While the geniuses at Sony realized that people like pretty colours and cool images, they forgot that really this is what matters the least in any great game (2600 Centipede? Hello!). But, graphics sell games (in the short term), and Sony has always put a far too heavy emphasis on it to peddle vids. Unfortunately, the up and coming generation of gamers has been brainwashed into this way of thinking, simply because of the market penetration of PS1.

Has anyone used this? It sure looks cool, but that amounts to squat when dealing with alternate controllers. I guess it's compatible with all 3 platforms too. Is it worth the 29.99 (Canadian) price tag?

Yeah, I did this once to a couple of buyers by mistake. Just work it out with the seller. You won't need to pay any shipping, just write RETURN TO SENDER on the package and give it to the mailman, say it's not for you there must be a mistake (this works in Canada anyway) If both buyers do this, the seller can then just re-distribute the games to proper parties

I would wager that a large number of gamers would at least prefer to not play alone all the time, forever. Everybody needs a little 2-P action, right? If you own GCN and want to play with your buddies, you have to buy a 2nd and 3rd or 4th controller. Plus a WaveBird. Nintendo makes tonnes of money selling different coloured controllers for offline multiplayer, while Microsoft bleeds money to support Live as Rhindle put it.

That article's got a bit too much anti-Nintendo spin to really take seriously, even if the numbers don't lie. "Poor sales of GameCube"? Says who? Everything sells poorly if you compare it to PS2

Has anyone ever checked these out? Good god, does anyone mod that stuff? It's like trying to talk about vids in a pre-school. Except that eBay is about making money. People list items to make money anyway they can and the more $ they can keep out of the pockets of the folks that run eBay, the better. I'm not saying it's right, but that is the reality of any online auction site. "If you don't like the shipping, don't bid" is bullshit, you're right about that for sure. But those are the rules of the game nonetheless.

My current 72 pin is only about 6 months old. Plus I have a back-up practically new NES just in case. But I'm still worried sick now...

I hear that, but Soul Calibur 2 is purely awesome. A deal now for sure, but I still think it's worth full price admission
