition between the Mario clan and the Sonic guys. This is most likely only the tip of the iceberg and not a bad way to get the cross overs going I say. -
I say Wii Play. Do you have anyone else to play with? It certainly is fun with 2 players, though I have had a lot of fun on my own too. If you like short and simple 2600 games you likely will enjoy Wii Play. Think of it as Wii-Tari.

Starrring in an Olympics game no less http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3158286 I can't find any evidence of this being a hoax either. Will this be the game that makes those Olympic games something other than shelf warming shovel ware? it would certainly make it more interesting and worth a look from me. Not to mention all the cross over possibilities this brings to the table

I don't have many problems with the controller at all. Tying to kill a guy with a garotte wire had me wondering if I was doing wrong or if it was broken. Other than that though, everything works well. Free aim especially is cool. I don't see it as useless at all. The aiming reticule is pretty accurate making it very easy to land head or knee shots as appropriate.

Picked this up a few days ago and so far I like it a lot. Cool the way it uses the Godfather story without making it too stupid or interfering much. The game world is huge to the point where it's daunting, but the map is pretty good and highlights most of what I need to refer to. The options too are pretty overwhelming, from the character creation, the stat upgrades, outfits, weapons - all of it is enormous. I feel like I've played for 5 hours and done almost nothing. The controls are the fun part though for me. There is something very satisying about smashing up a bakery with a bat by swinging the remote around. Tossing guys around, banging their heads on counters, delivering headbutts or punching their faces in is even better. The controls are pretty responsive most of the time and the actions work like you'd want/expect them to. I can see myself playing this one for a good long time to be sure. Anyone else have a chance to play this as yet?

How many hours have you logged on Zelda so far?
figgler replied to Shawn's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
So I finally finished Twilight Princess last night at about the 60 hour mark. I haven't played a game with such depth and of such stunning overall quality ever I'd say. There has got be at least another 10-20 hours of playtime in there as I didn't get all of the upgrades, bugs, hearts, poes or fish. Maybe the next time through I will utilise the guide and aim to pick up everything I missed. Fantastic game though start to finish. I liken to a really great book that takes you forever to read. During the ending as the camera shows some of the characters I'd interacted with months ago and how the story ends for them was awesome. Made me realise just how much progession Link went through in this game; from a farm boy to the final victory at the end. Good stuff -
Take it one step further and try different channels. As in numbers on the dials. Much like my cordless home phone, sometimes I need to switch up the numbers to get a better signal. And mine never works on #1

So I picked up a set of silicone gloves, by Intec I think - one white and one black. Does anyone else use these and how do you find them? Overall I think they make the controllers look kind of cool and the added protection / grip is welcome. I've only found I don't like them for playing with the controller as an NES pad, because the 1 and 2 buttons are a little harder to get at. With something like New Adventure Island, this can make a difference. By and large though, I kind of like them. Not the smell though
