  1. First batch of 100 boards arrived today, just tested the first board. All good! I'll get on and assemble a load of them next week and start sending out invoices soon.
  2. I should get through the rest this / next week and ship within a few days. I'll drop you a PM when I get to you, and send over a PayPal invoice. Easy.
  3. If a game supports resume and you've not changed the cart since you last booted it, it will skip the splash screens and boot straight into where you left the game. I'm not sure of which games support this.
  4. You're a nerd if you find this picture sexy... It is though, isn't it?
  5. I think this was the post in question http://atariage.com/forums/topic/250637-lynx-multi-card-preorders/page-56?do=findComment&comment=3758800 Yep, will add you to the list, no problem. There are actually only 30-odd left at the end of the list, so I should get to you next week. I've been busy sorting out the NeoGeo Pocket cart and testing hardware for it, so I've not shipped any carts in a couple of weeks. I'll get back to it and clear the rest next week. You dont need to print your own case, it comes with one.
  6. Excellent, thanks! I'll see if I can get this working in the next couple of days.
  7. That EEPROM flag sounds spot on, I'll use that. The directory should work fine, as should LynxSD_OpenFile("saves/flappy.hi") without the leading forward slash just as long as it exists.
  8. Ok, just had a look, and once the Lynx issues the LynxSD_LowPowerMode() command in the menu, it shuts down the cart and enters a low power state. We'll need to use an unused bit in the LNX header or different extension or something to differentiate ROM's which use the features of the memory card and not call this function. I'll have a look at implementing this. Not sure how any other ROM's would be able to access the memory card with regard to the music playing? Was this modifying the menu?
  9. As soon as I have carts to ship, I'll start running through the pre-orders list. So it'll be something like 3-4 weeks time. The list currently stands at about 400 people, but I do intend to get through these reasonably quickly. It should be around 20 a week on average, but can be a bit sporadic as I try and shift time to working on developing new flash carts. As it's just me doing this, I find it easier to just either concentrate on shipping stuff out, or working on the hardware / software. I tend to get "in the zone" and breaking to do other things is quite detrimental to productivity. So at the moment, to the end of the list, its likely to be about 4-5 months lead time at the moment! That went up quick...
  10. I really do intend to keep these coming! Shortly there will be the NeoGeo Pocket FLASH cart as well, just starting production, so only a few weeks.
  11. I'm very open with the way I deal with things, I don't go quiet on a subject. I'm very clear any 2600 / 7800 cart for me is way off, but equally people talking here just goes to fuel my interest in the project. Recent talk of a combined 2600/ 7800 cart for instance has been very interesting to me. I can obviously see this from both sides. I know how much time and effort go into these things, and for the majority of people making hardware like this, this is what they do in their spare time for fun. If you can make a bit of money out of it as well, great. But people, like myself, do these sorts of projects for their own enjoyment. But when life gets in the way, for whatever reason, then your hobbies are the first thing to suffer. But I can naturally see it from a customers point of view. It's great people are frustrated from one perspective, as it means its something people want, but obviously the frustration from those with existing carts they've shelled out decent amounts of money for, which don't work, and no response from the developer will cause justified annoyance. I'm aware things like this have happened on a few different projects here on AA. I'm quite happy if the existing cart gets sorted out in the meantime, it's no skin off my nose as they say, and I would prefer to see other people succeed. But if I get to the point I'm looking for more things to do and it's still not done, I'd find it very interesting trying a bit of coding on the 2600 and 7800.
  12. Make sure to sign up here (http://www.retrohq.co.uk/neogeo-pocket-pre-order) if you want one. I wont be using any requests from the forum!
  13. Yep, going off the list on the website. I'll try and sort some way of checking where you are by entering your email or something on the website. I must admit that's one thing I liked about the Lynx list was the transparency of it all!
  14. Yep, should be beginning of June. I've not checked the difference in power consumption, however it's going to be minimal. I'll try and measure it, although my bench meter only measures down to 0.01 amps, so 10ma increments, so it's likely to not be accurate enough to measure the difference. The battery life of the NGP was actually better than the GB. The estimated figures are about 40 hours on a set of batteries.
  15. I intend to keep these coming forever more! Well, for the foreseeable future anyway...
  16. I've ordered the first batch of 100 boards. These will start going out in about 3-4 weeks. Gives me a little time to just fix any remaining bugs and add the last bits of functionality to the menu.
  17. Including postage -- http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=70&From=GBP&To=USD
  18. You still get half the boot sequence that way -- with the above version hack you get not boot sequence at all.
  19. I'll get through the remaining lot in the next couple of weeks, so not long.
  20. Eek, loose case! That's one thing I don't like about the Lynx carts is the fact I have to glue on the cases. Super glue is nasty stuff and it seems sometimes comes unstuck in the post!!
  21. Yeah, could do. Might be worth having an options tab as well perhaps... "fast boot" or something...
  22. I think the last issue with the menu software has been sorted tonight. Will wait a on the final word from the lovely testing people, then we can get this thing started. And I found something else fairly random out while hacking with the NGP BIOS. If you set the game version to 0xfffe it doesn't display the startup sequence and goes straight into the game. You can modify any cart, just set the bytes of the ROM image at 0x20/0x21 to 0xfe/0xff. Something left over from the development system I'm guessing...
  23. Oooh, double ended. Interesting thought!
