So, I learned the truth last night and then got captured and thrown into the sun ring with a corrupted behemoth.
At this point I am taking a break. This boss does not look like any fun.
-
I tried this. It has mixed results. The few suspect games now load, but will crash in game after a few minutes. I'm thinking it still needs to have the 7805 swapped out for the1.5amp one, and maybe re-cap it.
I would try just the regulator swap first. Interested to hear your results on this modified system.

I have thought of attempting laser blast myself. If source code to this (see video) were available, it looks like a good starting point to me.

It would be a challenge (living without electricity) but, if people would not freak out, I think it wouldn't be as bad as some make it out to be.
-
People in the past survived a long while without electricity. It just would not be as much fun.

Maybe Ben Heck could do an EMP proof case for a classic Atari then? If the good hardware needs to stay on earth.

Someone should be contacting Elon Musk about sending an Atari 7800 and games to Mars in case the Earth gets wiped out.
Albert goes to the launches right? Maybe he can just slip a 7800 in one of the astronaut's luggage.
Pack it in a box labeled "Backup Navigation Computer" and include a cart of This Planet Sucks.

So easy to get sidetracked in this game.
I spent last evening hunting fox near Sigma Cauldron so that I could get a fox skin to trade for a golden fast travel pack.
One would think fox skin would not be so rare since presumably every fox has one.

HZD is a very entertaining game for sure.

I hope you have a PS4 Pro because it looks even better on it since it was optimized to do so. Those cutscenes are stunning. I cannot play it for long at a time because I cannot stand the PS4 controller.
No, I got my PS4 long before Pro was available. There was a time in my life when cutting edge electronics were a priority for me but that time passed. I can hold out for PS5

Or, should I hold out for PS5 Pro? Hmmm.

Just recently started playing Horizon Zero Dawn.
I really like it so far.
Got kind of hung up getting the trip caster. From internet searches I see more than a few others hit a snag there as well.
My problem was, I thought I needed to sell the scrapper lens rather than buy the trip caster. So, when I was looking in my resources I could not find the scrapper lens. I did not notice until I had been to the Western Cul-de-sac and killed all the scrappers there that the scrapper lens was in inventory under the special item category.
After I went back to the trader and bought the trip caster, everything went smoothly.

Has to be a conspiracy of some kind - but why?

Been a looooong time since I did one of these but I think the pdf in the thread above may have been what I used. The factory kit was much easier.

Ebay to highest bidder and let the market decide.................
Yup. Absolutely the way to go with protos. I would list each one separately - explain what you know about it if anything and upload some good photos then see what they bring.

Some of the pcb you have posted look like production 7800 32k rom boards (smaller size boards). If the chips do not have windows or stickers on them and have Atari part numbers printed on them such as begin with CO followed by some numbers then those are production boards that would probably not be worth much at all.
Someone will probably want that 7800 high score cart though and if the TT computers are in good shape they could sell well.
Is there just one 7800 high score cart? There were 3 pics posted is why I ask.
-
There were labels including two fight night labels so no clue which carts they belong.
Also there are Two Computers. TT030. And. TT030/8. Neither I can find for Sale on the n no clue on value n that slot part with paper sttached
The "slot part with paper attached" is a part they inserted into the 3 1/2 inch floppy drives for shipping. I threw mine away back in the day. Probably most people did. I don't know that it would have much value but who knows.
Lots of fun pics there. The chips with the glass windows should be covered as they are erased by UV light (sunlight). I am guessing the glue on the stickers gave up and they fell off those eprom chips.
Part of the fun of protos is having that snapshot of their work in progress to try to understand their thought process as they developed the games. If the data is lost, I would think the value of the proto would be greatly reduced.

Just finished playing Dishonored: Death of the Outsider and there was one very annoying bit in Chapter 5 that I wanted to talk about.
You come upon a gate that has a three digit lock code. From what I have read from browsing the web so far, the code is thought to be randomized each time you play. Some people have said that you can find a note with the code on it in the building to the left of the gate if you go up the stairs.
After trying for a very long while to locate the note with the gate code and not finding it, I was able to bypass the gate by entering the building to the left and using the rail car lift to access the restricted room on the second floor. From there you can go out the window and proceed.
Getting into the restricted room is a trick. I first shot the wooden cross bars away, then set a marker where I would displace onto the rail car lift, then turned the crank wheel to lift the platform, displaced - quickly opened the door and jumped into the room as the lift begins to fall.

Rich folks should spend money. It needs to keep circulating.

Got mine today. Nice device. Would be nice to have the option to select and launch games with controller only (no keyboard) for XEGS. It is very handy otherwise.
Thanks for making these available.

Nice! I like it.

Frogus
in Atari 7800
Changed the music. Added some increase in difficulty as you progress. Changed the rules a little. As before, you must collect a fly in order to enter the gate/cave. Now you may also collect additional flies before entering the gate/cave. Each bonus fly scores an additional 25 points. Collect 10 bonus flies and earn yourself an extra frog. Be careful not to run out of time though.
At the beginning of the game, the number 10 is displayed to the right of the rightmost cave. That number will count down as you collect bonus flies so that you know how many flies you still need in order to earn a free frog. You may only have a maximum of five frogs = one in play and four in reserve. If you collect ten bonus flies but already have the maximum frogs, you will not receive a bonus frog and the counter will reset. Manage your resources carefully.

Frogus
in Atari 7800
Tightened up collision detection, made gate/cave entry more forgiving, changed the time pressure indicator by extending it and replacing the lattice blocks with open blocks, modified the way the program handles screen updates reducing the burden on the main loop and animated the fly.

Thanks for the comments Swami. I should be able to fix those issues. Just have not had time to work on it the last few days.

No pics but, recently I have been playing PMC with a proline. I like it. The button location on the prolines sucks though so I don't use the proline for shooters. I have thought about making a proline with the buttons relocated above the stick. A couple of slanted / / buttons right above the stick should be pretty comfy on the thumb. Anyone got any suggestion on buttons that might work well for such a mod?

Trace to C10 was damaged so tracked it back. First jumped in before C14 but that produced pokey audio at much reduced volume relative to TIA even with R5 removed. So put R5 back and jumped in to South end of R5. Works to my liking now with both TIA and Pokey audio.
Thanks for the tips everyone. Got us on the road again.

Decided to take the plunge and sign up for the wait list. Hope my email box doesn't get flooded with technical details, schematics, development information, advertising, pre-order offers, etc.
Just trying to decide if I should get find an electronics store and get in line now or if I can wait until after Thanksgiving. Don't want to miss my chance to purchase the Ataribox .
