  1. Yeah. If I needed a third Remote, I would just buy Wii Play again and sell it to get some of my money back.
  2. The DS has been out for years and the demand is still not being met on a regualr basis
  3. Who cares what Sony does? Not Mii.
  4. Yep and it also increases the viability of purchasing these games for someone like me. What was once an also-ran GTA rip off game with a Godfather license attached suddenly becomes very interesting indeed and moves to top of games I am looking forward to, simply because it has neat-o Wii controls.
  5. Yeah I thought we talked about this pretty extensively here; http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96802 I thought I read later that is was confirmed to be Japan-only. Either way, my original point from then still stands now as far as I'm concerned. DVD playback = added wear on the mechanism = no thanks.
  6. Elevator Action? Good god what an NES stinker. Isn't Splatterhouse coming this month? i think I will need to buy some more points for that
  7. That sounds pretty fun actually. Make no mistake that I won't be buying this again seeing that I have the Cube version, but still. The Wii control "gimmick" is not wearing thin on me at all and I am lately finding myself interested in games I'd usually turn away from, just for the new control experience.
  8. Was reading about this in Nintendo Power and I must say it's looking pretty cool. I didn't play the Godfather games that were released last year, so I don’t really know what to expect based on those, but apparently this has a lot of added content that looks fun. Grabbing guys by the jacket and headbutting them, tossing guys around, choking them out, hitting them with bats, all implemented with Wii controls. Wii control implementation is becoming a major selling point for me since I have so much fun with even simple diversions like Wii Play. Adding new gestures to something deeper like Godfather really has me looking. Couple that with a create a mobster mode and I think I am actually looking forward to an EA game…
  9. Mine clicks sometimes. I say make sure to remove the disc of whatever game you've been playing as soon as you are done with it. The Wii won't need to reload a disc that isn't there
  10. Nintendo doesn't want you to worry or even think about technical details. Even the word Firmware update is scray territory for people who don't understand these things (like me). MS and Sony love to spit up specs and tech jargon all the time, because a lot of the users of those machines like that stuff. Nintendo though, wants to make things easy for everyone to grasp and do, and thus "Wii Update" is about the only info they are going to give out. Works for me personally as I just want to play and mess around, not so much worry about what ever is going on in the background. I trust that Nintendo is serving me well, and if it turned out that they weren't, I'd just make them fix it.
  11. This is the second time now people haven't like the music much. Is it very different from recent Sonic games? I know it is cheesy, but the over-the-top goofy japanese tunes in Heroes and the Adventure games, and Sonic Rush too actually were all pretty awesome in my view. Awesome as in appropriate and ridiculously catchy, not awesome like I want the CD. Even though I secretly do.
  12. A couple of years ago they did repackage it in a smaller white box, only we called it the PS2 Slim. In any case, let's all please make a concerted effort to stop this Wii is a GameCube stuff. Dear god please
  13. Exactly. Hell I even bought Shadow the Hedgehog so obviously I am not too picky when it comes to Sonic
  14. Revised list with Bomberman 93 added in Final Fantasy III - DS Touch Detective - DS Bonk's Adventure - GB Bonk's Revenge - GB Duck Tales - GB Metal Slug 1 - Wii Bomberman '93 - Wii
  15. Yeah I am digging Wii Play too. It's short but that's good. Had I paid full price, I might be a bit put off, but hte games are fun and it uses Miis which I think is cool. So far the hidden gem at our house is Fishing. My girl and I have been playing for about 20 minutes a night so far and some times she's actually beating me. Good times
  16. Yeah ditto. The TG 16 stuff is really great for me, since I never had one and so far they've released a bunch of games I like. Can't say enough good things about Bomberman 93 which I finally finished. And New Adventure Island just came out. Talk about an immediate download. I've always had a big soft spot for AI, so this release probably would have been near the top of my wish list
  17. LOL I got two version of him. I little one and a big one!! The big one is likely the one I created. There is a mario floating around out there too
  18. I'm not griping about it, basically like I said, I could care less about it. To me it's next to nothing. I don't game hours and hours a day, so when I do sit down to have a good time...That aint it. I'm just not amused by something like that and wish they would focus on something that had some substance and am not afraid to say when something is lame. If I was twelve I might like that goofy shit .Maybe. You say it cool...I say it's a waste. Personally I think someone that would think that was "COOL" needs help! I will however call for help if you think I really really need it, I don't want to endanger society with my terrible opinions!!! A waste of what? Memory on your Wii? Resources at Nintendo? Getting anything for free, then complaining about what a waste it was and how they really should have focused on something else is a basically a gripe. Like when I give homeless people the change from my pocket and they scoff at how little it was, then throw the pennies away. Don't worry, I'm not going all crazy here and starting what will eventually have this thread locked. But, people who don't look at the bright side of something new and free need help. Period. This new feature may not be deep or meaty, but it was dead cheap, a surprise to everyone, and above all else it's a new idea for a game system. How many of those do we see in gaming anymore really? You can argue there is almost nothing to it, and it might not amuse you, but it certainly isn't a waste. It might even get people to turn on their Wiis everyday, or give my girlfriend and her sister a reason to take interest, and that makes it very cool indeed despite the fact that I'm not 12 anymore. Yeah try harder. We hate novelties. How dare you encourage me to download this and interact with it for no charge. Jaded much?
  19. Messed around with the channel yesterday and I must say I think it is very cool. Only Nintendo could make what is basically an MMO game where all you have to do is vote on stuff. The interface is cool, the questions are entertaining I guess, and the stats, predictions and personification of it all are really cool in my book. People who gripe about neat little interactive freebies in their game system need help. I really think little stuff like this makes the Wii so great. It's not just a unique game machine, it's a standalone unique experience and community. It's all about 'we' and Everybody Votes reinforces that. Thumbs up from me
  20. I am pretty sure a network is created that links friends together with their friends friends. For instance, a lot of the Miis I find in parafe have migrated to my machine via my cousin's Wii, but originated at his friend's Wii, who isn't on my friend list but is on his. Make sense?
  21. I use the Cube controller and it works very well. The other Wii control setups range from interesting to stupid. Some of them are fun to try out, but most people won't use them for long.
  22. Good point. And, I really enjoyed this game when I was playing it for GCN. It's Midway, so don't expect too much, but for a new gen Rampage it's certainly better than it could have been. Is there a way for the Wii version to read your GCN memory card or anything? The Cube version was good enough in my books that I'd buy the Wii game (if it was really cheap like $15 or less), but then only if I can use my saves somehow. I'd hate to start over after unlocking a handfull of monsters and upgrading them.
  23. Yes guides are cheating, but I like to keep it in perspective. Back in the day for instance I never would have finished certain games without hint books. Before the days of mandatory start-to-finish guides, I used to sift through Nintendo Power hunting for sporadic tips and then catalogue them away. I didn't think of it as cheating then, so I guess I ought not to now really. Back then it was different though as the enitre game solution could rarely be found in one place and not very conveniently. I never ever would have found the warps in Mario 2, or been able to find the flute in Zelda 2 without things like the Classifed Information seciton of NP.
  24. Yup. Previously I needed to travel to a movie theatre in town to check out Metal Slug 4 as it's the only place I know of that has a machine. If only Metal Slug had online co-op play, it'd be perfect.
